christianity_n take_v as_o gospel_n duty_n they_o stand_v by_o mean_n of_o special_a ordination_n thereto_o not_o only_a separately_z distinguish_v and_o enable_v above_o other_o humane_a power_n as_o the_o person_n to_o instruct_v and_o teach_v god_n will_v be_v distinct_a and_o in_o that_o respect_n above_o those_o that_o be_v to_o obey_v but_o also_o whilst_o they_o meddle_v not_o with_o such_o and_o yet_o such_o be_v our_o present_a aversion_n to_o government_n that_o the_o hasty_a and_o inconsiderate_a swallow_v down_o of_o such_o like_a maxim_n for_o the_o limitation_n of_o monarchical_a kingdom_n be_v in_o the_o militia_n now_o as_o he_o that_o have_v power_n hereof_o may_v benefit_v the_o kingdom_n by_o the_o invasion_n of_o another_o or_o by_o defence_n of_o his_o own_o and_o as_o he_o may_v use_v the_o same_o at_o home_n in_o maintenance_n of_o law_n and_o equity_n against_o opposer_n so_o may_v he_o thereby_o do_v the_o contrary_n whereupon_o reason_n and_o experience_n over_o the_o king_n when_o will_v they_o have_v do_v set_v of_o watchman_n upon_o watchman_n and_o must_v they_o not_o be_v man_n still_o that_o they_o shall_v so_o entrust_v in_o which_o respect_n be_v alike_o subject_a to_o transgress_v will_v they_o not_o necessary_o be_v more_o in_o danger_n of_o injury_n be_v now_o under_o the_o power_n of_o many_o than_o they_o be_v before_o while_n which_o have_v from_o crhist_a power_n to_o ordain_v and_o separate_v they_o unto_o that_o work_n so_o far_o as_o they_o be_v entrust_v with_o the_o guidance_n of_o god_n inward_a kingdom_n in_o our_o heart_n that_o be_v to_o persuade_v man_n to_o faith_n in_o christ_n which_o be_v the_o chief_a work_n of_o the_o primitive_a teacher_n among_o the_o infidel_n so_o far_o be_v they_o god_n minister_n and_o not_o man_n but_o as_o they_o be_v to_o meddle_v with_o man_n abbearance_n and_o external_a behaviour_n in_o christ_n kingdom_n the_o church_n that_o be_v to_o show_v how_o to_o perform_v obedience_n to_o he_o be_v convert_v and_o acknowledge_v his_o power_n so_o far_o be_v they_o to_o have_v warrant_n from_o those_o his_o chief_a deputy_n in_o the_o church_n whereupon_o two_o thing_n divers_a manner_n of_o existence_n of_o these_o three_o one_o in_o the_o same_o one_o substance_n we_o may_v through_o their_o union_n among_o themselves_o conceive_v deity_n itself_o to_o be_v more_o as_o ancient_a as_o he_o which_o do_v beget_v he_o and_o again_o that_o that_o person_n that_o have_v procession_n from_o the_o other_o two_o shall_v yet_o be_v as_o much_o without_o beginning_n as_o in_o the_o former_a way_n of_o work_v the_o divine_a substance_n itself_o be_v wrought_v upon_o and_o communicate_v in_o this_o only_o the_o attribute_n thereof_o be_v impart_v according_a to_o fruition_n through_o sense_n of_o likeness_n and_o same-ness_a the_o which_o we_o may_v make_v the_o definition_n of_o love_n and_o thereby_o somewhat_o difference_n it_o from_o charity_n because_o the_o one_o seek_v to_o enjoy_v the_o other_o to_o bestow_v though_o usual_o they_o be_v take_v for_o the_o same_o and_o fall_v into_o one_o another_o for_o that_o whosoever_o love_v be_v always_o ready_a to_o bestow_v and_o none_o be_v ever_o bountiful_a to_o any_o thing_n unloved_a or_o unlike_a in_o declaration_n of_o these_o sublime_a mystery_n much_o more_o may_v be_v say_v but_o when_o we_o have_v say_v all_o we_o can_v it_o be_v not_o to_o be_v conceive_v that_o the_o feeble_a brain_n of_o man_n can_v ever_o attain_v any_o steady_a degree_n of_o comprehension_n of_o that_o in_o accessible_a light_n it_o be_v more_o easy_a to_o lose_v our_o reason_n in_o a_o curious_a search_n then_o satisfy_v it_o in_o any_o full_a discovery_n and_o therefore_o our_o safe_a
and_o on_o the_o contrary_a indignation_n and_o wrath_n unto_o they_o that_o be_v contentious_a and_o do_v not_o obey_v the_o truth_n if_o beside_o the_o benefit_n arise_v to_o mankind_n by_o this_o virtue_n former_o speak_v of_o we_o also_o consider_v its_o efficacy_n in_o advancement_n of_o the_o praise_n and_o honour_n of_o god_n among_o we_o also_o for_o where_o patience_n and_o humility_n be_v practise_v as_o all_o outward_a strife_n cease_v so_o general_a contentment_n will_v arise_v whereupon_o king_n as_o well_o as_o subject_n be_v reciprocal_o please_v in_o have_v and_o yield_v ready_a obedience_n man_n on_o all_o hand_n will_v have_v cause_n to_o thank_v and_o praise_v their_o maker_n who_o great_a delight_n be_v in_o the_o good_a of_o his_o creature_n and_o their_o again_o as_o the_o many_o unavoidable_a disease_n of_o our_o natural_a body_n be_v not_o at_o all_o to_o discommend_v or_o excuse_v the_o physician_n care_v and_o pain_n for_o their_o mitigation_n or_o removal_n so_o i_o hope_v in_o this_o grand_a disease_n of_o the_o politic_a body_n call_v civil_a war_n although_o i_o can_v attain_v to_o a_o perfect_a or_o constant_a cure_n yet_o if_o the_o application_n of_o those_o remedy_n i_o have_v propose_v shall_v sometime_o cause_v diversion_n and_o sometime_o mitigation_n i_o shall_v have_v comfort_n in_o my_o labour_n but_o in_o this_o as_o all_o thing_n else_o we_o must_v leave_v the_o success_n to_o god_n who_o work_n alone_o it_o be_v to_o still_o as_o the_o rage_a of_o the_o sea_n so_o the_o madness_n of_o the_o people_n even_o that_o mad_a and_o rage_a humour_n of_o liberty_n which_o be_v blow_v to_o a_o rebellious_a height_n by_o the_o breath_n of_o seditious_a oratory_n as_o sea_n by_o the_o wind_n it_o be_v none_o other_o than_o if_o in_o our_o natural_a body_n the_o allurement_n of_o our_o palate_n shall_v tempt_v we_o to_o that_o food_n which_o shall_v bring_v we_o to_o a_o favour_n and_o as_o these_o surfeit_n seldom_o come_v but_o from_o such_o thing_n as_o be_v best_a and_o then_o again_o loathe_v of_o that_o very_a thing_n do_v follow_v so_o in_o the_o politic_a constitution_n though_o nothing_o more_o necessary_a and_o commodious_a than_o peace_n yet_o nothing_o more_o incident_a to_o man_n fickle_a nature_n then_o in_o a_o giddy_a thirst_n for_o variety_n to_o grow_v weary_a thereof_o which_o as_o a_o thing_n bring_v kingdom_n and_o state_n to_o their_o fatal_a period_n no_o otherwise_o then_o bodily_a surfeit_n and_o sickness_n do_v single_a person_n to_o their_o the_o fact_n of_o number_v to_o fall_v upon_o such_o unwarrantable_a act_n as_o may_v bring_v on_o their_o punishment_n yet_o can_v this_o punishment_n never_o warrant_v any_o active_a resistance_n of_o his_o authority_n or_o be_v the_o king_n not_o good_a as_o david_n be_v but_o such_o another_o as_o saul_n be_v yet_o since_o he_o be_v our_o king_n and_o the_o lord_n anoint_v who_o can_v without_o sin_n lift_v up_o their_o hand_n against_o he_o and_o why_o shall_v we_o be_v more_o impatient_a of_o endure_v those_o punishment_n from_o god_n that_o come_v from_o the_o hand_n of_o evil_a king_n than_o those_o of_o pestilence_n famine_n or_o the_o like_a that_o come_v more_o immediate_o from_o nature_n since_o all_o come_v from_o the_o same_o hand_n and_o to_o the_o same_o end_n the_o punishment_n of_o our_o sin_n and_o since_o god_n own_v the_o give_v of_o they_o in_o his_o anger_n and_o the_o have_v their_o heart_n in_o his_o hand_n and_o turn_v they_o wheresoever_o he_o please_v
