there_o be_v difference_n and_o the_o one_o be_v of_o work_n and_o the_o other_o of_o grace_n neither_o be_v it_o the_o difference_n that_o work_v in_o the_o one_o be_v meritorious_a and_o in_o the_o other_o not_o for_o there_o be_v proper_a merit_n in_o neither_o nor_o be_v the_o difference_n to_o be_v place_v in_o this_o that_o the_o one_o require_v work_n perfect_o holy_a as_o the_o condition_n may_v be_v a_o ground_n in_o justice_n to_o absolve_v a_o sinner_n and_o therefore_o in_o this_o christ_n satisfaction_n as_o present_v and_o plead_v must_v be_v the_o only_a ground_n for_o it_o be_v from_o some_o particular_a text_n yet_o consider_v that_o the_o generality_n of_o hearer_n be_v very_o ignorant_a of_o the_o series_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o other_o be_v weak_a and_o inadvertent_n even_o in_o thing_n which_o they_o someway_o know_v and_o consider_v withal_o that_o a_o minister_n may_v have_v occasion_n by_o way_n of_o reason_n use_v mean_v motive_n question_n or_o otherways_o to_o hint_n a_o view_n of_o the_o gospel_n almost_o from_o any_o material_a doctrine_n and_o that_o without_o any_o just_a imputation_n of_o impertinency_n we_o conceive_v that_o general_o and_o usual_o its_o expedient_a to_o follow_v this_o manner_n especial_o on_o the_o lord_n day_n which_o be_v most_o fit_a for_o gospel-doctrine_n people_n be_v then_o for_o that_o end_n set_v apart_o and_o sequester_v from_o their_o ordinary_a bussiness_n and_o when_o the_o body_n of_o the_o most_o ignorant_a people_n be_v gather_v together_o this_o way_n certain_o by_o god_n blessing_n will_v look_v if_o a_o woman_n that_o be_v woo_v for_o marriage_n shall_v fancy_v herself_o to_o have_v title_n and_o right_a to_o all_o the_o privilege_n of_o such_o a_o man_n wife_n before_o the_o marriage_n be_v actual_o consummate_v or_o before_o she_o have_v give_v her_o formal_a consent_n thereunto_o and_o so_o according_a to_o these_o ground_n we_o see_v that_o all_o hearer_n be_v not_o simple_o and_o instant_o call_v to_o believe_v that_o christ_n do_v die_v for_o they_o but_o first_o to_o receive_v he_o as_o their_o saviour_n and_o then_o to_o draw_v such_o a_o conclusion_n which_o upon_o the_o performance_n of_o that_o condition_n can_v never_o fail_v from_o this_o also_o we_o may_v see_v the_o fallacy_n and_o weakness_n of_o that_o much_o toss_v vain_a objection_n to_o wit_n that_o which_o every_o one_o be_v oblige_v to_o believe_v that_o must_v be_v truth_n but_o every_o one_o be_v oblige_v to_o believe_v that_o christ_n do_v die_v for_o he_o in_o particular_a therefore_o that_o christ_n do_v die_v for_o every_o one_o in_o particular_a must_v be_v a_o truth_n this_o argument_n i_o say_v depend_v only_o upon_o the_o former_a mistake_n of_o faith_n and_o this_o be_v deny_v that_o all_o man_n be_v instant_o call_v to_o believe_v that_o christ_n die_v for_o they_o in_o particular_a when_o they_o be_v call_v to_o believe_v in_o he_o for_o obtain_v of_o life_n the_o strength_n of_o it_o will_v evanish_v because_o suppose_v that_o many_o in_o the_o visible_a church_n which_o experience_n do_v put_v out_o of_o question_n do_v never_o believe_v in_o christ_n or_o by_o faith_n rest_n on_o he_o for_o the_o obtain_n of_o life_n then_o it_o will_v follow_v that_o many_o even_o in_o the_o visible_a church_n be_v never_o oblige_v to_o believe_v that_o christ_n have_v die_v for_o they_o in_o particular_a because_o none_o have_v warrant_n to_o make_v that_o application_n but_o such_o as_o have_v first_o betake_v themselves_o by_o faith_n unto_o christ_n whereby_o the_o assumption_n of_o that_o argument_n be_v palpable_o false_a for_o it_o must_v be_v so_o assume_v every_o man_n that_o hear_v the_o gospel_n and_o have_v receive_v christ_n aught_o to_o believe_v that_o he_o have_v die_v for_o he_o and_o so_o the_o conclusion_n will_v be_v that_o christ_n have_v die_v for_o all_o that_o believe_v in_o he_o which_o be_v true_a or_o it_o must_v be_v that_o every_o one_o that_o hear_v the_o gospel_n be_v oblige_v to_o receive_v christ_n and_o rest_n upon_o he_o and_o upon_o that_o condition_n may_v expect_v life_n which_o will_v make_v nothing_o to_o the_o intend_a purpose_n this_o occasion_n give_v ground_n to_o insist_v a_o little_a further_o in_o clear_v the_o extent_n of_o the_o merit_n of_o christ_n death_n in_o respect_n of_o the_o
