motion_n and_o carefulness_n of_o this_o life_n which_o wound_n of_o man_n weakness_n the_o saint_n feel_v to_o be_v so_o much_o the_o grevouser_n as_o they_o more_o study_n to_o remedy_v they_o which_o thing_n paul_n bewail_v of_o himself_o roma_n seven_o it_o be_v profitable_a that_o the_o people_n be_v often_o and_o plain_o admonish_v of_o this_o question_n for_o a_o great_a part_n of_o man_n be_v encumber_v in_o two_o error_n some_o be_v in_o perpetual_a doubt_n be_v uncertain_a whether_o their_o life_n or_o work_n please_v god_n and_o lyve_v in_o a_o heathnishe_a ungodliness_n for_o they_o can_v not_o call_v upon_o god_n but_o they_o flee_v his_o sight_n there_o be_v a_o very_a great_a multitude_n of_o this_o sort_n among_o man_n wherefore_o this_o heathnishe_a blindness_n of_o man_n must_v be_v diligent_o reprove_v an_o other_o arrogancy_n and_o trust_v of_o our_o own_o rightuousnes_n and_o work_n as_o be_v the_o error_n of_o that_o pharisee_n which_o in_o the_o temple_n glory_v of_o the_o keep_n of_o the_o law_n not_o perceive_n his_o own_o uncleanes_n and_o sin_n therefore_o that_o this_o double_a error_n and_o this_o blindness_n may_v be_v ovoyd_v we_o must_v know_v that_o three_o thing_n be_v require_v hereunto_o that_o good_a work_n please_v god_n first_o that_o the_o man_n himself_o be_v acceptable_a to_o god_n and_o be_v justify_v free_o for_o christ_n sake_n second_o that_o it_o be_v requisite_a that_o a_o new_a life_n follow_v and_o obedience_n towards_o god_n though_o it_o be_v unperfecte_v and_o though_o much_o weakness_n and_o many_o vice_n remain_v in_o us._n wherefore_o we_o must_v remember_v that_o it_o be_v ever_o needful_a to_o ask_v forgyvenes_n of_o sin_n as_o christ_n teach_v we_o all_o to_o pray_v to_o the_o father_n forgyve_v we_o our_o dette_n for_o no_o man_n understand_v sufficient_o how_o great_a the_o anger_n of_o god_n be_v against_o sin_n our_o reconciler_n christ_n do_v only_o full_o perceyve_v it_o preacher_n shall_v with_o all_o possible_a study_n call_v back_o dissuade_v and_o fray_v away_o the_o people_n from_o this_o so_o detestable_a and_o most_o noisome_a superstition_n wicked_a worshppynge_n and_o idolatry_n which_o have_v long_o time_n horrible_o reign_v through_o all_o people_n of_o christendom_n and_o for_o this_o purpose_n they_o shall_v often_o rehearse_v and_o wherefore_o saint_n epiphanius_n who_o epistle_n faint_a herome_n add_v to_o his_o wrytynge_n against_o john_n byshoppe_n of_o jerusalem_n testify_v thus_o they_o have_v judge_v that_o it_o be_v preserve_v and_o encrase_n in_o we_o thereby_o knowledge_n love_n and_o zeal_n of_o he_o wherefore_o while_o we_o right_o use_v these_o instrument_n of_o religion_n we_o be_v sure_a that_o the_o that_o we_o may_v the_o better_o and_o more_o commodiouslie_o sanctify_v the_o name_n of_o god_n promute_v his_o kingdom_n and_o go_v forward_o in_o the_o same_o with_o all_o godliness_n we_o be_v command_v to_o ask_v these_o necessary_n of_o life_n daily_o that_o we_o may_v considre_v that_o they_o be_v not_o lay_v up_o in_o our_o storehouse_n but_o in_o the_o providence_n of_o god_n and_o that_o they_o be_v ever_o minister_v unto_o we_o of_o the_o free_a benivolence_n of_o god_n and_o not_o get_v by_o our_o industry_n or_o strength_n how_o be_v it_o every_o man_n ought_v to_o apply_v his_o industry_n and_o labour_n to_o this_o bountuousnes_n of_o god_n accord_v to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n he_o add_v our_o and_o daily_a bread_n epiousion_n that_o be_v to_o say_v that_o which_o the_o instant_n and_o present_a use_n of_o life_n require_v that_o he_o may_v teach_v we_o that_o in_o these_o bodily_a thing_n we_o ought_v to_o ask_v nor_o get_v no_o more_o than_o the_o need_n of_o our_o life_n require_v to_o provide_v the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n in_o our_o neighbour_n and_o moreover_o that_o we_o shall_v acknowledge_v that_o measure_n of_o this_o our_o need_n that_o the_o heavenly_a father_n have_v limit_v and_o not_o that_o our_o unmeasurable_a desire_n appoint_v to_o who_o it_o pertain_v alone_o to_o meat_n out_o to_o we_o his_o child_n our_o measure_n that_o we_o may_v think_v that_o to_o be_v our_o bread_n and_o not_o doubt_n but_o that_o it_o shall_v suffice_v we_o abundaunt_o to_o live_v well_o and_o godly_a that_o the_o heavenly_a father_n shall_v gyve_v we_o what_o so_o ever_o it_o be_v in_o these_o part_n then_o of_o this_o form_n of_o prayinge_v the_o lord_n have_v teach_v we_o what_o good_a thing_n we_o must_v pray_v for_o of_o the_o heavenly_a father_n both_o spiritual_a and_o corporal_a afterward_o he_o teach_v to_o pray_v for_o the_o remove_n of_o evyls_n namely_o our_o misdeed_n and_o sin_n which_o we_o ever_o commit_v and_o the_o punishment_n that_o we_o owe_v to_o god_n justice_n for_o the_o same_o wherefore_o he_o teach_v we_o to_o pray_v forgyve_v we_o our_o dette_n for_o we_o do_v never_o our_o duty_n so_o religious_o in_o those_o thing_n which_o god_n have_v command_v but_o that_o yet_o we_o owe_v a_o great_a deal_n more_o unto_o the_o full_a obedience_n of_o god_n law_n now_o we_o do_v not_o only_o run_v into_o those_o dette_n of_o the_o law_n not_o fulfil_v and_o heap_v daily_a more_o and_o more_o but_o also_o we_o commit_v many_o thing_n plain_o against_o the_o law_n for_o which_o we_o be_v endet_v to_o god_n of_o grevous_a punishment_n and_o we_o can_v pay_v neither_o of_o these_o two_o kynde_n of_o dette_n for_o we_o do_v not_o only_o never_o satisfy_v the_o law_n whereby_o we_o run_v in_o new_a dette_n of_o the_o law_n not_o fulfil_v but_o also_o oftentimes_o we_o commit_v many_o thing_n against_o the_o law_n of_o god_n whereby_o we_o run_v into_o infinite_a dette_n of_o punishment_n wherefore_o the_o lord_n teach_v we_o to_o fleee_v only_o to_o the_o mercy_n of_o the_o heavenly_a father_n through_o himself_o for_o we_o must_v pray_v for_o all_o these_o thing_n in_o his_o name_n and_o to_o desire_v forgyvenes_n of_o our_o dette_n and_o he_o add_v no_o condition_n of_o satisfy_v for_o the_o lord_n alone_o have_v satisfy_v for_o our_o sin_n and_o he_o gyve_v we_o that_o satisfaction_n when_o we_o commit_v ourselves_o unto_o he_o but_o he_o will_v have_v we_o to_o profess_v that_o we_o will_v forgyve_v all_o the_o dette_n that_o our_o neighbour_n may_v owe_v unto_o we_o either_o because_o against_o humanity_n they_o have_v do_v we_o wrong_n or_o because_o they_o have_v not_o do_v their_o duty_n towards_o we_o and_o he_o will_v that_o this_o thing_n be_v sure_o perform_v for_o seinge_v that_o god_n in_o all_o his_o commandment_n prescribe_v only_o those_o thing_n unto_o we_o which_o perteine_a to_o our_o health_n and_o felicity_n he_o make_v this_o the_o sum_n of_o our_o precept_n that_o we_o love_v and_o help_v one_o a_o other_o with_o a_o sincere_a herte_n and_o perpetual_a benivolence_n and_o he_o require_v very_o straitlie_o that_o from_o the_o heart_n we_o forgive_v one_o a_o other_o mutual_a offence_n which_o ever_o more_o happen_v through_o the_o naughtiness_n and_o weakness_n of_o our_o nature_n yea_o and_o that_o we_o study_v one_o to_o overcome_v a_o other_o wrong_n with_o benefit_n and_o leave_v the_o revengeaunce_n to_o he_o and_o pray_v that_o he_o will_v remit_v the_o same_o to_o they_o that_o hurt_v us._n he_o will_v have_v such_o a_o sure_a and_o perpetual_a benivolence_n to_o grow_v among_o we_o and_o to_o be_v confirm_v with_o all_o kind_n of_o gentleness_n moreover_o because_o no_o man_n can_v ask_v of_o the_o heavenly_a father_n forgiveness_n of_o his_o dette_n except_o he_o humble_v himself_o all_o together_o undre_v his_o hand_n and_o utter_o yield_v himself_o to_o his_o commandment_n the_o lord_n have_v well_o prescribe_v in_o this_o form_n of_o pray_v that_o we_o shall_v profess_v before_o the_o heavenly_a father_n that_o we_o will_v forgive_v our_o brother_n what_o so_o ever_o duty_n or_o punishment_n they_o may_v seem_v to_o be_v endet_v for_o unto_o we_o in_o that_o place_n of_o prayer_n where_o we_o pray_v unto_o he_o to_o forgive_v we_o our_o dette_n which_o we_o owe_v unto_o he_o infinite_a either_o for_o our_o obedience_n which_o we_o have_v not_o full_o perform_v or_o for_o the_o punishment_n that_o we_o deserve_v both_o for_o neglect_v our_o duty_n and_o also_o for_o the_o despiteful_a wrong_n that_o we_o do_v to_o his_o majesty_n committing_a so_o many_o thing_n against_o the_o duty_n that_o we_o owe_v he_o which_o our_o dette_n if_o we_o right_o acknowledge_v as_o we_o must_v needs_o acknowledge_v they_o if_o we_o ask_v forgiveness_n of_o they_o with_o all_o our_o herte_n we_o shall_v not_o doubt_v but_o that_o the_o wrong_n that_o our_o neighbour_n do_v we_o be_v the_o fatherlie_a chastisement_n of_o god_n much_o gentle_a than_o we_o have_v deserve_v and_o that_o they_o shall_v be_v also_o a_o wholesome_a remedy_n for_o we_o against_o sin_n for_o which_o to_o forgive_v our_o neighbour_n all_o offence_n therefore_o the_o preacher_n shall_v admonish_v the_o people_n with_o singular_a diligence_n about_o this_o place_n as_o we_o forgive_v also_o that_o it_o be_v not_o such_o a_o manner_n of_o forgyve_v as_o though_o we_o do_v ask_v of_o god_n that_o he_o will_v so_o forgive_v we_o our_o sin_n as_o we_o forgive_v but_o that_o it_o be_v a_o the_o removinge_a of_o evylles_n lead_v ought_v not_o to_o pray_v for_o which_o thing_n be_v do_v more_o way_n than_o can_v be_v number_v for_o the_o correction_n of_o these_o abuse_n those_o word_n well_o do_v or_o no_o whether_o it_o be_v acceptable_a to_o god_n or_o unacceptable_a and_o that_o that_o be_v do_v with_o doubt_v can_v not_o be_v do_v of_o faith_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v sin_n for_o what_o so_o ever_o be_v not_o of_o faith_n be_v sin_n as_o s._n paul_n witness_v ro._n viij_o second_o it_o be_v evident_a that_o the_o prayer_n that_o be_v in_o the_o scripture_n be_v make_v of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n himself_o and_o come_v from_o he_o and_o therefore_o that_o they_o be_v most_o perfect_v and_o chief_o to_o be_v follow_v of_o us._n but_o in_o all_o the_o scripture_n there_o be_v no_o exemple_n of_o such_o invocation_n direct_v to_o saint_n wherefore_o no_o man_n can_v use_v such_o a_o form_n for_o therein_o he_o shall_v set_v the_o authority_n of_o man_n before_o the_o authority_n of_o god_n for_o he_o follow_v their_o authority_n who_o exemple_n he_o use_v in_o praying_n and_o therefore_o set_v it_o before_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o
