a_o remonstrance_n to_o the_o creditor_n of_o the_o commonwealth_n of_o england_n concerning_o the_o public_a debt_n of_o the_o nation_n his_o excellency_n new_a representative_a be_v now_o dissolve_v and_o their_o supreme_a power_n envolve_v in_o he_o as_o the_o sap_n of_o a_o tree_n run_v to_o the_o root_n in_o cold_a winter_n it_o be_v not_o for_o the_o creditor_n of_o the_o commonwealth_n of_o england_n to_o despair_v of_o their_o due_a debt_n and_o think_v themselves_o undo_v by_o what_o be_v do_v but_o rather_o turn_v their_o present_a fear_n into_o future_a hope_n consider_v that_o the_o late_a disease_a and_o decease_a parliament_n before_o their_o dissolution_n in_o their_o last_o will_n and_o testament_n make_v their_o noble_a general_n who_o be_v now_o our_o lord_n protector_n their_o sole_a executor_n who_o i_o hope_v will_v be_v careful_a to_o see_v you_o satisfy_v and_o the_o grievance_n of_o the_o people_n remove_v in_o he_o therefore_o you_o must_v confide_v and_o render_v that_o honour_n worship_n and_o fear_v which_o be_v due_a unto_o his_o highness_n under_o god_n and_o to_o he_o and_o his_o counsel_n repair_v and_o petition_n for_o justice_n and_o due_a satisfaction_n of_o your_o just_a debt_n according_a to_o that_o way_n and_o manner_n prescribe_v in_o my_o remonstrance_n of_o the_o 22_o of_o june_n last_o and_o much_o more_o abundant_a that_o you_o may_v not_o run_v in_o vain_a but_o obtain_v your_o just_a desire_n for_o preparation_n hereunto_o it_o be_v meet_a that_o you_o be_v thorough_o sensible_a of_o what_o the_o late_a parliament_n have_v do_v for_o you_o that_o well_o pened_a act_n for_o ireland_n of_o the_o 26_o of_o septemb._n last_o you_o ought_v not_o to_o forget_v consider_v that_o therein_o they_o have_v grant_v land_n to_o you_o at_o a_o easy_a rate_n for_o your_o public_a faith_n bill_n and_o debenture_n which_o i_o suppose_v will_v be_v good_a accommodation_n for_o those_o who_o intend_v there_o to_o inhabit_v or_o plant_v and_o it_o be_v remarkable_a what_o special_a provision_n they_o have_v make_v therein_o for_o desolate_a widow_n etc._n etc._n but_o to_o speak_v as_o the_o truth_n be_v they_o have_v not_o therein_o make_v provision_n for_o state_v your_o debenture_n who_o have_v not_o serve_v in_o ireland_n only_o they_o do_v in_o a_o manner_n promise_v it_o yet_o by_o the_o act_n of_o the_o 19_o of_o october_n last_o they_o have_v impower_v the_o committee_n of_o the_o army_n to_o cause_v the_o account_n of_o all_o officer_n and_o soldier_n that_o either_o be_v or_o be_v in_o the_o service_n of_o this_o commonwealth_n at_o any_o time_n since_o the_o 15_o of_o january_n 1647._o to_o be_v state_v audit_v and_o cast_v up_o but_o not_o for_o those_o that_o be_v disband_v before_o nevertheless_o though_o some_o be_v content_v to_o accept_v of_o land_n in_o ireland_n the_o rest_n will_v not_o be_v so_o satisfy_v but_o expect_v payment_n of_o their_o bill_n and_o debenture_n from_o the_o forest_n and_o chase_n which_o be_v give_v by_o the_o old_a parliament_n for_o collateral_a security_n in_o the_o act_n of_o the_o 17_o of_o july_n 1649._o but_o incontinent_o this_o late_a dissolve_a parliament_n have_v put_v the_o public_a faith_n upon_o double_v thereupon_o wherein_o it_o be_v to_o be_v fear_v there_o will_v be_v double_a deal_n and_o that_o the_o needy_a creditor_n will_v be_v expose_v as_o it_o be_v to_o be_v sell_v for_o a_o little_a silver_n and_o the_o poor_a for_o the_o price_n of_o a_o pair_n of_o shoe_n for_o they_o be_v not_o able_a to_o double_v must_v be_v constrain_v in_o the_o midst_n of_o their_o great_a extremity_n to_o sell_v their_o public_a debt_n at_o a_o inconsiderable_a value_n with_o many_o sigh_n and_o tear_n into_o the_o bargain_n and_o of_o all_o the_o forest_n they_o have_v reserve_v but_o four_o for_o the_o collateral_a security_n for_o the_o soldier_n bill_n chargeable_a upon_o the_o late_a king_n land_n and_o that_o with_o such_o delatory_a condition_n whereby_o their_o expectation_n be_v frustrate_a though_o they_o earn_v their_o wage_n with_o the_o hazard_n of_o their_o life_n and_o dear_a blood_n the_o act_n of_o the_o 7_o of_o octob_n last_o which_o be_v for_o public_a creditor_n to_o bring_v or_o send_v in_o their_o claim_n of_o their_o debt_n to_o the_o commissioner_n therein_o name_v be_v say_v to_o be_v for_o the_o due_a state_v and_o clear_n of_o public_a debt_n in_o order_n to_o their_o payment_n it_o also_o promise_v payment_n to_o the_o discoverer_n of_o his_o own_o proper_a debt_n but_o as_o the_o act_n of_o marriage_n be_v deficient_a without_o tell_v how_o long_o they_o shall_v hold_v together_o so_o this_o act_n be_v lame_a in_o divers_a respect_n it_o tell_v you_o of_o state_v and_o of_o pay_v but_o not_o by_o who_o nor_o when_o therefore_o it_o be_v not_o amiss_o for_o you_o to_o petition_n for_o a_o additional_a act_n or_o that_o the_o remain_v of_o that_o bill_n which_o be_v read_v and_o order_v to_o be_v read_v again_o by_o the_o old_a parliament_n nov_n 30_o 1642._o may_v pass_v for_o your_o better_a security_n and_o the_o 12_o undertaker_n be_v sufficient_o impower_v upon_o this_o certain_a man_n have_v engage_v to_o discover_v 500000._o l._n for_o payment_n of_o public_a debt_n i_o know_v many_o of_o you_o be_v very_o necessitous_a and_o other_o though_o more_o able_a can_v spare_v money_n out_o of_o their_o trade_n to_o double_a you_o have_v wait_v many_o year_n with_o much_o patience_n and_o i_o have_v labour_v many_o month_n and_o attain_v experience_n of_o the_o say_a calamity_n of_o the_o people_n more_o than_o before_o i_o have_v in_o my_o progress_n see_v a_o dissolution_n of_o a_o golden_a parliament_n covet_v profit_n and_o a_o parliament_n choice_n as_o silver_n labour_v for_o credit_n consist_v as_o be_v say_v most_o of_o religious_a and_o conscientious_a man_n in_o who_o the_o best_a affect_a have_v hope_n of_o good_a but_o a_o house_n divide_v against_o itself_o can_v stand_v the_o news_n of_o this_o will_v go_v to_o rome_n but_o let_v not_o the_o uncircumcised_a in_o heart_n rejoice_v and_o triumph_v most_o man_n upon_o this_o dissolution_n take_v occasion_n to_o cry_v aha_o aha_o and_o to_o speak_v their_o pleasure_n but_o prudence_n may_v teach_v they_o when_o and_o how_o to_o speak_v indeed_o the_o occasion_n of_o their_o dissolution_n be_v know_v to_o many_o but_o few_o do_v right_o consider_v the_o cause_n to_o be_v that_o in_o matter_n fundamental_a they_o lay_v aside_o god_n most_o righteous_a law_n and_o lean_v to_o their_o own_o wherefore_o their_o dissolution_n be_v of_o god_n who_o say_v i_o will_v have_v mercy_n and_o not_o sacrifice_v it_o proceed_v from_o the_o lord_n of_o host_n who_o have_v determine_v to_o stain_v the_o pride_n of_o all_o glory_n and_o to_o bring_v into_o contempt_n all_o the_o honourable_a of_o the_o earth_n god_n grant_v repentance_n to_o sinner_n god_n protect_v the_o protector_n of_o his_o saint_n god_n preserve_v the_o peace_n of_o the_o commonwealth_n amen_n from_o my_o house_n in_o bowlane_n london_n the_o 19_o of_o december_n
