and_o receive_v the_o sacrament_n shall_v i_o praise_v you_o in_o this_o say_v the_o apostle_n i_o praise_v you_o not_o use_v 2_o second_o he_o make_v a_o use_n of_o terror_n against_o all_o those_o that_o dare_v come_v in_o their_o sin_n unto_o this_o holy_a sacrament_n of_o the_o lord_n for_o that_o man_n that_o come_v in_o his_o sin_n unto_o the_o table_n of_o the_o lord_n 1._o though_o he_o may_v think_v he_o receive_v the_o communion_n yet_o he_o do_v not_o for_o this_o be_v not_o the_o table_n of_o the_o lord_n but_o the_o table_n of_o devil_n it_o be_v true_a thou_o receive_v the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o christ_n hut_n yet_o come_v in_o thy_o sin_n thou_o receive_v not_o his_o body_n and_o blood_n as_o of_o a_o saviour_n to_o save_v thou_o from_o thy_o sin_n indeed_o thou_o receive_v the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o christ_n sacramental_o but_o it_o be_v as_o the_o judge_n to_o condemn_v thou_o unto_o the_o pit_n of_o destruction_n for_o thy_o damn_a impudence_n in_o come_v so_o unworthy_o unto_o this_o holy_a sacrament_n for_o that_o man_n can_v eat_v the_o body_n of_o christ_n that_o be_v not_o a_o member_n of_o christ_n therefore_o thou_o must_v be_v a_o limb_n of_o christ_n if_o ever_o thou_o will_v receive_v worthy_o 2._o if_o a_o man_n come_v unto_o the_o sacrament_n and_o come_v in_o his_o sin_n he_o come_v to_o his_o own_o destruction_n for_o though_o it_o be_v a_o sweet_a banquet_n for_o to_o refresh_v a_o humble_a and_o weary_a soul_n and_o to_o make_v it_o walk_v more_o cheerful_o in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n all_o the_o day_n of_o his_o life_n yet_o he_o that_o come_v unto_o it_o in_o his_o sin_n and_o receive_v it_o in_o his_o uncleanness_n speed_v thereby_o his_o own_o damnation_n and_o receive_v it_o as_o his_o viaticum_fw-la to_o hell_n the_o apostle_n compare_v baptism_n to_o the_o red_a sea_n 1._o cor._n 10._o from_o which_o place_n chrysostome_n say_v that_o as_o the_o red_a sea_n be_v a_o way_n for_o the_o israelite_n to_o pass_v through_o to_o canaan_n so_o it_o be_v as_o a_o grave_n to_o swallow_v up_o the_o egyptian_n to_o their_o destruction_n so_o the_o lord_n supper_n be_v as_o a_o grave_n or_o open_a pit_n whereby_o many_o plunge_n themselves_o into_o eternal_a destruction_n but_o as_o a_o chariot_n to_o the_o godly_a to_o carry_v they_o to_o heaven_n use_v 3_o three_o by_o come_v in_o thy_o sin_n thou_o make_v thyself_o liable_a to_o god_n temporary_a plague_n and_o judgement_n as_o appear_v in_o my_o text_n for_o this_o cause_n many_o be_v sick_a and_o weak_a among_o you_o and_o many_o be_v fall_v asleep_o for_o this_o cause_n which_o be_v not_o oneâ—y_v a_o note_n of_o conclusion_n but_o of_o the_o cause_n for_o this_o cause_n namely_o because_o they_o examine_v not_o themselves_o but_o come_v in_o their_o sin_n and_o receive_v it_o unworthy_o one_o man_n have_v a_o disease_n in_o his_o body_n that_o he_o live_v not_o out_o half_a his_o day_n another_o sick_a and_o weak_a near_o unto_o death_n a_o three_o be_v fall_v asleep_o wherefore_o why_o say_v the_o apostle_n for_o this_o cause_n of_o receive_v unworthy_o the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n use_v 4_o four_o for_o instruction_n that_o because_o the_o people_n of_o god_n as_o well_o as_o wicked_a man_n be_v guilty_a of_o unworthy_a come_n to_o the_o lord_n table_n therefore_o he_o exhort_v they_o that_o if_o they_o will_v not_o have_v the_o lord_n judge_v they_o that_o they_o will_v judge_v themselves_o as_o in_o the_o 31._o verse_n for_o if_o we_o will_v judge_v ourselves_o we_o shall_v not_o be_v judge_v of_o the_o lord_n if_o we_o will_v sit_v down_o and_o search_v our_o own_o heart_n and_o try_v our_o own_o spirit_n and_o pry_v into_o our_o bosom_n and_o out_o with_o our_o old_a corruption_n and_o unclean_a lust_n and_o enter_v into_o a_o new_a covenant_n with_o god_n of_o holy_a walk_n before_o he_o for_o after_o time_n if_o we_o will_v thus_o judge_v and_o condemn_v ourselves_o and_o mortify_v our_o sin_n come_v with_o grace_n unâ—o_o this_o holy_a banquet_n than_o we_o may_v come_v with_o comfort_n unto_o this_o bless_a sacrament_n assure_v ourselves_o that_o we_o shall_v escape_v the_o judgement_n of_o the_o lord_n for_o those_o of_o the_o corinthian_n who_o god_n strike_v with_o sickness_n weakness_n and_o death_n it_o be_v to_o instruct_v other_o that_o be_v well_o and_o in_o health_n that_o they_o venture_v not_o to_o enter_v upon_o these_o holy_a mystery_n with_o unholy_a heart_n and_o unclean_a hand_n use_v 5_o five_o he_o conclude_v with_o a_o use_n of_o exhortation_n in_o the_o 33._o and_o 34._o verse_n wherefore_o brethren_n when_o you_o come_v together_o to_o partake_v of_o the_o holy_a communion_n tarry_v one_o for_o another_o as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v away_o with_o all_o your_o disorder_n and_o come_v not_o with_o a_o temporal_a but_o with_o a_o spiritual_a appetite_n provide_v not_o thy_o tooth_n but_o thy_o heart_n for_o these_o dainty_n for_o this_o be_v not_o a_o feast_n for_o the_o body_n but_o for_o the_o soul_n therefore_o away_o with_o all_o your_o disorder_n and_o unseemly_a come_n unto_o thiâ—_n bless_a sacrament_n take_v heed_n and_o repent_v of_o this_o sin_n among_o you_o and_o of_o all_o other_o sin_n which_o you_o know_v your_o own_o conscience_n to_o be_v guilty_a of_o and_o so_o come_v unto_o this_o holy_a communion_n now_o the_o verse_n that_o i_o have_v read_v to_o you_o be_v a_o part_n of_o that_o use_n of_o terror_n which_o the_o apostle_n make_v against_o the_o unworthy_a receiver_n of_o the_o sacrament_n and_o it_o contain_v god_n severe_a hand_n and_o judgement_n against_o those_o that_o come_v unworthy_o wherein_o note_v three_o thing_n first_o the_o cause_n of_o their_o
