apparel_n abuse_v they_o to_o pride_n and_o newefanglednes_n othersome_a in_o eat_v and_o drink_v turn_v they_o to_o lust_n wantonness_n glutonie_n and_o drunkenness_n othersome_a by_o a_o hoard_n of_o they_o up_o and_o have_v no_o use_n of_o they_o subiect_v they_o to_o moth_n worm_n rust_n and_o rottenness_n deprive_v as_o themselves_o so_o other_o and_o special_o the_o church_n and_o commonwealth_n of_o the_o free_a &_o christian_n use_n of_o they_o no_o man_n almost_o among_o ten_o thousand_o strive_a or_o care_v religious_o and_o in_o sanctification_n to_o use_v they_o not_o of_o it_o own_o will_n the_o reason_n be_v because_o if_o the_o creature_n can_v choose_v it_o will_v not_o be_v subject_a to_o that_o poor_a estate_n by_o which_o we_o may_v see_v that_o he_o mean_v then_o that_o it_o be_v unwilling_o in_o respect_n of_o itself_o bring_v under_o this_o condition_n and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o by_o the_o mean_n of_o man_n sin_n subdue_v to_o this_o thraldom_n and_o slavery_n and_o see_v we_o know_v that_o such_o creature_n have_v not_o sens_fw-fr or_o wit_n though_o for_o our_o rudeness_n sake_n such_o thing_n be_v ascribe_v to_o they_o let_v we_o therefore_o understand_v that_o will_v in_o this_o place_n must_v be_v take_v for_o some_o natural_a inclination_n in_o the_o creature_n against_o which_o they_o be_v subject_a as_o before_o &_o not_o otherwise_o and_o the_o rather_o let_v we_o yield_v to_o this_o because_o we_o see_v by_o the_o light_n of_o humane_a reason_n that_o everi_n thing_n do_v by_o a_o natural_a instinct_n aim_v at_o creature_n for_o by_o creation_n they_o be_v exceed_v good_a 3.17_o genes_n 1.31_o genes_n 3.17_o &_o when_o sin_n once_o enter_v the_o lord_n curse_v the_o earth_n and_o all_o thing_n therein_o for_o man_n sin_n sake_n and_o the_o contrary_a inclination_n of_o the_o creature_n that_o still_o they_o shall_v be_v subject_a unto_o we_o though_o not_o in_o so_o large_a a_o measure_n and_o plentiful_a sort_n as_o before_o the_o fall_n of_o man_n yet_o in_o such_o abundance_n as_o may_v serve_v for_o the_o manifest_v of_o god_n great_a mercy_n towards_o we_o poor_a and_o miserable_a man_n that_o all_o which_o shall_v teach_v we_o to_o be_v humble_o thankful_a unto_o he_o that_o have_v deal_v with_o we_o in_o so_o large_a a_o hand_n and_o that_o not_o only_o in_o the_o word_n of_o our_o mouth_n but_o also_o in_o the_o reverend_a soul_n and_o sanctify_a use_n of_o his_o creature_n and_o that_o the_o rather_o because_o whereas_o he_o may_v for_o our_o sin_n have_v just_o deprive_v we_o not_o of_o some_o one_o of_o they_o alone_o but_o of_o all_o of_o they_o and_o by_o consequent_a of_o our_o natural_a life_n also_o he_o have_v be_v please_v to_o leave_v to_o we_o a_o most_o large_a and_o liberal_a portion_n as_o before_o have_v be_v say_v which_o to_o wit_n god_n alone_o for_o none_o other_o can_v do_v it_o but_o he_o and_o such_o as_o he_o shall_v appoint_v and_o furnish_v with_o gift_n for_o the_o do_n of_o the_o same_o for_o beside_o that_o we_o see_v many_o of_o the_o mighty_a creature_n untameable_a and_o every_o one_o of_o they_o in_o their_o rage_n ready_a to_o fall_v upon_o man_n to_o their_o utter_a ruin_n as_o we_o may_v see_v in_o lion_n bear_n wolf_n tiger_n and_o a_o infinite_a number_n such_o like_a special_o such_o as_o be_v at_o liberty_n in_o the_o wild_a wood_n and_o wilderness_n we_o know_v by_o the_o light_n of_o the_o word_n and_o trial_n of_o our_o time_n that_o if_o god_n will_v furnish_v but_o the_o least_o of_o his_o army_n or_o creature_n with_o power_n that_o not_o man_n only_o but_o that_o not_o all_o the_o man_n in_o the_o world_n can_v withstand_v much_o less_o subdue_v the_o same_o why_o can_v not_o pharaoh_n hinder_v the_o crawl_a of_o frog_n in_o his_o own_o chamber_n 31_o psal_n 105.30_o 31_o nor_o let_v the_o swarm_n of_o fly_n and_o louse_n that_o be_v in_o all_o the_o quarter_n of_o his_o land_n why_o be_v not_o we_o ourselves_o able_a to_o avoid_v the_o dart_n of_o death_n the_o grief_n of_o the_o grave_n nay_o what_o speak_v i_o of_o such_o great_a thing_n why_o do_v we_o not_o shun_v if_o we_o can_v be_v as_o a_o man_n will_v say_v a_o certain_a description_n of_o he_o for_o in_o who_o hand_n and_o power_n be_v it_o else_o to_o cause_v the_o creature_n to_o tremble_v and_o quake_v at_o his_o presence_n and_o to_o walk_v in_o obedience_n unto_o his_o good_a pleasure_n but_o in_o the_o lord_n alone_o let_v we_o proceed_v have_v subdue_v to_o wit_n by_o his_o almighty_a power_n &_o by_o the_o force_n of_o his_o eternal_a word_n ordinance_n and_o decree_n which_o as_o it_o be_v strong_a in_o the_o beginning_n to_o make_v all_o thing_n of_o nothing_o and_o have_v be_v powerful_a ever_o in_o these_o word_n the_o apostle_n mind_v to_o give_v we_o to_o understand_v that_o god_n never_o purpose_v for_o man_n sin_n to_o subject_v his_o creature_n to_o a_o continual_a course_n or_o such_o a_o punishment_n as_o shall_v never_o be_v do_v away_o but_o have_v give_v they_o some_o hope_n that_o they_o shall_v be_v free_v from_o the_o same_o which_o thing_n ought_v notable_o in_o my_o mind_n meaning_n thereof_o and_o to_o the_o fit_n observation_n of_o such_o profitable_a doctrine_n as_o do_v arise_v and_o may_v right_o be_v gather_v out_o of_o the_o same_o verse_n 18_o for_o i_o count_v etc._n etc._n the_o very_a word_n wherewith_o the_o apostle_n begin_v this_o verse_n be_v a_o particle_n causal_n as_o we_o use_v to_o say_v do_v sufficient_o prove_v that_o it_o be_v a_o reason_n utter_v be_v far_a beyond_o nature_n yea_o altogether_o contrary_a to_o the_o same_o for_o what_o worldly_a wise_a natural_a mind_a man_n can_v either_o see_v in_o affliction_n the_o glory_n that_o the_o son_n and_o servant_n of_o god_n behold_v and_o fall_v in_o the_o same_o or_o else_o can_v oppose_v the_o incomprehensible_a joy_n of_o eternal_a life_n against_o those_o exceed_a hardness_n and_o great_a distress_n they_o rather_o suppose_v all_o thing_n to_o be_v direct_v by_o secondary_a cause_n or_o to_o speak_v as_o they_o themselves_o say_v by_o the_o course_n of_o nature_n or_o direction_n of_o fortune_n who_o indeed_o be_v so_o far_o off_o from_o perceive_v these_o heavenly_a joy_n and_o comfort_n that_o they_o be_v carry_v away_o with_o conceit_n either_o to_o use_v unlawful_a mean_n to_o free_v they_o from_o affliction_n or_o else_o fearful_o fall_v into_o all_o mutter_n and_o repine_v against_o god_n or_o to_o all_o impatiency_n before_o man_n the_o reason_n be_v because_o they_o be_v not_o acquaint_v with_o the_o comfort_n of_o god_n child_n nor_o have_v no_o feel_n of_o the_o joy_n of_o the_o life_n that_o be_v to_o come_v alas_o alas_o they_o know_v not_o indeed_o what_o either_o the_o one_o or_o the_o other_o mean_v 2.14_o 1._o cor._n 2.14_o for_o these_o thing_n be_v spiritual_a but_o they_o themselves_o be_v carnal_a sell_v under_o sin_n and_o therefore_o unmeete_a to_o discern_v of_o the_o same_o 7.14_o rom._n 7.14_o because_o they_o must_v be_v spiritual_o judge_v out_o of_o all_o which_o lay_v together_o we_o may_v learn_v sundry_a good_a lesson_n as_o first_o that_o howsoever_o we_o do_v either_o for_o the_o express_v of_o our_o own_o feeling_n or_o the_o better_a fructifieng_v of_o the_o word_n in_o the_o heart_n of_o those_o the_o church_n of_o god_n the_o neglect_n of_o this_o special_o while_o man_n go_v about_o to_o magnify_v their_o own_o person_n and_o opinion_n have_v be_v the_o mean_a heretofore_o of_o many_o heresy_n sect_n and_o error_n in_o the_o church_n of_o god_n and_o may_v bring_v forth_o the_o same_o bitter_a fruit_n hereafter_o except_o it_o please_v god_n to_o give_v man_n better_a grace_n to_o look_v unto_o themselves_o second_o it_o teach_v we_o that_o so_o soon_o as_o god_n begin_v to_o lay_v upon_o we_o his_o rod_n and_o cross_n of_o trial_n that_o then_o we_o shall_v learn_v not_o only_o in_o the_o spirit_n of_o patience_n &_o comfort_n to_o submit_v ourselves_o under_o his_o mighty_a hand_n but_o with_o alferuency_n of_o prayer_n to_o crave_v the_o clear_n of_o our_o understanding_n 1.5_o james_n 1.5_o and_o all_o holy_a wisdom_n also_o as_o s._n james_n call_v it_o that_o we_o may_v both_o see_v his_o way_n in_o his_o work_n &_o learn_v to_o espy_v out_o and_o feel_v the_o consolation_n and_o comfort_n that_o he_o have_v provide_v for_o we_o that_o so_o we_o sink_v not_o down_o under_o the_o burden_n of_o our_o calamity_n but_o be_v raise_v up_o rather_o to_o all_o feel_a hope_n a_o point_n that_o we_o have_v need_v to_o strive_v unto_o by_o all_o holy_a mean_n possible_a aswell_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o blindness_n &_o blockishness_n of_o our_o own_o nature_n and_o the_o diffidence_n and_o distrust_n of_o our_o own_o heart_n as_o also_o because_o of_o satan_n continual_a malice_n who_o labour_v at_o all_o time_n but_o special_o in_o the_o day_n of_o our_o great_a heaviness_n our_o most_o fearful_a destruction_n and_o whereas_o the_o apostle_n say_v i_o count_v he_o mean_v that_o he_o come_v with_o a_o upright_o judgement_n in_o a_o even_a pair_n of_o balance_n &_o scale_n as_o it_o be_v have_v right_o &_o religios_o examine_v reason_n on_o both_o side_n and_o gather_v all_o into_o a_o just_a sum_n to_o weigh_v the_o trouble_n the_o height_n and_o top_n of_o all_o perfection_n in_o this_o world_n but_o as_o wise_a physician_n yea_o as_o good_a christian_n intermingle_v sweet_a thing_n and_o sour_a thing_n together_o and_o compare_v one_o of_o they_o so_o with_o a_o other_o that_o as_o they_o see_v in_o their_o affliction_n a_o evident_a pattern_n of_o the_o misery_n &_o mortality_n of_o their_o own_o life_n and_o a_o plain_a proof_n of_o the_o justice_n and_o judgement_n of_o god_n against_o sin_n so_o they_o make_v the_o same_o a_o profitable_a mean_n to_o themselves_o not_o only_o in_o a_o christian_n and_o comfortable_a death_n but_o in_o a_o holy_a life_n also_o so_o long_o as_o god_n will_v have_v they_o to_o live_v upon_o the_o face_n of_o the_o earth_n to_o meet_v with_o the_o lord_n and_o to_o glorify_v his_o most_o bless_a name_n and_o this_o do_v teach_v we_o upright_o to_o weigh_v and_o to_o examine_v as_o all_o thing_n general_o so_o special_o and_o particular_o spiritual_a point_n which_o indeed_o by_o reason_n that_o they_o be_v more_o excellent_a than_o bodily_a matter_n and_o in_o that_o respect_n also_o in_o their_o own_o nature_n more_o remoove_v from_o our_o comprehension_n than_o the_o rest_n have_v therefore_o need_v most_o deep_o to_o be_v look_v into_o for_o though_o by_o the_o line_n and_o light_n of_o our_o reason_n we_o may_v be_v somewhat_o holpen_v to_o wade_v into_o worldly_a thing_n yet_o in_o matter_n of_o faith_n and_o religion_n we_o can_v not_o only_o not_o pierce_v any_o thing_n at_o all_o by_o the_o light_n &_o sight_n of_o our_o own_o understanding_n but_o shall_v be_v much_o hurt_n and_o hinder_v thereby_o from_o the_o same_o if_o we_o yield_v to_o follow_v it_o yea_o many_o time_n even_o in_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o life_n we_o be_v so_o blockish_a &_o devoide_a of_o judgement_n that_o what_o by_o reason_n of_o colour_n cast_v upon_o worldly_a thing_n and_o what_o by_o the_o blindness_n and_o ignorance_n of_o our_o own_o heart_n on_o the_o one_o side_n and_o the_o partiality_n that_o
holy_a conversation_n and_o godliness_n to_o look_v for_o the_o come_n of_o the_o lord_n declare_v that_o the_o heaven_n be_v on_o fire_n shall_v be_v dissolve_v and_o the_o element_n shall_v melt_v with_o heat_n and_o the_o earth_n with_o the_o work_n that_o be_v therein_o shall_v be_v burn_v up_o and_o though_o this_o be_v most_o true_a that_o the_o apostle_n understand_v by_o that_o word_n creature_n heaven_n and_o earth_n with_o all_o creature_n therein_o contain_v yet_o we_o must_v notwithstanding_o except_v from_o that_o general_a and_o that_o for_o the_o cause_n and_o reason_n for_o it_o may_v be_v that_o god_n at_o some_o one_o time_n or_o other_o may_v pull_v he_o out_o of_o that_o great_a puddle_n of_o corruption_n into_o which_o through_o many_o error_n if_o not_o heresy_n he_o be_v deep_o sink_v and_o bring_v he_o again_o into_o the_o way_n of_o truth_n and_o salvation_n from_o which_o he_o have_v stray_v but_o leave_v the_o person_n let_v we_o come_v to_o the_o point_n concern_v the_o first_o to_o wit_n that_o the_o creature_n after_o their_o restitution_n and_o revocation_n at_o the_o general_a resurrection_n shall_v continue_v and_o remain_v for_o ever_o i_o thinck_v this_o reason_n shall_v carry_v some_o force_n and_o weight_n with_o it_o against_o the_o same_o namely_o that_o for_o as_o much_o as_o all_o man_n some_o few_o only_o except_v do_v confidenthe_n and_o groundedlie_o affirm_v that_o after_o the_o general_a resurrection_n there_o shall_v be_v no_o use_n of_o the_o creature_n that_o therefore_o also_o there_o shall_v be_v no_o eternal_a durableness_n or_o continuance_n of_o they_o for_o if_o in_o the_o first_o creation_n when_o god_n in_o his_o almighty_a and_o everlasting_a knowledge_n foresee_v that_o confusion_n
