and_o a_o fit_a say_n that_o our_o misery_n contract_v by_o sin_n be_v a_o antecedent_n impulsive_a cause_n of_o god_n mercy_n in_o deliver_v up_o christ_n for_o we_o all_o nevertheless_o i_o do_v utter_o deny_v that_o our_o sin_n be_v the_o meritorious_a cause_n of_o christ_n death_n or_o suffering_n i_o grant_v that_o our_o sin_n be_v the_o occasion_n of_o christ_n suffering_n but_o i_o deny_v that_o our_o sin_n do_v merit_v his_o suffering_n and_o i_o have_v just_a and_o great_a cause_n so_o to_o do_v forasmuch_o as_o our_o logic_n tell_v we_o that_o there_o be_v a_o great_a under_o a_o obligation_n to_o suffer_v except_o he_o have_v be_v under_o or_o have_v take_v upon_o he_o our_o obligation_n to_o suffer_v 2._o that_o he_o can_v not_o else_o have_v be_v say_v to_o bear_v our_o sin_n to_o be_v make_v sin_n for_o we_o to_o have_v our_o sin_n lay_v upon_o he_o to_o die_v for_o they_o nor_o to_o be_v our_o ransom_n 3._o that_o without_o this_o the_o inflict_a of_o suffering_n upon_o christ_n can_v not_o have_v be_v either_o good_a in_o itself_o or_o a_o act_n of_o rectoral_a justice_n in_o god_n or_o have_v have_v any_o tendency_n to_o his_o glory_n or_o all_o therefore_o although_o guilt_n as_o he_o say_v must_v be_v suppose_v antecedent_n to_o a_o demerit_n of_o punishment_n yet_o where_o there_o be_v no_o such_o demerit_n as_o in_o christ_n there_o be_v not_o there_o it_o be_v not_o necessary_a to_o suppose_v any_o antecedent_n guilt_n nor_o indeed_o in_o any_o case_n but_o where_o the_o person_n suffering_n be_v proper_o punish_v which_o christ_n he_o or_o take_v upon_o he_o and_o yet_o he_o may_v be_v say_v in_o some_o improper_a sense_n to_o be_v oblige_v to_o punishment_n i_o do_v not_o mean_v the_o word_n improper_o in_o reference_n to_o oblige_v for_o christ_n obligation_n to_o suffering_n however_o it_o be_v not_o at_o all_o obligatio_fw-la criminis_fw-la yet_o be_v true_o obligatio_fw-la contractus_fw-la it_o be_v therefore_o in_o than_o be_v our_o justification_n for_o as_o the_o apostle_n somewhere_o say_v we_o have_v redemption_n through_o his_o blood_n even_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o our_o sin_n so_o he_o do_v elsewhere_o
