upon_o we_o be_v that_o it_o will_v provoke_v providence_n to_o inflict_v great_a evil_n upon_o we_o god_n expect_v a_o cheerful_a submission_n from_o we_o to_o all_o his_o appointment_n and_o that_o we_o shall_v patient_o wait_v upon_o his_o will_n and_o pleasure_n for_o the_o event_n of_o all_o who_o have_v promise_v neither_o to_o leave_v nor_o forsake_v we_o if_o we_o put_v our_o trust_n in_o his_o mercy_n a_o humble_a spirit_n be_v the_o best_a sacrifice_n we_o can_v offer_v up_o to_o he_o and_o nothing_o be_v more_o displease_v to_o he_o than_o to_o murmur_v or_o repine_v at_o any_o of_o his_o correction_n all_o his_o judgement_n be_v do_v in_o justice_n and_o equity_n but_o for_o we_o to_o find_v fault_n with_o they_o be_v to_o make_v ourselves_o wise_a than_o he._n how_o careful_a then_o ought_v we_o to_o be_v least_o by_o our_o immoderate_a sorrow_n for_o any_o affliction_n he_o have_v lay_v upon_o we_o we_o shall_v seem_v displease_v at_o any_o of_o his_o do_n and_o thereby_o draw_v down_o his_o vengeance_n upon_o we_o for_o who_o can_v stand_v before_o he_o when_o once_o he_o be_v angry_a diffidence_n or_o distrust_n of_o god_n be_v one_o of_o the_o great_a sin_n we_o can_v be_v guilty_a of_o against_o he_o because_o it_o seem_v to_o question_v those_o great_a and_o tender_a attribute_n his_o goodness_n and_o mercy_n and_o therefore_o if_o we_o offend_v in_o that_o kind_n we_o may_v be_v assure_v that_o he_o will_v not_o let_v so_o great_a a_o sin_n go_v unpunished_a but_o will_v make_v use_n of_o another_o attribute_n that_o of_o his_o justice_n to_o convince_v we_o of_o the_o abuse_n we_o have_v make_v of_o his_o mercy_n it_o be_v our_o duty_n then_o grateful_o to_o acknowledge_v the_o goodness_n of_o god_n continual_o to_o we_o and_o not_o repine_v because_o we_o may_v think_v we_o be_v now_o become_v miserable_a but_o be_v thankful_a to_o he_o that_o we_o be_v not_o always_o so_o he_o be_v under_o no_o obligation_n to_o make_v we_o happy_a but_o what_o proceed_v from_o his_o own_o good_a will_n and_o pleasure_n how_o then_o ought_v we_o in_o wisdom_n as_o well_o as_o justice_n to_o resign_v all_o that_o we_o have_v a_o concern_v for_o to_o his_o alone_a disposal_n who_o order_v all_o thing_n so_o for_o our_o happiness_n as_o though_o he_o can_v do_v no_o otherwise_o and_o who_o contrive_v every_o thing_n so_o much_o for_o our_o good_a as_o if_o he_o himself_o can_v not_o be_v happy_a unless_o we_o also_o be_v so_o too_o and_o who_o have_v do_v so_o much_o already_o to_o advance_v our_o interest_n that_o we_o have_v the_o great_a reason_n to_o believe_v that_o it_o will_v be_v our_o fault_n if_o he_o be_v not_o always_o the_o same_o to_o we_o if_o we_o consider_v the_o mercy_n we_o have_v receive_v and_o weigh_v they_o against_o the_o evil_n we_o have_v suffer_v we_o shall_v find_v infinite_o great_a cause_n to_o be_v continual_o break_v forth_o into_o expression_n of_o praise_n and_o thanksgiving_n for_o our_o enjoyment_n than_o to_o repine_v at_o our_o misery_n what_o mighty_a return_v of_o gratitude_n shall_v this_o one_o amaze_a consideration_n draw_v from_o we_o that_o not_o withstand_v all_o our_o provocation_n he_o be_v liberal_a gracious_a and_o merciful_a to_o we_o and_o that_o we_o still_o receive_v new_a mercy_n from_o he_o though_o our_o sin_n against_o he_o have_v deserve_v the_o great_a of_o punishment_n i_o shall_v beg_v leave_n to_o add_v to_o this_o that_o admirable_a passage_n of_o that_o great_a emperor_n marcus_n antoninus_n can_v god_n say_v he_o for_o the_o succession_n of_o so_o many_o age_n bear_v without_o indignation_n with_o so_o great_a and_o so_o many_o sinner_n as_o have_v ever_o yet_o be_v and_o not_o only_o so_o but_o also_o provide_v for_o they_o that_o they_o want_v nothing_o and_o do_v thou_o so_o violent_o grieve_v at_o any_o thing_n he_o have_v take_v from_o thou_o as_o one_o that_o can_v bear_v with_o he_o no_o long_o thou_o that_o be_v but_o for_o a_o i_o think_v most_o necessary_a and_o useful_a as_o well_o for_o the_o prevent_v our_o sorrow_n and_o affliction_n as_o for_o the_o support_v we_o under_o they_o for_o if_o we_o real_o think_v it_o worth_a our_o while_n to_o purchase_v to_o ourselves_o true_a peace_n and_o tranquillity_n of_o mind_n we_o shall_v certain_o find_v that_o these_o consideration_n which_o i_o have_v insist_v upon_o may_v be_v of_o great_a moment_n to_o we_o towards_o the_o procure_n of_o it_o for_o if_o we_o first_o of_o all_o will_v fix_v in_o our_o mind_n true_a notion_n of_o all_o outward_a thing_n with_o the_o real_a uses_n and_o end_v of_o they_o how_o that_o they_o be_v lend_v we_o by_o providence_n to_o try_v our_o prudence_n in_o the_o management_n of_o they_o and_o not_o to_o be_v make_v the_o subject_a of_o our_o happiness_n but_o only_o the_o exercise_n of_o our_o virtue_n we_o shall_v certain_o reap_v these_o advantage_n from_o it_o first_o whatever_o outward_a blessing_n providence_n bestow_v upon_o we_o we_o shall_v receive_v they_o with_o all_o thankfulness_n as_o blessing_n which_o flow_v to_o we_o from_o god_n immediate_a bounty_n and_o not_o give_v we_o upon_o any_o account_n of_o our_o own_o deserve_n and_o second_o we_o shall_v use_v they_o with_o moderation_n and_o not_o fix_v our_o heart_n and_o mind_n upon_o they_o and_o then_o this_o will_v teach_v we_o in_o the_o three_o place_n to_o bear_v the_o loss_n of_o they_o with_o patience_n because_o we_o shall_v consider_v they_o as_o thing_n not_o real_o our_o own_o but_o his_o that_o give_v they_o to_o we_o and_o that_o not_o absolute_o but_o upon_o condition_n such_o as_o give_v we_o only_o a_o limit_a use_n of_o they_o but_o leave_v to_o providence_n the_o absolute_a right_n and_o disposal_n of_o they_o and_o from_o these_o conclusion_n what_o i_o observe_v in_o the_o second_o place_n will_v necessary_o follow_v that_o it_o be_v our_o chief_a interest_n to_o live_v up_o exact_o to_o the_o principle_n of_o religion_n which_o will_v guide_v we_o to_o the_o great_a foundation_n of_o all_o happiness_n the_o resigning_n up_o ourselves_o to_o the_o will_n and_o pleasure_n of_o providence_n which_o
