either_o power_n or_o prudence_n as_o a_o wall_a town_n and_o great_a ruler_n may_v have_v no_o cause_n to_o glory_n of_o any_o excellency_n in_o they_o above_o other_o to_o make_v themselves_o again_o doct._n 1._o the_o lord_n will_v so_o have_v a_o care_n of_o all_o his_o people_n as_o however_o he_o see_v meet_v to_o humble_v some_o of_o they_o at_o some_o time_n and_o to_o delay_v his_o help_n till_o they_o be_v humble_v yet_o it_o be_v not_o his_o purpose_n to_o deny_v they_o altogether_o therefore_o be_v the_o promise_n make_v particular_o to_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o jerusalem_n and_o david_n house_n to_o show_v that_o however_o he_o will_v prefer_v judabâ—_n tent_n to_o they_o in_o the_o matter_n of_o speedy_a help_n yet_o he_o will_v not_o reject_v they_o in_o that_o day_n shall_v the_o lord_n defend_v the_o inhabitant_n of_o jerusalem_n etc._n etc._n 2._o the_o lord_n protection_n be_v the_o sure_a safeguard_n of_o his_o church_n beyond_o any_o thing_n they_o get_v strength_n to_o do_v themselves_o yea_o it_o be_v the_o strength_n of_o their_o strength_n to_o abide_v under_o his_o shadow_n with_o it_o therefore_o be_v the_o promise_n of_o defence_n premit_v to_o that_o of_o their_o strength_n as_o be_v their_o sure_a refuge_n and_o that_o which_o make_v they_o strong_a the_o lord_n will_v defend_v jerusalem_n &_o he_o that_o be_v feeble_a shall_v be_v as_o david_n etc._n etc._n 3._o however_o the_o lord_n may_v keep_v his_o people_n in_o a_o low_a &_o weak_a condition_n for_o their_o exercise_n yet_o he_o have_v undertake_v to_o let_v out_o proof_n of_o his_o strength_n in_o they_o in_o a_o time_n of_o need_n in_o a_o singular_a way_n and_o will_v make_v their_o weakness_n in_o themselves_o a_o presage_n of_o their_o be_v strengthen_v in_o he_o he_o that_o be_v feeble_a among_o they_o at_o that_o day_n shall_v be_v as_o david_n 4._o none_o do_v attain_v in_o this_o life_n to_o that_o measure_n of_o strength_n and_o courage_n but_o they_o do_v yet_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o more_o and_o aught_o to_o be_v on_o the_o grow_a hand_n for_o the_o house_n of_o david_n need_v a_o promise_n of_o this_o as_o well_o as_o the_o feeble_a 5._o as_o jerusalem_n in_o the_o seven_o promise_n god_n purpose_n of_o destroy_v the_o church_n enemy_n be_v repear_v and_o confirm_v that_o though_o they_o be_v never_o so_o many_o yet_o god_n will_v destroy_v they_o and_o will_v be_v serious_a in_o effectuate_a it_o seek_v out_o secret_a plotter_n as_o well_o as_o open_a enemy_n or_o seek_v they_o out_o after_o they_o be_v scatter_v and_o their_o enterprise_n frustrate_v to_o ruin_v they_o doct._n 1._o the_o lord_n church_n have_v many_o enemy_n both_o open_a and_o secret_a enemy_n stand_v yet_o unbroken_a and_o these_o who_o though_o they_o be_v break_v yet_o remain_v enemy_n for_o there_o be_v a_o all_o of_o the_o nation_n that_o come_v against_o jerusalem_n 2._o albeit_o some_o who_o persecute_v and_o oppose_v the_o church_n of_o god_n may_v find_v mercy_n to_o come_v and_o join_v with_o she_o and_o be_v save_v yet_o for_o the_o most_o part_n it_o be_v a_o token_n of_o so_o much_o displeasure_n and_o so_o many_o former_a controversy_n against_o man_n when_o they_o be_v leâ—t_v to_o themselves_o to_o be_v persecutor_n that_o their_o destruction_n only_o will_v end_v it_o i_o will_v destroy_v all_o the_o nation_n etc._n etc._n be_v the_o ordinary_a issue_n of_o their_o be_v enemy_n 3._o the_o lord_n be_v not_o slack_a or_o remiss_a in_o avenge_a injury_n do_v to_o the_o church_n but_o will_v do_v it_o as_o drought_n have_v not_o only_o destroy_v the_o fruit_n of_o all_o kind_n and_o make_v all_o man_n endeavour_n useless_a but_o he_o have_v make_v man_n and_o beast_n feel_v it_o also_o by_o want_n of_o drink_n and_o food_n and_o by_o disease_n which_o such_o a_o season_n occasion_n v._o 11._o doct._n 1._o even_o rod_n when_o they_o be_v send_v on_o do_v not_o soon_o work_v nor_o speak_v god_n mind_n to_o a_o afflict_a people_n to_o any_o purpose_n therefore_o here_o the_o observation_n and_o use_n of_o their_o râ—d_n be_v again_o inculcate_v 2._o when_o the_o lord_n be_v provoke_v he_o can_v care_n of_o these_o thing_n take_v they_o up_o from_o mind_v god_n work_n and_o matter_n and_o that_o they_o be_v take_v up_o with_o the_o worst_a thing_n neglect_v the_o best_a thus_o to_o seek_v to_o gain_n be_v indeed_o to_o lose_v for_o zeal_n for_o the_o public_a and_o work_v of_o god_n be_v the_o compendious_a way_n to_o prosper_v in_o our_o private_a affair_n this_o be_v the_o true_a cause_n of_o their_o want_n because_o of_o my_o house_n that_o be_v waste_v and_o you_o run_v every_o man_n to_o his_o own_o house_n 7._o it_o be_v useful_a for_o secure_a sinner_n be_v afflict_v by_o god_n to_o take_v a_o serious_a view_n of_o the_o rod_n upon_o they_o that_o they_o may_v see_v more_o of_o the_o bitter_a fruit_n of_o sin_n then_o can_v be_v discern_v at_o first_o therefore_o do_v the_o lord_n repeat_v and_o enlarge_v the_o sight_n of_o their_o stroke_n v._o 10_o 11._o that_o therein_o they_o may_v see_v god_n provoke_v to_o be_v their_o party_n in_o who_o favour_n their_o voice_n be_v in_o his_o word_n who_o he_o have_v send_v 2._o it_o will_v be_v a_o notable_a mean_n to_o make_v the_o word_n effectual_a when_o beside_o the_o absolute_a authority_n of_o god_n speak_v in_o his_o word_n his_o interest_n in_o his_o people_n be_v consider_v and_o believe_v by_o they_o and_o that_o he_o who_o speak_v and_o reprove_v and_o direct_v be_v their_o confederate_a god_n who_o so_o much_o to_o be_v support_v in_o this_o extremity_n as_o by_o way_n of_o violence_n on_o the_o band_n of_o his_o neighbour_n and_o his_o hand_n shall_v rise_v up_o against_o the_o band_n of_o his_o neighbour_n 2._o intestine_a dissension_n among_o a_o people_n be_v a_o evidence_n of_o a_o great_a judgement_n from_o the_o lord_n upon_o they_o and_o of_o a_o madness_n for_o it_o be_v a_o great_a tumult_n from_o the_o lord_n among_o they_o that_o cause_v this_o which_o be_v the_o posture_n and_o carriage_n of_o mad_a man_n 3._o no_o wisdom_n of_o man_n nor_o politic_a principle_n wherein_o they_o be_v unite_v will_v keep_v they_o together_o who_o be_v not_o at_o one_o in_o god_n and_o in_o his_o way_n but_o when_o he_o have_v they_o to_o ruin_v he_o can_v shake_v they_o and_o apparel_n in_o great_a abundance_n the_o three_o judgement_n upon_o they_o shall_v be_v that_o god_n shall_v employ_v his_o people_n to_o act_v for_o their_o own_o defence_n and_o give_v they_o so_o complete_a a_o victory_n as_o that_o they_o shall_v gather_v the_o rich_a spoil_n of_o enemy_n to_o make_v up_o themselves_o doct._n 1._o albeit_o deliverance_n to_o the_o church_n be_v sweet_a by_o whatever_o mean_v god_n send_v it_o yet_o it_o be_v a_o special_a token_n of_o favour_n when_o god_n employ_v his_o people_n and_o make_v they_o instrumental_a in_o their_o own_o deliverance_n from_o enemy_n for_o so_o it_o be_v that_o judah_n also_o shall_v fight_v and_o consequent_o prevail_v at_o jerusalem_n it_o be_v a_o public_a evidence_n of_o god_n be_v with_o they_o and_o intend_v their_o good_a in_o these_o deliverance_n 2._o as_o man_n that_o spoil_v all_o the_o world_n to_o enrich_v themselves_o ordinary_o be_v never_o satisfy_v so_o especial_o enemy_n their_o come_n against_o the_o church_n be_v not_o so_o much_o out_o of_o poverty_n or_o want_n as_o cruelty_n and_o desire_n of_o her_o blood_n for_o they_o have_v wealth_n gold_n silver_z and_o apparel_n in_o abundance_n and_o yet_o must_v trouble_v the_o world_n more_o and_o they_o be_v not_o well_o enough_o unless_o they_o drink_v the_o church_n blood_n 3._o when_o the_o lord_n send_v trouble_n upon_o his_o people_n it_o be_v his_o way_n to_o make_v they_o up_o thereby_o ere_o all_o be_v do_v for_o all_o this_o wealth_n be_v gather_v that_o judah_n hay_v obtain_v victory_n may_v be_v enrich_v by_o the_o spoil_n ver._n 15_o and_o so_o shall_v be_v the_o plague_n of_o the_o horse_n of_o the_o mule_n of_o the_o camel_n and_o of_o the_o ass_n and_o of_o all_o the_o beast_n that_o shall_v be_v in_o these_o tent_n as_o this_o plague_n the_o conclusion_n of_o this_o threaten_n be_v that_o not_o only_o the_o enemy_n themselves_o shall_v feel_v this_o judgement_n but_o the_o very_a mean_n employ_v by_o they_o in_o their_o war_n whether_o mercenary_a soldier_n who_o employ_v themselves_o in_o war_n for_o gain_v and_o so_o be_v like_o beast_n or_o rather_o literal_o their_o beast_n for_o truth_n cause_n from_o your_o lordship_n as_o require_v a_o more_o worthy_a testimony_n and_o acknowledgement_n of_o my_o obligation_n and_o bind_v duty_n to_o honour_v you_o than_o be_v this_o piece_n as_o to_o what_o be_v my_o part_n in_o it_o yet_o such_o as_o it_o be_v i_o make_v bold_a to_o offer_v it_o to_o your_o lordship_n and_o be_v a_o exposition_n of_o holy_a scripture_n and_o proof_n of_o what_o he_o say_v 2._o as_o the_o lord_n presence_n with_o his_o people_n as_o a_o reconcile_a god_n be_v a_o
will_v be_v see_v by_o she_o that_o she_o may_v be_v stir_v up_o to_o her_o duty_n so_o the_o best_a sight_n of_o they_o and_o expound_v of_o their_o way_n be_v have_v from_o god_n whereby_o she_o it_o but_o rather_o to_o think_v sin_n a_o duty_n this_o be_v the_o snare_n and_o judgement_n of_o ruler_n here_o their_o possessor_n slay_v they_o and_o hold_v themselves_o not_o guilty_a 7._o and_o trust_v to_o their_o purification_n and_o offering_n isa_n 1.11_o 15._o jer._n 7.9_o 10._o 2._o god_n construct_v of_o man_n profane_v of_o his_o worship_n any_o way_n as_o do_v against_o to_o be_v follow_v nor_o he_o worthy_a of_o our_o best_a thing_n therefore_o he_o appeal_v to_o themselves_o who_o for_o present_a will_v not_o be_v convince_v if_o you_o offer_v the_o blind_a for_o signify_v by_o the_o sick_a sacrifice_n doct._n 5._o it_o be_v the_o high_a presumption_n and_o atheism_n and_o will_v be_v the_o sad_a challenge_n of_o man_n that_o they_o please_v themselves_o in_o offer_v that_o unto_o god_n and_o do_v that_o in_o his_o service_n which_o they_o dare_v not_o do_v unto_o a_o superior_a mortal_a man_n and_o which_o they_o know_v well_o enough_o man_n will_v take_v
