A64939 A review and examination of a book bearing the title of The history of the indulgence wherein the lawfulness of the acceptance of the peaceable exercise of the ministry granted by the Acts of the magistrates indulgence is demonstrated, contrary objections answered, and the vindication of such as withdraw from hearing indulged ministers is confuted : to which is added a survey of the mischievous absurdities of the late bond and Sanquhair declaration. presbyterian_o for_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n as_o seditious_a conventicle_n so_o that_o suppose_v that_o be_v say_v which_o yet_o no_o judicious_a person_n will_v allege_v that_o there_o be_v no_o true_a worship_n of_o god_n except_o in_o these_o meeting_n which_o be_v call_v conventicle_n it_o will_v not_o be_v allege_v that_o it_o be_v the_o magistrate_n design_v to_o bear_v down_o the_o true_a worship_n of_o god_n see_v these_o meeting_n in_o several_a place_n of_o these_o kingdom_n be_v not_o suppress_v and_o if_o some_o preacher_n have_v not_o vent_v doctrine_n which_o be_v real_o seditious_a at_o some_o of_o those_o conventicle_n presbyterian_a minister_n and_o people_n who_o design_v nothing_o but_o the_o preach_n and_o hear_v of_o the_o gospel_n of_o peace_n will_v not_o have_v be_v molest_v as_o they_o be_v but_o the_o seditious_a turbulent_a doctrine_n of_o some_o do_v breed_v much_o trouble_n to_o other_o who_o be_v innocent_a it_o can_v be_v deny_v that_o there_o be_v some_o meeting_n where_o such_o doctrine_n be_v teach_v by_o the_o preacher_n and_o applaud_v and_o practise_v by_o hearer_n that_o it_o be_v no_o wonder_n that_o the_o magistrate_n call_v they_o seditious_a and_o if_o the_o contriver_n of_o this_o bond_n have_v set_v themselves_o to_o devise_v a_o way_n to_o confirm_v the_o magistrate_n in_o call_v conventicle_n seditious_a they_o can_v not_o have_v fall_v upon_o a_o more_o effectual_a way_n than_o this_o contrivance_n which_o be_v indeed_o seditious_a and_o will_v ready_o be_v impute_v to_o many_o who_o abhor_v the_o seditious_a design_n and_o principle_n which_o be_v in_o this_o bond._n as_o for_o the_o reason_n why_o this_o sess_n shall_v not_o be_v pay_v viz._n because_o it_o be_v declare_v to_o be_v impose_v for_o a_o ill_a end_n they_o who_o be_v free_a to_o pay_v it_o will_v retort_v it_o be_v impose_v for_o a_o good_a end_n viz._n to_o put_v the_o kingdom_n in_o a_o posture_n of_o defence_n against_o invasion_n and_o therefore_o it_o shall_v be_v pay_v i_o know_v a_o judicious_a gentleman_n who_o say_v he_o will_v pay_v his_o sess_n for_o that_o end_n which_o be_v
