the_o last_o part_n be_v the_o petition_n which_o be_v proper_o call_v prayer_n in_o which_o we_o demand_v all_o that_o which_o be_v behoveful_a as_o well_o for_o the_o salvation_n of_o our_o self_n he_o can_v not_o eat_v of_o one_o he_o may_v eat_v of_o a_o other_o and_o that_o when_o he_o have_v make_v a_o end_n of_o meditation_n in_o one_o matter_n he_o may_v enter_v into_o a_o other_o and_o there_o find_v other_o matter_n wherein_o to_o continue_v his_o meditation_n i_o know_v right_a well_o that_o nether_a all_o these_o part_n nor_o this_o order_n be_v always_o necessary_a yet_o this_o manner_n will_v serve_v for_o novice_n and_o young_a beginner_n that_o so_o they_o may_v have_v some_o order_n &_o direction_n whereby_o to_o govern_v themselves_o at_o the_o beginning_n and_o to_o do_v we_o all_o this_o good_a and_o to_o have_v a_o especial_a care_n of_o our_o salvation_n to_o which_o he_o still_o attend_v with_o such_o providence_n and_o oversight_n as_o if_o void_a of_o thought_n all_o the_o day_n of_o the_o week_n not_o that_o thou_o may_v not_o think_v also_o as_o well_o of_o some_o other_o thing_n and_o in_o other_o day_n beside_o these_o for_o as_o have_v be_v say_v in_o the_o beginning_n what_o soever_o thing_n induce_v our_o hart_n to_o the_o love_n and_o fear_n of_o god_n and_o to_o the_o observation_n of_o his_o commaundment_n be_v fit_a matter_n for_o meditation_n nevertheless_a the_o aforesaid_a passage_n &_o consideration_n have_v be_v here_o set_v down_o for_o two_o cause_n the_o first_o whereof_o be_v because_o they_o be_v the_o principal_a mystery_n of_o our_o faith_n and_o such_o as_o of_o themselves_o move_v we_o more_o to_o that_o which_o we_o say_v to_o wit_n to_o the_o love_n &_o fear_v of_o god_n the_o second_o be_v that_o young_a beginner_n who_o have_v need_n of_o milk_n may_v find_v here_o chew_v &_o digest_v those_o thing_n of_o which_o they_o be_v to_o meditate_v to_o the_o end_n they_o go_v not_o as_o pilgrim_n in_o a_o strange_a country_n wander_v up_o and_o down_o through_o unknowen_a place_n and_o take_v some_o thing_n and_o leave_v other_o without_o have_v any_o stability_n or_o steadfastness_n in_o any_o it_o be_v also_o to_o be_v note_v that_o the_o meditation_n of_o this_o wecke_n be_v most_o fit_a as_o have_v be_v say_v for_o the_o begin_n of_o a_o man_n conversion_n that_o be_v when_o a_o man_n new_o turn_v himself_o to_o god_n for_o that_o then_o it_o behove_v to_o begin_v with_o those_o thing_n which_o may_v move_v we_o to_o sorrow_v &_o detestation_n of_o sin_n to_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n and_o contempt_n of_o the_o woorld_n which_o be_v the_o first_o entry_n of_o this_o way_v and_o therefore_o those_o that_o begin_v must_v persevere_v for_o some_o space_n of_o time_n in_o the_o consideration_n of_o these_o thing_n that_o they_o may_v by_o they_o be_v better_o found_v in_o the_o virtue_n and_o affect_n before_o mention_v of_o the_o other_o seven_o meditation_n of_o the_o sacred_a passion_n and_o of_o the_o manner_n which_o we_o must_v observe_v in_o they_o after_o the_o meditation_n which_o before_o we_o have_v lay_v down_o there_o follow_v other_o seven_o bless_a life_n but_o here_o we_o must_v understand_v that_o there_o be_v six_o thing_n to_o be_v chief_o consider_v in_o the_o passion_n of_o our_o saviour_n christ_n to_o wit_n the_o greatness_n of_o his_o pain_n that_o we_o may_v take_v compassion_n of_o they_o the_o grievousnes_n of_o our_o sin_n which_o be_v cause_n of_o his_o pain_n that_o we_o may_v abhor_v they_o the_o excellency_n of_o the_o benefit_n that_o
we_o may_v be_v thankful_a for_o it_o the_o magnificencie_n of_o the_o goodness_n and_o charity_n of_o almighty_a god_n which_o be_v here_o discover_v that_o we_o may_v hearty_o love_v the_o same_o the_o conveniency_n of_o this_o mystery_n that_o we_o may_v admire_v it_o and_o the_o multitude_n of_o the_o virtue_n of_o our_o saviour_n christ_n which_o do_v shine_n here_o so_o bright_o that_o we_o may_v be_v provoke_v thereby_o to_o imitate_v they_o now_o according_a to_o this_o when_o we_o go_v to_o meditate_v the_o passion_n we_o must_v endeavour_n to_o incline_v our_o hart_n some_o time_n to_o have_v compassion_n of_o the_o pain_n of_o our_o saviour_n christ_n for_o that_o they_o be_v the_o great_a that_o ever_o be_v suffer_v in_o this_o world_n as_o well_o for_o the_o he_o ought_v to_o have_v a_o gentel_n benign_a behaviour_n and_o affability_n towards_o all_o man_n use_v himself_o in_o conversation_n among_o they_o with_o all_o courtesy_n mildness_n and_o yet_o out_o of_o hand_n begin_v a_o fresh_a to_o offend_v he_o more_o than_o before_o the_o punishment_n that_o such_o person_n deserve_v be_v such_o as_o god_n for_o the_o most_o part_n permit_v
