by_o the_o bread_n the_o drink_n the_o light_n the_o fire_n the_o money_n the_o cross_n of_o the_o coin_n and_o to_o swear_v by_o their_o faith_n and_o troth_n and_o they_o that_o so_o swear_v think_v they_o swear_v no_o great_a oath_n and_o some_o swear_v superstitious_a oath_n by_o st._n mary_n by_o s._n anne_n and_o by_o the_o abominable_a idol_n the_o mass_n and_o some_o that_o swear_v by_o mince_v &_o detract_n oath_n as_o by_o mass_n by_o make_v and_o by_o lake_v god_n so_o and_o good_a lack_n be_v not_o this_o common_a among_o we_o yea_o too_o too_o common_a in_o your_o mouth_n now_o by_o swear_v thus_o what_o do_v you_o but_o sin_n fearful_o that_o which_o ought_v to_o be_v high_o honour_v in_o the_o matter_n of_o a_o oath_n you_o dishonour_v god_n exceed_o yea_o take_v notice_n we_o i_o may_v lay_v forth_o our_o come_n short_a in_o this_o in_o many_o other_o particular_n but_o take_v we_o notice_n of_o our_o fail_n by_o that_o which_o have_v be_v speak_v and_o now_o take_v to_o come_v to_o it_o and_o let_v neither_o profit_n nor_o ease_n nor_o pleasure_n nor_o honour_n nor_o credit_n in_o the_o world_n nor_o the_o dear_a thing_n we_o enjoy_v or_o hope_v hereafter_o to_o enjoy_v be_v dear_a to_o we_o then_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o the_o glory_n of_o christ_n if_o god_n call_v we_o to_o do_v or_o to_o suffer_v any_o thing_n for_o his_o name_n and_o glory_n and_o true_o belove_v of_o god_n and_o as_o his_o glory_n be_v dear_a to_o we_o so_o we_o be_v dear_a to_o he_o and_o as_o we_o honour_v he_o so_o will_v he_o honour_v we_o according_a to_o his_o own_o that_o before_o the_o best_a good_a thing_n we_o do_v enjoy_v or_o hope_v to_o enjoy_v and_o to_o hold_v that_o dear_a to_o we_o than_o our_o own_o soul_n now_o the_o apostle_n in_o this_o verse_n duty_n and_o there_o be_v good_a reason_n for_o it_o namely_o this_o nature_n itself_o by_o the_o very_a light_n of_o it_o teach_v this_o duty_n and_o bind_v to_o the_o performance_n of_o it_o to_o envy_n and_o to_o conclude_v in_o one_o word_n let_v we_o when_o we_o be_v wrong_v and_o hardly_o deal_v withal_o by_o malicious_a and_o spiteful_a enemy_n that_o be_v full_a of_o rancour_n and_o malice_n commit_v our_o cause_n unto_o the_o lord_n and_o without_o question_n his_o punishment_n will_v be_v great_a than_o the_o bitter_a stroke_n that_o we_o can_v wish_v to_o fall_v upon_o our_o enemy_n and_o therefore_o we_o ought_v to_o comfort_v ourselves_o with_o this_o when_o we_o be_v wrong_v that_o the_o lord_n will_v revenge_v our_o cause_n and_o he_o will_v show_v forth_o his_o manifestation_n of_o god_n justice_n and_o of_o god_n power_n which_o here_o be_v couple_v and_o put_v together_o in_o their_o destruction_n the_o destruction_n of_o the_o reprobate_n be_v indeed_o the_o near_a end_n in_o respect_n of_o reprobate_n themselves_o but_o god_n respect_v it_o no_o further_o then_o as_o it_o make_v and_o tend_v to_o the_o manifestation_n and_o declaration_n of_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o justice_n and_o power_n the_o high_a end_n which_o the_o lord_n aim_v at_o in_o the_o punishment_n and_o destruction_n of_o the_o wicked_a what_o be_v it_o it_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o that_o he_o may_v have_v his_o justice_n and_o power_n glorify_v the_o lord_n aim_v not_o at_o their_o destruction_n though_o it_o be_v the_o near_a end_n to_o they_o yet_o far_a off_o in_o god_n intention_n for_o he_o aim_v at_o his_o own_o justice_n and_o power_n glorification_n and_o to_o this_o purpose_n speak_v solomon_n express_o prov._n 16.4_o the_o lord_n have_v make_v all_o thing_n for_o his_o own_o sake_n yea_o the_o very_a wicked_a for_o the_o day_n of_o evil_n he_o have_v make_v they_o for_o the_o day_n of_o destruction_n aim_v therein_o at_o the_o manifestation_n
