so_o his_o promise_n on_o the_o one_o hand_n and_o our_o engagement_n on_o the_o other_o make_v up_o that_o new_a covenant_n which_o be_v the_o sum_n and_o substance_n of_o our_o christian_a religion_n and_o it_o be_v this_o new_a covenant_n which_o give_v we_o our_o great_a hope_n of_o salvation_n of_o heaven_n and_o eternal_a happiness_n for_o though_o we_o can_v do_v nothing_o to_o merit_n or_o deserve_v such_o infinite_a blessing_n yet_o as_o god_n have_v be_v please_v to_o promise_v they_o upon_o such_o and_o such_o condition_n our_o performance_n of_o these_o condition_n may_v give_v we_o a_o good_a claim_n and_o title_n to_o they_o for_o thus_o sir_n shall_v you_o contract_v and_o covenant_n with_o i_o to_o let_v i_o have_v and_o hold_v your_o estate_n upon_o this_o condition_n that_o i_o shall_v yearly_o pay_v you_o for_o it_o one_o pepper-corn_n though_o such_o a_o payment_n will_v come_v vast_o short_a of_o the_o worth_n of_o your_o estate_n yet_o by_o virtue_n of_o the_o say_a contract_n and_o covenant_n it_o will_v give_v i_o a_o just_a claim_n and_o title_n to_o it_o in_o like_a manner_n god_n contract_v and_o covenant_n with_o we_o to_o give_v we_o heaven_n and_o happiness_n upon_o the_o term_n of_o our_o faith_n and_o repentance_n and_o so_o though_o our_o faith_n and_o repentance_n come_v infinite_o more_o short_a of_o the_o worth_n of_o heaven_n and_o happiness_n than_o a_o pepper-corn_n do_v of_o your_o estate_n yet_o by_o virtue_n of_o the_o covenant_n which_o god_n make_v with_o we_o to_o give_v we_o heaven_n and_o happiness_n upon_o these_o condition_n of_o faith_n and_o repentance_n our_o performance_n of_o these_o condition_n give_v we_o a_o good_a title_n to_o all_o that_o heaven_n and_o happiness_n which_o be_v so_o gracious_o promise_v to_o we_o upon_o these_o term_n in_o short_a we_o can_v by_o our_o faith_n and_o repentance_n deserve_v and_o merit_v salvation_n no_o more_o than_o i_o can_v pretend_v to_o merit_v your_o estate_n by_o pay_v a_o pepper-corn_n for_o it_o no_o but_o as_o all_o the_o title_n which_o my_o punctual_a payment_n of_o a_o pepper-corn_n can_v give_v i_o to_o your_o estate_n will_v be_v but_o a_o covenant-title_n so_o it_o be_v no_o other_o but_o alike_o covenant-title_n which_o our_o faith_n and_o repentance_n give_v we_o to_o salvation_n that_o be_v to_o say_v they_o entitle_v we_o to_o salvation_n only_o as_o they_o be_v the_o term_n and_o condition_n upon_o which_o god_n in_o the_o new_a covenant_n have_v promise_v to_o save_v we_o and_o now_o sir_n you_o very_o well_o know_v that_o no_o covenant_n be_v of_o any_o force_n or_o bind_v till_o it_o be_v first_o sign_v and_o and_z seal_v till_o that_o solemnity_n be_v first_o over_o we_o have_v no_o legal_a title_n to_o the_o thing_n covenant_v for_o no_o but_o be_v the_o contract_n never_o so_o advantageous_a it_o must_v be_v first_o seal_v and_o sign_v before_o we_o can_v claim_v the_o benefit_n of_o it_o and_o thus_o have_v it_o please_v god_n after_o the_o manner_n of_o man_n to_o ratify_v his_o covenant_n with_o mankind_n as_o it_o be_v with_o sign_n and_o seal_n for_o so_o be_v circumcision_n a_o sign_n whereby_o the_o covenant_n between_o god_n and_o the_o jew_n be_v seal_v and_o confirm_v rom._n 4.11_o and_o till_o the_o covenant_n be_v so_o sign_v and_o seal_v it_o be_v of_o no_o force_n there_o be_v no_o benefit_n to_o be_v claim_v by_o it_o no_o but_o the_o uncircumcised_a manchild_n be_v to_o be_v cut_v off_o from_o god_n people_n that_o be_v he_o be_v not_o to_o be_v the_o sign_n and_o seal_n of_o that_o covenant_n to_o make_v it_o of_o force_n and_o to_o give_v we_o a_o legal_a claim_n to_o the_o blessing_n promise_v on_o god_n part_n upon_o our_o performance_n
