with_o some_o credit_n and_o countenance_n amongst_o man_n other_o some_o have_v scarce_o a_o morsel_n of_o bread_n to_o eat_v now_o if_o it_o be_v in_o we_o to_o order_v this_o matter_n we_o will_v that_o god_n shall_v use_v rather_o a_o equal_a and_o like_a measure_n yea_o but_o he_o know_v wherefore_o he_o choose_v rather_o such_o a_o diversity_n and_o therefore_o as_o i_o

find_v neither_o good_a nor_o evil_a neither_o in_o isaac_n nor_o in_o esau_n nor_o in_o jacob_n notwithstanding_o god_n choose_v the_o one_o and_o reject_v the_o other_o but_o the_o reply_n shall_v be_v easy_a in_o the_o opinion_n of_o these_o fantastical_a person_n and_o how_o it_o be_v true_a that_o there_o be_v neither_o good_a nor_o evil_a but_o there_o must_v be_v either_o good_a or_o the_o end_n he_o have_v no_o part_n nor_o portion_n in_o the_o church_n this_o thing_n show_v very_o well_o unto_o we_o that_o god_n will_v hold_v we_o always_o convict_v that_o there_o be_v no_o question_n of_o bring_v any_o thing_n before_o god_n on_o our_o part_n to_o thrust_v in_o ourselves_o there_o as_o if_o we_o have_v any_o valour_n and_o worthiness_n in_o we_o for_o god_n be_v not_o contrary_a to_o himself_o nevertheless_o he_o will_v show_v here_o a_o certain_a kind_n of_o repugnancy_n and_o contrariety_n it_o be_v he_o which_o ordain_v that_o the_o first_o bear_v of_o the_o of_o god_n but_o that_o therein_o there_o be_v our_o good_a will_n our_o good_a run_v and_o our_o good_a zeal_n man_n may_v so_o speak_v but_o saint_n paul_n will_v here_o make_v frustrate_a whatsoever_o man_n may_v bring_v of_o themselves_o and_o show_v that_o nothing_o have_v dominion_n herein_o but_o the_o only_a mercy_n of_o god_n it_o be_v very_o true_a that_o many_o people_n will_v enforce_v themselves_o yea_o and_o they_o allege_v the_o example_n of_o the_o jew_n who_o be_v swell_v as_o toad_n with_o a_o devilish_a kind_n of_o pride_n think_v that_o god_n be_v bind_v as_o it_o it_o be_v say_v that_o god_n will_v establish_v his_o covenant_n with_o isaac_n because_o abraham_n have_v obey_v his_o voice_n that_o it_o be_v not_o to_o note_v the_o cause_n why_o but_o it_o be_v only_o to_o show_v that_o the_o service_n which_o abraham_n yield_v unto_o he_o be_v acceptable_a to_o he_o to_o the_o end_n that_o isaac_n shall_v follow_v he_o and_o conform_v himself_o thereunto_o hereby_o therefore_o we_o have_v to_o stir_v up_o ourselves_o as_o often_o as_o we_o feel_v any_o slowness_n in_o ourselves_o and_o when_o we_o shall_v not_o be_v so_o dispose_v as_o be_v requisite_a to_o give_v ourselves_o full_o to_o the_o obedience_n of_o god_n and_o that_o we_o think_v what_o it_o be_v say_v
have_v say_v it_o be_v for_o we_o to_o content_v ourselves_o with_o his_o pleasure_n and_o so_o when_o it_o please_v he_o to_o make_v his_o servant_n to_o prosper_v in_o such_o sort_n that_o we_o may_v know_v for_o a_o surety_n that_o his_o blessing_n rest_v in_o their_o person_n it_o be_v a_o testimony_n of_o his_o goodness_n and_o hereof_o they_o ought_v to_o make_v their_o profit_n but_o when_o there_o be_v any_o sourness_n mingle_v with_o it_o they_o ought_v to_o think_v god_o will_v not_o that_o i_o shall_v sleep_v here_o nor_o rest_v myself_o so_o upon_o these_o earthly_a benefit_n that_o they_o shall_v make_v i_o to_o forget_v everlasting_a life_n it_o behove_v therefore_o that_o the_o faithful_a have_v this_o wisdom_n and_o consideration_n in_o they_o that_o always_o they_o know_v how_o to_o make_v their_o profit_n of_o those_o benefit_n that_o god_n bestow_v upon_o they_o &_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n that_o they_o forget_v not_o the_o favour_n that_o he_o have_v show_v unto_o they_o although_o that_o they_o have_v many_o care_n grief_n trouble_n and_o wrong_n which_o shall_v be_v do_v unto_o they_o by_o man_n and_o namely_o here_o both_o the_o rich_a &_o poor_a be_v teach_v their_o duty_n when_o a_o man_n shall_v be_v afflict_v with_o poverty_n and_o need_n yet_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n god_n will_v not_o suffer_v he_o to_o be_v so_o destitute_a and_o forsake_a but_o that_o always_o he_o shall_v have_v some_o little_a portion_n too_o the_o end_n he_o may_v feel_v that_o god_n have_v care_n of_o he_o and_o therefore_o when_o the_o faithful_a have_v not_o all_o that_o they_o desire_v but_o god_n leave_v they_o there_o as_o if_o he_o forsake_v they_o they_o must_v not_o therefore_o murmur_v against_o he_o nor_o think_v that_o he_o have_v cast_v they_o off_o but_o how_o little_a so_o ever_o it_o be_v that_o he_o have_v give_v they_o yea_o be_v it_o never_o so_o little_a they_o must_v apply_v it_o to_o taste_v the_o goodness_n of_o god_n so_o that_o common_a proverb_n be_v he_o that_o have_v land_n have_v war_n at_o hand_n if_o a_o man_n have_v but_o a_o acre_n of_o ground_n he_o shall_v either_o be_v draw_v into_o suit_n of_o law_n or_o else_o he_o shall_v have_v some_o other_o trouble_n about_o it_o as_o for_o the_o rich_a i_o say_v when_o they_o see_v these_o thing_n that_o they_o can_v possess_v their_o good_n with_o peace_n and_o quietness_n but_o that_o they_o shall_v always_o have_v some_o trouble_n and_o disquietness_n withal_o let_v they_o know_v that_o for_o all_o this_o they_o must_v not_o be_v distaste_v &_o that_o the_o blessing_n of_o god_n always_o give_v they_o courage_n to_o trust_v in_o he_o and_o that_o they_o be_v not_o lead_v to_o unthankfulness_n and_o forgetfulness_n but_o that_o always_o they_o bless_v his_o name_n and_o this_o be_v it_o that_o we_o have_v to_o note_v out_o of_o this_o place_n where_o it_o be_v say_v that_o god_n make_v isaac_n to_o prosper_v &_o that_o this_o be_v the_o cause_n that_o move_v the_o inhabitant_n of_o the_o country_n to_o envy_v he_o who_o therefore_o do_v drive_v he_o out_o from_o amongst_o they_o now_o it_o be_v say_v express_o that_o the_o king_n of_o gerar_n send_v unto_o he_o say_v we_o can_v suffer_v thou_o to_o tarry_v amongst_o we_o for_o thou_o be_v mighty_a than_o we_o here_o we_o see_v more_o clear_o that_o which_o erst_o i_o touch_v the_o way_n but_o god_n correct_v they_o &_o when_o they_o be_v stray_v here_o and_o there_o he_o bring_v they_o back_o into_o the_o good_a way_n but_o as_o for_o they_o who_o he_o have_v not_o yet_o regenerate_v and_o bear_v anew_o &_o who_o keep_v their_o natural_a inclination_n although_o it_o seem_v oftentimes_o that_o they_o will_v do_v marvel_n yet_o lo_o in_o the_o turn_n of_o a_o hand_n they_o be_v change_v we_o see_v this_o in_o the_o king_n of_o gerar_n ere_o while_o he_o be_v as_o a_o angel_n for_o when_o he_o speak_v of_o abuse_v another_o man_n wife_n he_o say_v that_o it_o be_v to_o infect_v the_o whole_a country_n and_o to_o cause_v the_o vengeance_n of_o god_n to_o come_v upon_o great_a and_o small_a behold_v a_o divine_a sentence_n it_o seem_v that_o god_n speak_v by_o his_o mouth_n and_o indeed_o there_o be_v no_o doubt_n but_o that_o this_o confession_n be_v wring_v from_o he_o both_o against_o himself_o &_o against_o all_o those_o who_o esteem_v this_o as_o a_o man_n shall_v say_v for_o a_o venial_a sin_n behold_v then_o abimilech_n who_o show_v that_o god_n have_v even_o enforce_v he_o &_o inflame_v he_o with_o such_o a_o zeal_n that_o he_o have_v this_o fault_n in_o great_a detestation_n for_o he_o know_v that_o it_o be_v displease_v to_o god_n and_o thereupon_o he_o cause_v his_o proclamation_n to_o be_v make_v that_o no_o man_n shall_v touch_v isaac_n nor_o his_o wife_n upon_o pain_n of_o death_n this_o be_v yet_o another_o commendable_a point_n it_o seem_v therefore_o that_o abimilech_n be_v whole_o become_v fear_v god_o but_o straight_o way_n after_o he_o say_v unto_o isaac_n away_o get_v thou_o hence_o he_o drive_v out_o isaac_n he_o know_v that_o isaac_n be_v under_o the_o protection_n of_o god_n and_o when_o he_o attempt_v any_o thing_n against_o he_o be_v it_o not_o as_o it_o be_v to_o despite_n god_n and_o to_o break_v the_o safeguard_n which_o he_o have_v set_v upon_o his_o servant_n let_v we_o learn_v therefore_o that_o see_v it_o be_v so_o to_o be_v so_o conversant_a amongst_o those_o which_o have_v no_o fear_n of_o god_n as_o that_o if_o they_o be_v gentle_a &_o courteous_a for_o a_o time_n unto_o we_o &_o know_v that_o unless_o god_n have_v imprint_v his_o fear_n in_o we_o and_o give_v we_o a_o lively_a root_n of_o it_o we_o shall_v never_o have_v any_o constancy_n or_o staidness_n in_o we_o let_v we_o pray_v unto_o he_o that_o it_o will_v please_v he_o to_o show_v unto_o we_o by_o effect_n that_o he_o have_v true_o renew_v we_o by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n &_o that_o we_o have_v not_o a_o zeal_n like_a unto_o a_o fire_n of_o stubble_n which_o quick_o go_v out_o but_o that_o we_o may_v desire_v always_o to_o march_v on_o forward_o in_o his_o obedience_n and_o to_o continue_v therein_o and_o although_o that_o we_o sometime_o slide_v from_o it_o as_o we_o be_v very_o weak_a notwithstanding_o that_o we_o be_v not_o clean_o mislead_v and_o carry_v away_o from_o he_o but_o that_o we_o may_v follow_v on_o our_o course_n even_o unto_o the_o end_n and_o so_o we_o have_v too_o beseech_v he_o from_o day_n to_o day_n that_o he_o will_v increase_v in_o we_o the_o grace_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n for_o be_v our_o desire_n never_o so_o good_a it_o be_v certain_a that_o we_o shall_v be_v quick_o cold_a and_o as_o our_o nature_n be_v unconstant_a we_o shall_v from_o this_o day_n ere_o too_o morrow_n be_v change_v be_v it_o not_o that_o god_n continue_v to_o govern_v we_o this_o be_v it_o in_o sum_n that_o we_o have_v to_o mark_v now_o the_o reason_n that_o be_v here_o bring_v by_o abimilech_n be_v take_v from_o common_a experience_n for_o we_o know_v that_o rich_a man_n despise_v the_o poor_a &_o he_o that_o have_v muck_n think_v that_o other_o be_v not_o equal_a unto_o he_o thereupon_o be_v he_o by_o and_o by_o puff_v up_o with_o pride_n and_o boldness_n and_o cruelty_n follow_v as_o it_o be_v say_v man_n be_v like_a unto_o horse_n when_o they_o be_v well_o feed_v they_o be_v wanton_a and_o untamed_a they_o kick_v they_o bite_v to_o be_v short_a they_o will_v not_o be_v ride_v
and_o that_o they_o be_v value_v of_o we_o as_o they_o ought_v we_o shall_v have_v always_o good_a cause_n to_o honour_v he_o &_o to_o rejoice_v ourselves_o in_o he_o but_o alack_o we_o devour_v up_o the_o benefit_n that_o he_o bestow_v upon_o we_o &_o in_o the_o mean_a while_o we_o mow_v at_o they_o &_o never_o think_v upon_o they_o and_o we_o may_v see_v that_o this_o be_v the_o cause_n that_o we_o be_v so_o give_v to_o murmur_n to_o fret_v &_o to_o discontent_n ourselves_o and_o why_o so_o for_o the_o benefit_n of_o god_n aught_o to_o suffice_v to_o satisfy_v we_o in_o he_o but_o as_o i_o have_v say_v we_o despise_v &_o set_v light_n by_o they_o and_o so_o we_o be_v not_o worthy_a to_o taste_v what_o this_o promise_n be_v worth_a i_o be_o with_o thou_o and_o will_v bless_v thou_o now_o it_o be_v say_v a_o little_a after_o that_o isaac_n erect_v a_o altar_n and_o that_o he_o call_v upon_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n in_o that_o place_n we_o have_v see_v already_o why_o altar_n be_v erect_v by_o the_o holy_a father_n &_o to_o what_o intent_n but_o yet_o we_o must_v here_o speak_v somewhat_o of_o it_o even_o as_o the_o place_n require_v the_o altar_n which_o isaac_n erect_v be_v to_o this_o end_n that_o he_o may_v make_v profession_n of_o his_o faith_n thus_o much_o concern_v the_o first_o point_n for_o if_o we_o pray_v unto_o god_n we_o have_v no_o need_n to_o erect_v a_o altar_n unto_o he_o the_o service_n of_o god_n be_v of_o itself_o spiritual_a isaac_n therefore_o erect_v not_o a_o altar_n that_o he_o may_v only_o invocate_v and_o call_v upon_o the_o name_n of_o god_n or_o make_v his_o prayer_n &_o supplication_n unto_o he_o but_o to_o the_o intent_n that_o his_o faith_n may_v be_v know_v &_o that_o god_n may_v be_v glorify_v before_o man_n for_o although_o we_o ought_v to_o serve_v god_n in_o spirit_n and_o inward_o in_o our_o heart_n yet_o notwithstanding_o this_o let_v not_o also_o but_o that_o we_o must_v give_v he_o that_o praise_n which_o he_o deserve_v before_o man_n and_o that_o we_o protest_v asmuch_o as_n lie_v in_o we_o that_o we_o be_v whole_o he_o both_o body_n and_o soul_n here_o therefore_o we_o be_v instruct_v that_o stir_v we_o up_o to_o march_v cheerful_o forward_o in_o the_o service_n of_o god_n how_o so_o it_o be_v true_a that_o when_o we_o pray_v unto_o god_n he_o embusi_v himself_o with_o no_o ceremony_n and_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o we_o bow_v our_o knee_n we_o hold_v up_o our_o hand_n towards_o heaven_n and_o uncover_v our_o head_n and_o why_o so_o first_o of_o all_o in_o respect_n of_o man_n for_o as_o i_o have_v already_o say_v it_o must_v needs_o be_v that_o we_o do_v homage_n unto_o god_n with_o our_o body_n which_o he_o have_v create_v and_o which_o he_o have_v appoint_v to_o his_o glory_n &_o to_o the_o crown_n of_o immortality_n but_o howsoever_o it_o be_v forasmuch_o as_o we_o be_v slack_a it_o behove_v we_o that_o these_o mean_n stand_v we_o in_o steed_n to_o provoke_v we_o too_o have_v a_o more_o fervent_a zeal_n to_o pray_v unto_o god_n and_o with_o a_o more_o hearty_a affection_n loe_o then_o why_o it_o be_v meet_v for_o we_o to_o have_v our_o join_a hand_n lift_v up_o too_o kneel_v upon_o our_o knee_n and_o have_v our_o head_n uncover_v for_o it_o be_v too_o show_v that_o we_o present_v ourselves_o before_o god_n as_o if_o we_o shall_v say_v and_o poor_a wretch_n who_o be_v thou_o with_o what_o lowliness_n ought_v thou_o too_o come_v before_o he_o who_o have_v create_v and_o fashion_v thou_o and_o to_o who_o thou_o haste_v to_o render_v a_o account_n of_o thy_o whole_a life_n and_o again_o this_o also_o be_v to_o this_o end_n that_o we_o shall_v bereave_v ourselves_o of_o all_o vain_a fantasy_n that_o make_v we_o to_o stray_v here_o and_o there_o and_o that_o we_o shall_v whole_o rest_n upon_o he_o so_o then_o the_o altar_n that_o isaac_n erect_v serve_v to_o this_o purpose_n to_o wit_n that_o by_o this_o mean_a he_o may_v be_v the_o more_o provoke_v and_o have_v his_o heart_n so_o much_o the_o more_o inflame_v to_o serve_v god_n and_o on_o the_o other_o side_n he_o make_v a_o confession_n before_o man_n to_o give_v example_n to_o his_o family_n and_o to_o testify_v that_o he_o mingle_v not_o himself_o with_o the_o superstition_n of_o the_o paynim_n but_o have_v a_o pure_a and_o undefiled_a religion_n in_o asmuch_o as_o he_o be_v rule_v by_o his_o word_n and_o thus_o much_o concern_v the_o altar_n and_o by_o the_o way_n we_o have_v also_o to_o learn_v here_o this_o thing_n which_o be_v declare_v before_o that_o the_o prayer_n of_o the_o holy_a father_n and_o the_o confession_n which_o they_o make_v of_o their_o faith_n be_v not_o join_v with_o the_o sacrifice_n for_o no_o other_o end_n but_o to_o lead_v they_o unto_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n for_o they_o be_v continual_o teach_v that_o they_o can_v have_v no_o access_n unto_o god_n but_o by_o the_o favour_n of_o a_o mediator_n who_o be_v not_o yet_o send_v into_o the_o world_n but_o yet_o so_o it_o be_v that_o they_o rest_v there_o but_o now_o that_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n be_v come_v down_o &_o that_o he_o have_v take_v our_o nature_n upon_o he_o &_o have_v say_v unto_o we_o that_o he_o be_v the_o light_n of_o the_o world_n that_o he_o be_v the_o way_n 10_o the_o truth_n and_o the_o life_n that_o he_o be_v our_o advocate_n to_o god_n his_o father_n &_o that_o through_o he_o we_o must_v have_v entrance_n into_o heaven_n see_v therefore_o we_o have_v all_o this_o must_v we_o not_o be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o assure_v when_o there_o be_v any_o question_n of_o call_v upon_o he_o that_o we_o know_v that_o our_o request_n shall_v be_v hear_v of_o he_o and_o the_o gate_n shall_v be_v open_a for_o we_o &_o that_o we_o shall_v always_o find_v he_o ready_a and_o favourable_a to_o help_v and_o succour_v we_o now_o howsoever_o it_o be_v let_v we_o mark_v that_o altar_n in_o old_a time_n and_o special_o in_o the_o time_n of_o the_o law_n be_v always_o erect_v to_o this_o end_n that_o the_o faithful_a may_v know_v that_o they_o be_v not_o worthy_a to_o pray_v unto_o god_n nor_o to_o call_v upon_o he_o in_o their_o own_o name_n but_o that_o always_o they_o must_v come_v to_o he_o by_o the_o mean_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n &_o by_o the_o virtue_n of_o that_o sacrifice_n which_o he_o must_v offer_v up_o to_o his_o father_n for_o the_o reconciliation_n of_o the_o world_n and_o indeed_o we_o must_v not_o think_v that_o abraham_n and_o isaac_n devise_v altar_n according_a to_o their_o own_o fantasy_n for_o their_o sacrifice_n be_v never_o acceptable_a but_o through_o faith_n as_o the_o apostle_n show_v now_o they_o can_v never_o have_v be_v ground_v in_o faith_n unless_o the_o word_n of_o god_n have_v go_v before_o to_o enlighten_v they_o let_v we_o know_v then_o that_o isaac_n offer_v not_o up_o a_o sacrifice_n at_o all_o adventure_n as_o if_o he_o have_v think_v o_o this_o shall_v be_v find_v good_a but_o he_o be_v teach_v that_o he_o be_v a_o wretched_a sinner_n he_o must_v not_o presume_v to_o call_v upon_o the_o name_n of_o god_n unless_o he_o put_v his_o whole_a trust_n in_o he_o who_o must_v be_v send_v to_o make_v satisfaction_n and_o to_o purge_v the_o sin_n of_o the_o world_n the_o paynim_n have_v in_o deed_n their_o altar_n and_o sacrifice_v as_o do_v the_o holy_a father_n but_o they_o want_v the_o principal_a they_o be_v whole_o occupy_v in_o the_o ceremony_n which_o of_o itself_o be_v frivolous_a because_o they_o look_v not_o up_o to_o that_o heavenly_a pattern_n whereof_o mention_n be_v make_v in_o leviticus_fw-la so_o then_o we_o have_v to_o learn_v that_o when_o our_o father_n isaac_n will_v call_v upon_o the_o name_n of_o god_n he_o have_v a_o altar_n to_o witness_v that_o he_o can_v not_o be_v receive_v but_o in_o the_o name_n &_o favour_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o therefore_o at_o this_o day_n as_o often_o as_o we_o will_v pray_v unto_o god_n
