by_o who_o the_o people_n be_v draw_v to_o such_o a_o singularity_n without_o doubt_n i_o think_v this_o be_v a_o vain_a motion_n and_o a_o idle_a conceit_n of_o hierome_n as_o be_v also_o that_o which_o he_o add_v of_o a_o decree_n make_v throughout_o the_o whole_a world_n good_a now_o let_v i_o ask_v he_o this_o question_n when_o or_o of_o who_o that_o decree_n can_v be_v make_v or_o at_o at_o corinth_n come_v to_o their_o knowledge_n at_o the_o length_n &_o that_o after_o some_o miraculous_a manner_n they_o all_o meet_v together_o from_o diverse_a foreign_a and_o the_o far_a part_n in_o the_o world_n i_o say_v to_o imagine_v all_o this_o yet_o can_v any_o man_n ever_o imagine_v that_o for_o the_o avoid_n of_o this_o one_o schism_n they_o all_o will_v conspire_v together_o for_o first_o institution_n but_o of_o the_o antiquity_n of_o this_o custom_n we_o will_v call_v hierome_n himself_o for_o a_o witness_n and_o we_o shall_v find_v he_o not_o only_o in_o this_o place_n but_o also_o in_o his_o epistle_n to_o euagrius_n at_o alexandria_n say_v he_o even_o to_o heraclas_n &_o dionysius_n bishop_n the_o elder_n choose_v one_o from_o among_o themselves_o and_o place_v he_o in_o a_o high_a degree_n and_o name_v he_o their_o bishop_n in_o like_a manner_n as_o if_o a_o army_n shall_v name_v they_o a_o emperor_n and_o yet_o by_o the_o way_n i_o will_v not_o the_o people_n also_o it_o may_v appear_v that_o the_o church_n be_v not_o acquaint_v at_o all_o with_o that_o general_a decree_n or_o that_o they_o have_v any_o such_o regard_n thereof_o in_o their_o election_n of_o bishop_n that_o they_o must_v always_o choose_v from_o among_o their_o elder_n their_o ordinary_a bishop_n yet_o be_v it_o so_o and_o let_v we_o yield_v thus_o much_o to_o hierome_n that_o
