exceed_v great_a in_o this_o state_n yea_o so_o great_a that_o in_o these_o respect_n the_o government_n of_o the_o judge_n may_v seem_v not_o only_o a_o mean_a but_o almost_o a_o private_a estate_n hence_o it_o be_v that_o this_o kingdom_n of_o israel_n be_v by_o jacob_n prophesy_v of_o it_o gen._n 49.9_o compare_v to_o a_o lion_n the_o which_o do_v in_o strength_n and_o especial_o in_o a_o majestical_a stateliness_n so_o far_o exceed_v all_o other_o beast_n that_o it_o be_v usual_o call_v the_o king_n of_o they_o if_o we_o desire_v to_o know_v how_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o there_o be_v so_o great_a power_n and_o majesty_n give_v to_o this_o kingdom_n we_o must_v have_v recourse_n to_o the_o original_n of_o it_o the_o cause_n of_o the_o set_n uppe_o of_o this_o estate_n but_o we_o consider_v he_o as_o he_o be_v after_o a_o special_a manner_n the_o king_n and_o ruler_n of_o this_o people_n israel_n so_o as_o he_o never_o be_v or_o will_v be_v to_o any_o other_o nation_n the_o action_n of_o god_n which_o do_v proceed_v from_o this_o his_o regal_a authority_n be_v these_o first_o that_o he_o give_v to_o this_o people_n judicial_a law_n and_o constitution_n which_o be_v part_n of_o the_o office_n not_o of_o god_n for_o then_o these_o judicial_a law_n shall_v belong_v to_o the_o whole_a world_n see_v god_n be_v the_o god_n not_o of_o the_o jew_n only_o but_o also_o of_o the_o gentiles_n but_o other_o nation_n be_v not_o tie_v to_o these_o law_n but_o only_o to_o the_o moral_a law_n and_o to_o these_o judicial_n so_o far_o as_o they_o be_v moral_a to_o wit_n to_o the_o ground_n and_o equity_n of_o they_o but_o not_o to_o the_o law_n themselves_o the_o second_o thing_n which_o god_n do_v by_o virtue_n of_o this_o authority_n be_v the_o supreme_a it_o to_o other_o to_o determine_v whether_o it_o be_v the_o most_o convenient_a kind_n of_o government_n in_o respect_n of_o the_o church_n of_o god_n and_o the_o safe_a constancy_n and_o good_a estate_n of_o it_o yet_o we_o do_v not_o doubt_v to_o affirm_v that_o it_o be_v a_o lawful_a kind_n of_o government_n among_o the_o jew_n and_o may_v lawful_o be_v practise_v amongst_o christian_n at_o this_o day_n for_o howsoever_o some_o kind_n of_o government_n and_o magistracy_n be_v convenient_a or_o inconvenient_a safe_a or_o dangerous_a yet_o this_o and_o all_o other_o kind_n be_v to_o first_o age_n of_o the_o gospel_n second_o for_o that_o although_o it_o be_v not_o impossible_a to_o god_n to_o convert_v the_o heart_n of_o all_o man_n to_o embrace_v the_o gospel_n yet_o it_o be_v not_o agreeable_a to_o his_o usual_a deal_n so_o to_o bless_v any_o nation_n as_o that_o all_o of_o they_o without_o exception_n shall_v believe_v and_o become_v faithful_a man_n three_o because_o of_o the_o great_a confusion_n and_o many_o foul_a corruption_n which_o be_v usual_o find_v in_o such_o church_n the_o which_o seldom_o or_o never_o can_v be_v bring_v to_o the_o right_a order_n of_o the_o church_n of_o christ._n last_o because_o they_o be_v not_o call_v to_o the_o profession_n of_o the_o faith_n by_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n but_o be_v in_o a_o manner_n grace_n the_o which_o be_v join_v together_o be_v more_o available_a for_o the_o edify_n of_o the_o church_n then_o if_o they_o be_v only_o several_o use_v in_o particular_a church_n for_o these_o cause_n be_v this_o common_a government_n of_o counsel_n institute_v in_o the_o church_n at_o the_o first_o and_o have_v continue_v in_o all_o the_o age_n of_o it_o the_o first_o example_n of_o a_o
