make_v we_o holy_a what_o be_v the_o cause_n that_o he_o suffer_v his_o dear_a saint_n to_o fall_v sometime_o again_o and_o again_o into_o the_o same_o sin_n which_o they_o hate_v be_v sorrowful_a for_o they_o and_o desire_v earnest_o to_o leave_v they_o minist_n to_o exercise_v their_o faith_n and_o repentance_n 42.6_o and_o humble_v they_o lest_o they_o shall_v grow_v proud_a to_o make_v they_o loathe_v this_o present_a life_n in_o regard_n of_o sin_n when_o they_o behold_v and_o feel_v themselves_o thus_o snare_v against_o their_o will_n 1.23_o to_o long_o for_o that_o life_n where_o they_o shall_v never_o sin_v any_o more_o but_o serve_v their_o god_n willing_o perfect_o and_o constant_o for_o ever_o and_o ever_o schol._n may_v any_o one_o then_o conclude_v that_o he_o be_v morrow_n remember_v therewithal_o lest_o satan_n who_o warch_v but_o a_o opportunity_n to_o drown_v the_o soul_n in_o perpetual_a sorrow_n suggest_v some_o lie_n or_o slander_v upon_o the_o truth_n their_o first_o feeling_n be_v in_o a_o great_a part_n rather_o sudden_a passion_n then_o ground_v comfort_n but_o after_o they_o come_v to_o have_v any_o true_a conflict_n with_o their_o soul_n the_o mud_n of_o the_o flesh_n be_v more_o purge_v away_o and_o all_o thing_n be_v more_o sound_a than_o at_o the_o first_o scholar_n yet_o you_o know_v it_o be_v write_v that_o the_o righteous_a in_o their_o old_a age_n shall_v be_v fat_a and_o flourish_a bring_v forth_o fruit_n 92.13.14_o what_o shall_v some_o say_v then_o or_o think_v of_o themselves_o when_o they_o find_v a_o decay_n in_o their_o memory_n etc._n etc._n deadness_n in_o their_o affection_n etc._n etc._n though_o they_o may_v not_o call_v their_o election_n in_o question_n may_v they_o not_o fear_v some_o strange_a judgement_n min._n 20._o no_o sure_o for_o perhaps_o than_o they_o may_v flourish_v most_o of_o all_o in_o humility_n holiness_n patience_n experience_n and_o such_o like_a grace_n when_o they_o want_v those_o stir_n and_o hot_a affection_n neither_o ought_v we_o to_o look_v for_o such_o strength_n of_o memory_n and_o lively_a operative_a action_n of_o grace_n in_o age_n in_o sickness_n in_o great_a sorrow_n and_o tentation_n as_o at_o other_o time_n in_o young_a year_n free_a from_o such_o assault_n nevertheless_o in_o such_o time_n god_n give_v grace_n most_o fit_a for_o those_o time_n as_o in_o age_n gravity_n ability_n to_o give_v good_a counsel_n to_o speak_v from_o experience_n etc._n etc._n so_o that_o though_o the_o age_a christian_n have_v not_o always_o most_o life_n and_o feeling_n and_o stir_a grace_n yet_o be_v they_o better_o season_v then_o young_a soldier_n as_o the_o prophet_n speak_v 1â—_n give_v thy_o strength_n unto_o day_n servant_n so_o have_v they_o a_o great_a deal_n more_o of_o god_n strength_n to_o walk_v with_o yea_o the_o great_a measure_n thereof_o at_o their_o most_o need_n which_o if_o we_o shall_v attain_v unto_o too_o soon_o it_o will_v lose_v do_v so_o damp_n with_o the_o sorrow_n thereof_o all_o other_o grace_n in_o the_o soul_n that_o for_o the_o present_a we_o can_v discern_v none_o and_o so_o imagine_v all_o to_o be_v lose_v by_o faith_n and_o not_o by_o sight_n and_o so_o their_o faith_n be_v weak_a by_o reason_n they_o be_v not_o well_o clothe_v with_o their_o spiritual_a armour_n have_v forget_v their_o consolation_n no_o marvel_n they_o stagger_v and_o reel_v to_o and_o fro_o 12.5_o have_v lose_v the_o touch_n of_o that_o hand_n which_o have_v wont_a to_o guide_v they_o so_o that_o i_o say_v it_o must_v be_v
