do_v at_o the_o sight_n of_o a_o knife_n or_o sword_n or_o some_o such_o like_a instrument_n whereby_o at_o unaware_o he_o have_v slay_v his_o child_n or_o wife_n or_o any_o that_o be_v near_o and_o dear_a unto_o he_o especial_o if_o we_o consider_v that_o god_n out_o of_o his_o mere_a love_n give_v his_o only_a son_n unto_o we_o when_o 14._o joh._n 3._o 14._o we_o deserve_v nothing_o at_o his_o hand_n but_o his_o heavy_a curse_n and_o vengeance_n to_o be_v execute_v upon_o we_o and_o that_o the_o son_n of_o god_n be_v content_a from_o the_o abundance_n of_o his_o love_n to_o be_v so_o abase_v and_o vilify_v so_o afflict_v and_o torment_v for_o our_o offence_n this_o must_v needs_o work_v upon_o our_o soul_n if_o we_o have_v but_o the_o least_o drop_n of_o goodness_n in_o us._n object_n but_o here_o some_o man_n may_v object_v and_o say_v indeed_o if_o all_o this_o have_v be_v do_v for_o i_o alone_o you_o say_v well_o if_o my_o heart_n be_v not_o altogether_o flinty_a and_o utter_o harden_v i_o can_v not_o but_o relent_v at_o the_o consideration_n hereof_o but_o all_o god_n elect_v be_v the_o cause_n hereof_o as_o well_o as_o i._o ans_fw-fr this_o do_v nothing_o diminish_v the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o of_o christ_n towards_o you_o and_o therefore_o it_o shall_v no_o whit_n lessen_v your_o good_a affection_n towards_o he_o for_o your_o saviour_n suffer_v as_o treason_n or_o have_v be_v at_o great_a charge_n to_o deliver_v he_o be_v cast_v in_o prison_n for_o debt_n will_v walk_v more_o circumspect_o and_o advise_o all_o the_o day_n of_o his_o life_n and_o will_v be_v so_o far_o from_o adventure_v upon_o those_o bad_a course_n again_o that_o he_o will_v be_v so_o much_o more_o careful_a to_o avoid_v they_o by_o how_o much_o more_o pain_n and_o cost_v his_o friend_n have_v be_v at_o for_o his_o redeem_n use_v 2_o second_o let_v this_o teach_v we_o to_o exercise_v our_o thought_n often_o and_o earnest_o in_o consider_v what_o evil_n we_o have_v as_o also_o in_o those_o that_o follow_v be_v declare_v the_o measure_n of_o their_o sorrow_n viz._n that_o it_o be_v exceed_o great_a as_o the_o two_o comparison_n here_o use_v do_v evident_o lord_n and_o the_o reason_n why_o we_o must_v thus_o lament_v be_v first_o because_o sin_n be_v the_o matter_n of_o all_o our_o woe_n and_o smart_v it_o be_v that_o which_o do_v we_o most_o hurt_v and_o that_o which_o keep_v from_o we_o all_o manner_n of_o good_a 2._o isa_n 59_o 2._o and_o have_v we_o not_o just_a cause_n then_o to_o grieve_v that_o we_o shall_v lodge_v such_o a_o guest_n in_o to_o hear_v that_o their_o good_n be_v in_o danger_n to_o be_v burn_v then_o that_o their_o soul_n be_v likely_a to_o burn_v in_o hell_n this_o be_v a_o plain_a argument_n that_o what_o show_v soever_o they_o make_v yet_o they_o have_v not_o true_o repent_v for_o their_o evil_a work_n for_o if_o the_o holy_a ghost_n have_v give_v they_o a_o inward_a touch_n for_o their_o sin_n they_o will_v grieve_v most_o for_o that_o which_o hurt_v they_o most_o and_o not_o for_o those_o thing_n the_o have_v whereof_o can_v much_o benefit_n they_o nor_o the_o loss_n thereof_o prove_v very_o among_o we_o shall_v dwell_v with_o devour_a fire_n who_o among_o we_o shall_v dwell_v with_o everlasting_a burn_n for_o so_o they_o conceive_v of_o god_n that_o he_o be_v a_o consume_a fire_n as_o indeed_o he_o be_v unto_o such_o as_o they_o be_v and_o that_o he_o will_v not_o only_o torment_v they_o present_o but_o everlasting_o we_o may_v read_v of_o saul_n in_o what_o woeful_a perplexity_n
