immortality_n of_o the_o soul_n answ._n if_o this_o be_v so_o you_o see_v that_o man_n have_v rise_v from_o the_o dead_a as_o when_o christ_n do_v arise_v than_o many_o arise_v from_o the_o dead_a this_o second_o proof_n differ_v from_o the_o former_a answ._n 1_o i_o answer_v after_o this_o manner_n there_o be_v a_o double_a assent_n one_o be_v a_o doubtful_a assent_n which_o we_o call_v opinion_n that_o be_v when_o we_o assent_v to_o the_o one_o part_n so_o as_o we_o fear_v the_o contrary_a to_o be_v true_a the_o other_o be_v a_o firm_a assent_n and_o this_o be_v twofold_a either_o it_o be_v ground_v upon_o reason_n which_o we_o call_v knowledge_n or_o else_o be_v ground_v upon_o the_o authority_n of_o he_o that_o reveal_v it_o and_o this_o we_o call_v faith_n and_o the_o difference_n of_o they_o stand_v in_o this_o the_o object_n of_o the_o first_o which_o we_o call_v knowledge_n be_v natural_a thing_n such_o as_o god_n do_v not_o reveal_v himself_o but_o they_o lie_v before_o we_o and_o reason_n can_v find_v they_o out_o but_o faith_n believe_v thing_n that_o be_v reveal_v by_o god_n yet_o so_o as_o that_o there_o be_v no_o reason_n for_o they_o as_o well_o as_o for_o the_o other_o for_o if_o one_o come_v and_o tell_v you_o any_o thing_n and_o if_o you_o believe_v it_o you_o can_v give_v a_o reason_n of_o it_o and_o why_o you_o believe_v it_o aswell_o as_o of_o any_o other_o natural_a conclusion_n as_o that_o he_o be_v a_o wise_a man_n and_o one_o that_o i_o know_v will_v tell_v the_o truth_n
the_o lord_n the_o efficacy_n that_o they_o have_v to_o do_v we_o hurt_v or_o good_a god_n be_v from_o he_o and_o not_o from_o themselves_o if_o god_n will_v say_v to_o the_o creature_n go_v and_o do_v such_o a_o man_n good_a it_o will_v do_v it_o because_o there_o go_v a_o concourse_n of_o efficacy_n from_o he_o to_o do_v it_o so_o if_o he_o say_v to_o a_o creature_n go_v to_o such_o a_o man_n and_o afflict_v he_o it_o will_v do_v it_o though_o it_o be_v never_o so_o small_a and_o mean_a a_o creature_n therefore_o of_o themselves_o they_o neither_o do_v good_a nor_o hurt_n the_o efficacy_n that_o they_o have_v be_v from_o he_o and_o not_o from_o themselves_o they_o be_v mere_a instrument_n and_o if_o god_n withdraw_v his_o blessing_n and_o curse_v they_o can_v do_v we_o neither_o good_a nor_o hurt_n answ._n 2_o we_o say_v that_o they_o be_v nothing_o because_o they_o be_v at_o his_o command_n command_n if_o he_o will_v do_v we_o good_a he_o never_o want_v one_o to_o send_v of_o his_o whole_a and_o not_o a_o part_n as_o the_o sun_n because_o it_o have_v the_o light_n original_o therefore_o it_o have_v not_o a_o part_n but_o the_o whole_a though_o afterward_o it_o give_v light_a to_o many_o so_o a_o fountain_n that_o have_v water_n original_o have_v not_o the_o part_n but_o the_o whole_a though_o afterward_o it_o run_v into_o many_o brook_n and_o if_o there_o be_v but_o one_o take_v up_o about_o these_o two_o it_o will_v set_v our_o hope_n and_o fear_n aright_o and_o worldly_a thing_n as_o credit_v and_o profit_n etc._n etc._n will_v seem_v nothing_o to_o we_o and_o
