mighty_a tempest_n in_o the_o sea_n so_o that_o the_o ship_n be_v like_a to_o be_v break_v 5_o then_o the_o mariner_n be_v afraid_a and_o cry_v every_o man_n unto_o his_o god_n and_o cast_v the_o ware_n that_o be_v in_o the_o ship_n into_o the_o sea_n to_o lighten_v it_o of_o they_o but_o jonah_n be_v go_v down_o into_o the_o side_n of_o the_o ship_n and_o lay_v down_o and_o be_v a_o sleep_n 6_o so_o the_o ship-maistr_a come_v to_o he_o and_o say_v unto_o he_o what_o mean_v thou_o o_o sleeper_n arise_v and_o call_v upon_o thy_o god_n if_o so_o be_v that_o god_n will_v think_v upon_o we_o that_o we_o perish_v not_o the_o sin_n be_v past_a but_o punishment_n be_v to_o come_v for_o after_o disobedience_n follow_v wrath_n the_o heavy_a companion_n of_o wickedness_n for_o although_o she_o love_v not_o sin_n yet_o she_o will_v be_v always_o where_o wicked_a nesse_n be_v yea_o also_o full_a of_o strength_n like_o a_o lion_n which_o will_v not_o be_v tame_v he_o that_o make_v the_o wind_n command_v they_o and_o they_o obey_v his_o voice_n the_o wind_n and_o the_o water_n obey_v he_o but_o man_n will_v not_o obey_v he_o he_o say_v not_o that_o a_o wind_n arise_v but_o say_v the_o lord_n send_v great_a wind_n therefore_o we_o see_v the_o cause_n of_o this_o tempest_n and_o so_o of_o jonahs_n punishment_n the_o just_a judge_n of_o the_o whole_a world_n may_v not_o suffer_v sin_n unpunished_a therefore_o he_o send_v the_o lord_n send_v out_o a_o mighty_a wind_n then_o it_o be_v not_o by_o chance_n nor_o yet_o by_o witchcraft_n for_o the_o mariner_n notwithstanding_o they_o be_v infidel_n be_v not_o so_o gross_a as_o to_o ascribe_v it_o to_o any_o such_o cause_n but_o rather_o think_v it_o to_o be_v send_v from_o some_o revenge_a power_n be_v provoke_v to_o indignation_n by_o some_o particular_a person_n among_o 31_o psal_n 107._o 25_o to_o 31_o they_o that_o have_v commit_v some_o heinous_a fact_n else_o why_o do_v they_o cast_v lot_n to_o know_v he_o and_o find_v he_o out_o that_o have_v sin_v and_o who_o sin_n do_v procure_v this_o tempest_n to_o be_v send_v though_o this_o wind_n have_v almost_o drown_v jonah_n yet_o he_o say_v the_o lord_n send_v it_o so_o the_o lord_n send_v wind_n to_o bring_v ship_n to_o land_n in_o safety_n and_o the_o same_o lord_n send_v wind_n to_o drown_v and_o break_v and_o sink_v other_o ship_n therefore_o job_n say_v when_o he_o be_v bereave_v of_o all_o his_o substance_n at_o 21._o job._n 1._o 21._o once_o and_o leave_v as_o poor_a as_o may_v be_v that_o the_o lord_n have_v take_v they_o from_o he_o who_o have_v first_o give_v all_o to_o he_o add_v also_o thanksgiving_n even_o for_o the_o persecute_v hand_n of_o god_n which_o do_v so_o molest_v he_o if_o some_o have_v so_o much_o loss_n by_o tempest_n as_o job_n and_o such_o danger_n as_o jonah_n they_o will_v sure_o say_v with_o job_n bless_a be_v the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n for_o it_o but_o 9_o job._n 2._o 9_o more_o it_o be_v to_o be_v fear_v will_v say_v with_o job_n wife_n curl_n god_n and_o die_v and_o there_o be_v a_o great_a tempest_n in_o the_o sea_n first_o god_n speak_v gentle_o to_o he_o arise_v jonah_n go_v to_o niniveh_n than_o he_o will_v not_o go_v but_o see_v word_n will_v not_o serve_v the_o lord_n will_v take_v another_o way_n and_o try_v whether_o that_o can_v make_v he_o obedient_a to_o his_o voice_n so_o the_o lord_n cause_v a_o mighty_a tempest_n to_o arise_v in_o the_o sea_n like_o the_o messenger_n that_o be_v send_v to_o compel_v folk_n to_o come_v to_o the_o banquet_n that_o see_v the_o commandment_n can_v not_o the_o tempest_n may_v bear_v rule_n for_o unless_o it_o be_v a_o imperious_a cross_n we_o will_v not_o yield_v so_o headstrong_a be_v sin_n therefore_o it_o be_v say_v that_o god_n send_v out_o so_o at_o these_o spainards_n destruction_n their_o fellow_n at_o home_n wonder_v yea_o be_v astonish_v how_o their_o invincible_a power_n can_v be_v destroy_v but_o god_n be_v strong_a enough_o for_o they_o that_o kick_v against_o he_o and_o disdain_v to_o be_v cross_v of_o dust_n and_o ash_n and_o there_o be_v a_o great_a tempest_n in_o the_o sea_n the_o ship_n go_v on_o round_o for_o a_o time_n the_o prophet_n sleep_v the_o mariners_z sport_v their_o sail_n flaunt_v the_o water_n calm_v the_o wind_n guide_v so_o merry_o sin_n go_v on_o before_o the_o tempest_n come_v the_o wind_n blow_v not_o yet_o therefore_o go_v on_o yet_o a_o little_a and_o yet_o a_o little_a more_o but_o sudden_o the_o tempest_n rush_n upon_o they_o before_o they_o be_v aware_a of_o it_o and_o tumble_v they_o up_o and_o down_o and_o sudden_o all_o be_v like_a to_o be_v undo_v he_o come_v to_o the_o haven_n and_o pay_v the_o fare_n and_o enter_v the_o ship_n and_o hoist_v up_o sail_n and_o go_v on_o forward_o and_o all_o to_o fly_v from_o god_n but_o now_o it_o appear_v he_o flee_v not_o from_o he_o but_o to_o he_o therefore_o david_n say_v if_o i_o take_v the_o morning_n wing_n and_o fly_v aloft_o lo_o thou_o be_v there_o if_o i_o go_v into_o the_o neithermost_a depth_n thy_o hand_n will_v find_v i_o out_o therefore_o whither_o shall_v i_o fly_v from_o thou_o so_o that_o when_o we_o think_v that_o we_o fly_v from_o god_n in_o run_v out_o of_o one_o place_n into_o another_o we_o do_v but_o run_v from_o one_o hand_n to_o the_o other_o for_o there_o be_v no_o place_n where_o god_n hand_n be_v not_o and_o whither_o soever_o a_o rebellious_a sinner_n do_v run_v the_o hand_n of_o god_n will_v meet_v with_o he_o to_o cross_v he_o and_o hinder_v his_o hope_a foâ—_n success_n although_o he_o secure_o prophesi_v never_o so_o much_o good_a unto_o himself_o in_o his_o journey_n what_o have_v he_o offend_v the_o wind_n or_o the_o water_n that_o they_o bear_v he_o such_o enmity_n the_o wind_n and_o the_o water_n and_o all_o god_n creature_n be_v to_o take_v god_n part_n against_o jonah_n or_o any_o rebellious_a sinner_n for_o though_o god_n in_o the_o beginning_n give_v power_n to_o man_n over_o all_o his_o creature_n to_o rule_v they_o yet_o when_o man_n sin_n god_n give_v power_n &_o strength_n to_o his_o creature_n to_o rule_v and_o bridle_v man_n therefore_o he_o that_o even_o now_o be_v lord_n over_o the_o water_n now_o the_o water_n be_v lord_n over_o he_o but_o if_o jonah_n have_v think_v that_o god_n will_v have_v bring_v thing_n to_o pass_v he_o dare_v not_o have_v be_v so_o bold_a in_o this_o enterprise_n therefore_o we_o may_v see_v that_o sin_n have_v no_o eye_n while_o it_o be_v on_o do_v tush_o say_v the_o soole_n it_o be_v fair_a weather_n yet_o while_o he_o go_v to_o the_o stock_n so_o that_o the_o ship_n be_v like_a to_o be_v break_v we_o have_v hear_v of_o the_o cause_n and_o greatness_n of_o this_o tempest_n the_o effect_n follow_v whereby_o the_o greatness_n of_o it_o be_v the_o better_o express_v first_o in_o the_o ship_n then_o in_o the_o mariner_n the_o ship_n be_v like_a to_o be_v break_v the_o ship_n be_v fair_a and_o goodly_a so_o strong_a that_o it_o may_v have_v encounter_v with_o instrument_n of_o war_n and_o so_o sure_o make_v that_o it_o may_v have_v endure_v great_a tempest_n and_o make_v many_o voyage_n yet_o now_o with_o one_o tempest_n and_o at_o one_o voyage_n it_o be_v so_o deform_v so_o weaken_v in_o such_o a_o take_n that_o it_o be_v like_a to_o be_v shiver_v in_o piece_n and_o all_o because_o jonah_n be_v in_o it_o such_o
and_o so_o sleep_a sin_n and_o sleep_v in_o sin_n therefore_o let_v they_o now_o give_v ear_n that_o be_v asleep_a for_o we_o be_v come_v to_o jonahs_n sleep_n not_o that_o we_o shall_v sleep_v with_o he_o but_o by_o his_o sleep_a to_o be_v warn_v of_o our_o security_n and_o we_o shall_v see_v he_o wake_v that_o we_o may_v learn_v to_o wake_v with_o he_o jonahs_n fast_o sleep_v be_v note_v to_o declare_v the_o occasion_n of_o the_o shipmaister_n speech_n to_o jonah_n but_o chief_o to_o note_v the_o dead_a security_n of_o jonah_n in_o his_o sin_n for_o as_o much_o as_o though_o the_o mariner_n cry_v for_o fear_n and_o cast_v out_o their_o good_n nay_o the_o very_a senseless_a ship_n seem_v to_o feel_v the_o anger_n of_o god_n and_o to_o cry_v to_o jonah_n by_o roll_a and_o crack_v yet_o jonah_n be_v not_o once_o move_v thereat_o but_o lay_v still_o fast_o a_o sleep_n so_o by_o jonah_n his_o sleep_v we_o see_v the_o nature_n of_o all_o the_o son_n of_o adam_n when_o they_o listen_v to_o the_o serpent_n they_o be_v like_o changeling_n they_o be_v cast_v into_o a_o dead_a sleep_n for_o when_o they_o forget_v god_n and_o his_o word_n and_o bid_v conscience_n adiewe_v they_o sleep_v in_o sin_n and_o that_o to_o death_n like_o one_o sick_a of_o the_o lethargy_n jonah_n signify_v a_o dove_n jonah_n therefore_o be_v now_o indeed_o jonah_n i_o mean_v like_o the_o dove_n which_o noah_n send_v forth_o of_o the_o ark_n for_o as_o the_o dove_n be_v go_v out_o of_o the_o arkecould_n find_v no_o rest_n for_o the_o sole_a of_o her_o foot_n till_o she_o return_v into_o the_o ark_n again_o so_o when_o jonah_n rise_v up_o from_o the_o presence_n of_o the_o lord_n he_o can_v find_v no_o rest_n for_o his_o mind_n neither_o by_o sea_n nor_o land_n until_o he_o return_v again_o unto_o the_o lord_n for_o the_o cause_n of_o jonahs_n go_v down_o to_o sleep_n be_v it_o seem_v to_o ease_v his_o mind_n for_o it_o be_v disquiet_v he_o feel_v it_o grievous_o trouble_v the_o conscience_n of_o his_o sin_n torment_v it_o therefore_o now_o o_o that_o jonah_n can_v sleep_v till_o the_o tempest_n be_v pass_v but_o it_o will_v not_o be_v for_o the_o tempest_n be_v send_v purposely_o to_o wake_v he_o and_o he_o be_v fast_o a_o sleep_n see_v how_o little_a jonah_n be_v ashamed_a of_o his_o sin_n all_o the_o world_n smart_v for_o it_o and_o yet_o he_o sleep_v as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v neither_o the_o wind_n blow_v nor_o the_o water_n roar_v stir_v jonah_n sleep_v while_o all_o else_o stir_v nor_o the_o ship_n reel_v nor_o the_o ware_n cast_v nor_o the_o mariner_n cry_v with_o all_o the_o stir_n can_v move_v he_o waken_v he_o from_o his_o sleep_n or_o rail_v he_o from_o his_o sin_n now_o jonah_n may_v say_v i_o be_v a_o sleep_n and_o all_o may_v have_v perish_v for_o i_o if_o one_o god_n have_v not_o help_v more_o than_o all_o the_o rest_n for_o jonah_n sleep_v but_o god_n wake_v and_o call_v to_o the_o wind_n and_o the_o water_n say_v toss_v cause_v the_o tempest_n to_o blow_v down_o house_n beside_o we_o the_o heaven_n to_o thunder_n over_o we_o the_o earth_n quake_v under_o we_o the_o water_n to_o overflow_v the_o land_n about_o we_o the_o fire_n to_o consume_v all_o that_o we_o have_v before_o we_o the_o air_n with_o cold_a ready_a to_o kill_v we_o and_o all_o thing_n in_o a_o uproar_n round_o about_o against_o we_o thereby_o always_o cross_v we_o one_o way_n or_o another_o and_o all_o to_o put_v we_o in_o mind_n of_o our_o duty_n the_o neglect_n whereof_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o all_o these_o trouble_n which_o the_o lord_n do_v send_v we_o but_o we_o sleep_v more_o deadly_a than_o jonah_n in_o our_o negligence_n void_a of_o feeling_n because_o we_o consider_v not_o what_o we_o have_v do_v we_o look_v not_o back_o on_o our_o sin_n yet_o every_o cross_n shall_v cause_v we_o to_o examine_v ourselves_o thorough_o and_o leave_v no_o sin_n unview_v that_o we_o may_v lively_o feel_v our_o wickedness_n and_o so_o due_o repent_v it_o and_o soon_o find_v release_n of_o our_o misery_n therefore_o if_o we_o sleep_v still_o and_o will_v not_o be_v waken_v god_n will_v deal_v more_o rough_o with_o we_o than_o he_o do_v with_o jonah_n for_o the_o lord_n cause_v a_o whale_n to_o swallow_v he_o and_o afterward_o to_o cast_v he_o up_o again_o but_o we_o shall_v be_v swallow_v of_o that_o serpent_n which_o never_o
