they_o after_o the_o commit_n of_o they_o come_v into_o the_o temple_n to_o pray_v this_o be_v rank_n hypocrisy_n though_o in_o some_o more_o gross_a because_o they_o have_v more_o knowledge_n than_o other_o when_o they_o leap_v thus_o out_o of_o a_o wicked_a and_o unreformed_a life_n to_o boast_v of_o assurance_n of_o salvation_n and_o all_o because_o they_o have_v somewhat_o to_o glory_n of_o as_o that_o they_o pray_v or_o give_v to_o the_o poor_a or_o do_v no_o man_n wrong_v as_o they_o say_v when_o they_o who_o be_v the_o child_n of_o god_n indeed_o do_v take_v so_o small_a comfort_n in_o this_o that_o they_o do_v some_o duty_n right_o that_o they_o can_v find_v no_o peace_n nor_o walk_v cheerful_o while_o they_o suffer_v any_o one_o sin_n to_o have_v dominion_n over_o they_o or_o to_o remain_v quiet_a or_o unpursue_v in_o they_o and_o be_v it_o any_o marvel_v see_v they_o have_v learn_v that_o god_n will_v be_v revenge_v on_o the_o breach_n of_o every_o commandment_n 119._o they_o believe_v this_o and_o fear_v to_o do_v against_o it_o that_o so_o they_o may_v declare_v by_o their_o practice_n that_o they_o desire_v to_o beseem_v the_o gospel_n in_o all_o thing_n 27._o and_o gross_a adultery_n and_o murder_n till_o nathan_n the_o prophet_n from_o god_n have_v challenge_v he_o for_o it_o yet_o after_o that_o cry_v out_o of_o his_o imborne_a corruption_n and_o that_o be_v by_o the_o lord_n himself_o it_o be_v he_o that_o wring_v this_o confession_n from_o saul_n and_o to_o make_v he_o see_v his_o sin_n whereby_o this_o he_o bring_v to_o pass_v that_o he_o make_v saul_n eat_v his_o own_o word_n by_o confess_v his_o fault_n yea_o even_o that_o which_o he_o have_v so_o stiff_o defend_v to_o be_v no_o fault_n at_o all_o as_o we_o have_v hear_v but_o be_v it_o credible_a will_v some_o say_v that_o when_o he_o have_v bold_o and_o open_o and_o oft_o time_n deny_v that_o he_o have_v displease_v god_n in_o that_o with_o which_o he_o be_v charge_v that_o he_o can_v be_v bring_v to_o confess_v the_o contrary_a may_v it_o be_v think_v that_o he_o can_v bear_v such_o shame_n and_o reproach_n be_v so_o great_a a_o person_n when_o a_o mean_a and_o inferior_a body_n will_v hardly_o have_v go_v under_o it_o what_o shall_v we_o then_o say_v if_o he_o come_v to_o confess_v it_o as_o it_o be_v clear_a he_o do_v but_o this_o who_o may_v a_o man_n believe_v when_o he_o speak_v good_a word_n as_o saul_n do_v here_o who_o if_o thousand_o have_v hear_v he_o they_o will_v have_v think_v he_o have_v answer_v a_o most_o sound_a truth_n unto_o the_o prophet_n indeed_o i_o must_v needs_o say_v etc._n that_o this_o and_o such_o like_a example_n do_v teach_v that_o there_o be_v much_o falsehood_n and_o deceit_n in_o man_n heart_n and_o that_o further_a than_o we_o have_v proof_n and_o experience_n of_o man_n truth_n and_o sincerity_n in_o good_a conscience_n keep_v we_o ought_v not_o to_o be_v too_o credulous_a nor_o too_o ready_a to_o believe_v they_o in_o their_o own_o case_n when_o they_o pretend_v to_o tell_v a_o truth_n and_o go_v about_o to_o clear_v themselves_o from_o accusation_n and_o most_o of_o all_o if_o it_o be_v in_o a_o matter_n concern_v their_o profit_n or_o pleasure_n aswell_o as_o their_o credit_n for_o man_n will_v lie_v most_o gross_o to_o enrich_v themselves_o and_o to_o seek_v their_o pleasure_n and_o estimation_n and_o therefore_o when_o these_o be_v in_o jeopardy_n and_o can_v be_v uphold_v but_o by_o a_o lie_n he_o be_v a_o rare_a man_n which_o in_o such_o a_o case_n will_v not_o strain_v his_o conscience_n yea_o and_o go_v direct_o against_o it_o both_o secret_o in_o do_v and_o open_o in_o defend_v evil_a such_o a_o sway_n sin_n bear_v in_o a_o man_n and_o so_o dear_a it_o be_v to_o he_o that_o nothing_o can_v separate_v they_o two_o but_o death_n they_o be_v swear_v friend_n and_o even_o as_o two_o twin_n which_o go_v together_o and_o grow_v together_o so_o that_o hurt_v one_o and_o that_o deal_v with_o he_o to_o confess_v be_v samuel_n the_o lord_n faithful_a prophet_n no_o neither_o do_v the_o most_o weighty_a convince_a he_o by_o the_o same_o prophet_n prevail_v with_o he_o the_o lord_n therefore_o that_o draw_v he_o to_o confess_v and_o it_o may_v teach_v we_o that_o god_n who_o do_v wonderful_a thing_n he_o also_o force_v liar_n dissembler_n and_o such_o as_o none_o can_v wring_v from_o they_o the_o least_o acknowledgement_n of_o sin_n which_o yet_o be_v well_o know_v that_o they_o be_v guilty_a of_o it_o and_o do_v with_o tooth_n and_o nail_n as_o they_o say_v deny_v it_o yet_o after_o all_o this_o the_o lord_n will_v make_v even_o themselves_o to_o bring_v it_o to_o light_n &_o confess_v it_o and_o this_o he_o do_v for_o these_o end_n 1._o first_o that_o the_o lord_n shall_v by_o some_o mean_n bewray_v it_o no_o other_o being_n more_o available_a hereto_o than_o the_o party_n own_o confession_n which_o be_v more_o than_o many_o witness_n second_o 2._o here_o be_v too_o many_o of_o they_o who_o do_v not_o so_o lay_v their_o sin_n to_o heart_n as_o that_o they_o turn_v from_o they_o indeed_o come_v to_o the_o oath_n and_o the_o covenant_n as_o the_o much_o under_o the_o cross_n but_o by_o constraint_n and_o violence_n not_o willing_o and_o humble_o to_o justify_v god_n in_o his_o punish_n of_o they_o nor_o for_o that_o they_o be_v persuade_v he_o love_v they_o and_o therefore_o they_o can_v show_v none_o to_o he_o again_o and_o therefore_o if_o man_n can_v do_v no_o more_o but_o so_o idest_fw-la confess_v in_o theit_n affliction_n some_o
