nature_n of_o love_n the_o general_a description_n whereof_o let_v be_v this_o love_n be_v a_o affection_n or_o passion_n of_o the_o mind_n conversant_a about_o divine_a beauty_n and_o perfection_n introducible_a into_o the_o soul_n or_o person_n of_o the_o son_n of_o man_n and_o i_o say_v conversant_a about_o divine_a perfection_n and_o beauty_n communicable_a to_o the_o son_n of_o man_n to_o distinguish_v it_o from_o what_o love_n soever_o else_o for_o that_o love_n that_o arise_v from_o interest_n be_v but_o such_o as_o a_o man_n will_v bear_v to_o his_o saddle-horse_n that_o carry_v he_o safe_o and_o easy_o and_o that_o pity_v we_o bear_v to_o calamitous_a man_n in_o sickness_n death_n or_o great_a distress_n without_o reference_n to_o what_o we_o have_v mention_v in_o our_o definition_n be_v but_o the_o same_o we_o may_v be_v haply_o move_v with_o towards_o a_o die_a beast_n or_o a_o bemoan_v and_o whine_a dog_n that_o love_n therefore_o that_o like_o the_o vestal_a fire_n be_v never_o to_o go_v out_o but_o always_o to_o burn_v and_o shine_v in_o our_o heart_n be_v the_o motion_n of_o our_o mind_n one_o way_n or_o other_o take_v up_o about_o the_o divine_a beauty_n communicable_a to_o man_n and_o thus_o i_o have_v at_o large_a as_o if_o i_o shall_v define_v colour_n in_o general_n describe_v the_o nature_n of_o love_n but_o as_o colour_n be_v not_o at_o all_o but_o in_o its_o several_a kind_n and_o distinction_n viz._n either_o white_a or_o red_a or_o yellow_a or_o green_n etc._n etc._n or_o some_o other_o particular_a kind_n so_o this_o love_n be_v not_o any_o passion_n at_o all_o indeed_o nothing_o at_o all_o but_o in_o its_o several_a kind_n such_o as_o be_v hope_n fear_v joy_n anger_n sorrow_n etc._n etc._n for_o the_o very_a root_n or_o matter_n of_o all_o these_o be_v love_n yea_o of_o hatred_n itself_o if_o we_o look_v to_o the_o bottom_n of_o this_o mystery_n as_o the_o wax_n take_v all_o shape_n and_o yet_o be_v wax_n still_o at_o the_o bottom_n the_o 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d still_o be_v wax_n so_o the_o soul_n transport_v in_o so_o many_o several_a passion_n of_o joy_n fear_v hope_v sorrow_n anger_n and_o the_o nothing_o how_o can_v he_o fear_v any_o thing_n or_o hope_v or_o joy_n or_o hate_v any_o thing_n for_o how_o can_v he_o hate_v when_o there_o be_v nothing_o to_o injure_v or_o cross_v he_o in_o what_o he_o love_v he_o love_v nothing_o or_o yet_o to_o make_v a_o more_o fit_a representation_n love_n be_v that_o to_o the_o soul_n that_o the_o light_n be_v to_o the_o sun_n for_o light_n be_v simple_a in_o itself_o and_o uniform_a be_v yet_o the_o basis_n or_o ground_n of_o much_o variety_n in_o the_o 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d of_o nature_n light_o be_v in_o itself_o one_o according_a as_o it_o
