people_n of_o god_n if_o not_o great_a need_n for_o by_o nature_n we_o be_v as_o ungratfull_a unthankful_a and_o unmindful_a of_o god_n blessing_n and_o mercy_n receive_v as_o ever_o they_o be_v &_o we_o stand_v in_o as_o much_o need_n as_o ever_o they_o do_v to_o be_v stir_v up_o by_o all_o help_n &_o mean_n to_o give_v unto_o god_n the_o glory_n due_a unto_o his_o name_n for_o his_o work_n of_o wonder_n which_o he_o have_v wrought_v nay_o we_o stand_v in_o more_o need_n now_o then_o they_o do_v then_o by_o how_o much_o we_o live_v in_o time_n long_o and_o further_o off_o from_o the_o live_v never_o unto_o it_o and_o hard_o by_o it_o as_o it_o be_v in_o comparison_n of_o we_o who_o live_v thousand_o of_o year_n after_o they_o and_o who_o know_v not_o how_o soon_o thing_n do_v long_o ago_o slip_v out_o of_o memory_n or_o if_o they_o slip_n not_o quite_o out_o of_o memory_n yet_o they_o lay_v there_o like_o the_o ingraving_n write_v upon_o grave_a stone_n which_o by_o continual_a trample_n upon_o be_v well_o nigh_o wear_v out_o it_o be_v needful_a therefore_o that_o we_o shall_v have_v all_o mean_n &_o help_n that_o may_v as_o it_o be_v daily_o new_a write_v &_o engrave_v upon_o out_o memory_n the_o honourable_a memory_n of_o the_o miracle_n of_o creation_n it_o may_v be_v some_o will_v answer_v thus_o that_o the_o mean_n once_o ordain_v of_o god_n ought_v still_o to_o be_v in_o use_n if_o none_o other_o as_o fit_v may_v be_v find_v out_o but_o other_o as_o fit_v for_o that_o use_n may_v be_v find_v out_o as_o the_o lord_n day_n for_o herein_o we_o may_v keep_v a_o memory_n of_o the_o creation_n against_o this_o i_o have_v these_o reason_n 1._o the_o lord_n day_n or_o sunday_n be_v as_o unfit_a to_o keep_v memory_n of_o the_o creation_n as_o the_o sabbath_n day_n or_o saturday_n be_v in_o their_o account_n unfit_a to_o keep_v memory_n of_o the_o redemption_n 2._o the_o day_n which_o be_v set_v a_o part_n to_o celebrate_v the_o memory_n of_o the_o creation_n it_o must_v have_v a_o aptenesse_n in_o it_o by_o way_n of_o similitude_n to_o represent_v it_o unto_o we_o like_v as_o the_o sacrament_n have_v aptenesse_n in_o they_o to_o represent_v unto_o we_o the_o redemtion_n now_o god_n finish_v his_o work_n of_o creation_n and_o rest_v on_o the_o seven_o day_n or_o saturday_n and_o of_o all_o day_n in_o the_o week_n we_o have_v none_o that_o have_v such_o similitude_n and_o likeness_n to_o god_n seven_o day_n as_o be_v our_o saturday_n which_o be_v the_o same_o seven_o day_n in_o order_n with_o god_n &_o therefore_o it_o be_v the_o only_a fit_a day_n for_o this_o purpose_n now_o the_o lord_n day_n be_v so_o far_o from_o any_o similitude_n with_o god_n rest_v day_n which_o be_v on_o the_o seven_o &_o last_o day_n of_o the_o week_n genes_n 2_o 3._o as_o it_o be_v the_o first_o day_n &_o begin_n of_o the_o week_n 3._o suppose_v that_o man_n can_v invent_v some_o other_o day_n as_o fit_a as_o the_o seven_o day_n appoint_v by_o god_n will_v they_o reject_v god_n choice_n for_o one_o of_o their_o own_o can_v they_o show_v we_o some_o other_o day_n as_o fit_v in_o god_n account_n they_o shall_v speak_v to_o some_o purpose_n but_o to_o reject_v that_o mean_n appoint_v of_o god_n because_o they_o can_v find_v a_o other_o which_o please_v they_o as_o well_o be_v audaciouse_a presumption_n why_o by_o like_a reason_n may_v they_o not_o as_o well_o change_v the_o element_n in_o the_o sacrament_n for_o other_o as_o well_o may_v they_o reject_v christ_n choice_n as_o god_n choice_n but_o happy_o some_o may_v object_v that_o some_o help_n for_o the_o keep_n in_o memory_n of_o the_o creation_n be_v abolish_v as_o for_o example_n the_o sabbath_n day_n for_o all_o sabbath_n be_v abolish_v in_o col._n 2.16.17_o hereunto_o i_o answer_v that_o the_o folly_n of_o this_o objection_n have_v former_o be_v answer_v here_o therefore_o a_o word_n or_o two_o shall_v be_v fufficient_a 1._o it_o be_v to_o be_v because_o we_o may_v together_o with_o antinomians_n libertine_n &_o anabaptist_n as_o well_o abolish_v all_o the_o moral_a law_n by_o the_o scripture_n as_o with_o they_o abolish_v the_o saturday_n sabbath_n and_o thus_o i_o argue_v if_o we_o may_v together_o with_o libertine_n antinomian_o &_o anabaptist_n abolish_v by_o the_o scripture_n the_o saturday_n sabbath_n as_o a_o jewish_a ceremony_n then_o may_v we_o with_o they_o also_o abolish_v by_o the_o scripture_n the_o whole_a law_n of_o god_n even_o all_o the_o ten_o commandment_n as_o jewish_a ceremony_n but_o neither_o we_o may_v nor_o a_o ordinance_n of_o the_o magistrate_n and_o as_o in_o obedience_n to_o their_o governor_n yet_o so_o too_o as_o in_o case_n they_o can_v do_v any_o common_a servile_a work_n on_o the_o lord_n day_n without_o offence_n to_o any_o they_o will_v and_o do_v profess_v it_o that_o they_o will_v but_o to_o keep_v any_o sabbath_n as_o a_o divine_a institution_n and_o as_o a_o ordinance_n of_o god_n and_o by_o virtue_n of_o the_o four_o commandment_n this_o they_o do_v reject_v as_o jewish_a and_o ceremonial_a and_o for_o their_o warrant_n among_o other_o text_n of_o scripture_n as_o we_o do_v so_o do_v they_o allege_v exod._n 31.13_o &_o colos_n 2.16.17_o against_o the_o saturday_n sabbath_n show_v that_o it_o be_v abolish_v as_o a_o sign_n and_o shadow_n etc._n etc._n thus_o they_o scripture_n which_o these_o sectary_n do_v allege_v against_o it_o as_o there_o be_v in_o those_o other_o scripture_n which_o they_o allege_v against_o the_o saturday_n sabbath_n but_o for_o this_o matter_n i_o shall_v make_v it_o appear_v that_o as_o these_o sectary_n have_v as_o little_a cause_n to_o urge_v these_o text_n against_o the_o whole_a moral_a law_n as_o they_o or_o we_o have_v to_o allege_v those_o text_n against_o the_o old_a sabbath_n day_n so_o they_o have_v as_o good_a cause_n &_o as_o strong_a reason_n to_o allege_v these_o text_n against_o the_o whole_a law_n as_o they_o and_o we_o have_v to_o allege_v those_o text_n against_o the_o old_a sabbath_n day_n for_o this_o purpose_n let_v we_o compare_v the_o text_n on_o either_o part_n first_o for_o the_o text_n bring_v against_o the_o sabbath_n day_n exod._n 31.13_o &_o colos_n 2.16.17_o here_o say_v they_o &_o we_o the_o sabbath_n in_o the_o moral_a law_n be_v make_v a_o sign_n &_o a_o shadow_n now_o all_o sign_n expound_v as_o they_o will_v cause_v man_n to_o fall_v by_o the_o la_o say_v the_o la_o command_v the_o lord_n day_n for_o sabbath_n &_o not_o the_o seven_o day_n which_o be_v as_o false_a as_o false_a can_v be_v 2._o i_o find_v their_o testimony_n insufficient_a &_o therefore_o i_o shall_v no_o more_o advice_n peopleto_fw-it take_v their_o minister_n counsel_n in_o this_o matter_n i_o enough_o for_o what_o great_a cause_n can_v there_o be_v to_o move_v one_o to_o suspect_v their_o zeal_n to_o be_v ignorance_n &_o their_o holiness_n to_o be_v hollowness_n &_o &_o feign_v then_o to_o hear_v they_o speak_v or_o dispute_v against_o god_n word_n &_o ordinance_n &_o against_o a_o express_a come_v in_o the_o moral_a law_n a_o man_n will_v think_v that_o man_n can_v not_o be_v sound_a holiness_n &_o learning_n what_o if_o they_o be_v never_o so_o zealous_a holy_a pure_a &_o learn_v it_o be_v but_o a_o zeal_n without_o knowledge_n which_o speak_v of_o thing_n not_o sound_o study_v and_o so_o i_o come_v to_o the_o 3d_o property_n namely_o good_a will_n this_o property_n of_o a_o warrantable_a testimony_n our_o minister_n want_v for_o they_o have_v no_o good_a will_n at_o all_o to_o the_o cause_n but_o all_o evil_a will_n that_o may_v be_v witness_v all_o their_o word_n and_o deed_n in_o &_o about_o this_o matter_n if_o a_o man_n have_v a_o cause_n to_o be_v try_v before_o the_o judge_n by_o 12_o jury_n man_n if_o he_o suspect_v some_o one_o of_o the_o 12_o to_o be_v his_o enemy_n they_o say_v it_o be_v lawful_a for_o he_o to_o except_v against_o that_o man_n for_o that_o cause_n &_o the_o judge_n will_v cause_v that_o man_n to_o be_v draw_v and_o a_o other_o to_o be_v swear_v in_o his_o room_n which_o declare_v that_o a_o man_n suspect_v to_o have_v no_o good_a will_n be_v not_o esteem_v a_o fit_a man_n to_o determine_v of_o a_o controversy_n now_o that_o there_o be_v cause_n for_o we_o to_o suspect_v most_o minister_n to_o have_v evil_a will_n to_o this_o they_o have_v use_v against_o i_o for_o defend_v this_o cause_n of_o god_n let_v these_o i_o say_v testify_v whither_o they_o be_v friend_n or_o enemy_n to_o the_o cause_n 2._o there_o be_v great_a cause_n to_o suspect_v they_o will_v be_v no_o friend_n to_o the_o cause_n because_o all_o their_o life_n long_o hitherto_o they_o have_v teach_v the_o people_n to_o the_o contrary_a to_o wit_n that_o they_o may_v pass_v no_o verdict_n touch_v the_o lord_n sabbath_n for_o their_o testimony_n be_v quit_v disable_v as_o you_o see_v &_o therefore_o to_o be_v reject_v furthermore_o party_n we_o say_v be_v no_o fit_a judge_n now_o minister_n in_o this_o case_n be_v party_n for_o they_o be_v violent_a against_o the_o lord_n sabbath_n wherefore_o they_o be_v no_o compitent_a judge_n if_o therefore_o people_n will_v have_v any_o knowledge_n of_o this_o part_n of_o god_n law_n they_o must_v get_v it_o themselves_o by_o their_o own_o study_n of_o the_o point_n they_o must_v search_v my_o book_n for_o god_n sabbath_n and_o their_o book_n &_o sermon_n against_o god_n sabbath_n &_o unpartial_o weigh_v the_o argument_n on_o both_o side_n without_o any_o regard_n have_v at_o all_o to_o the_o author_n thus_o yousee_fw-fr that_o if_o a_o man_n have_v knowledge_n of_o this_o truth_n &_o have_v honesty_n also_o yet_o if_o his_o goodwill_n be_v want_v his_o opinion_n &_o judgement_n be_v of_o mention_v for_o at_o their_o very_a firsthearsay_n of_o the_o point_n before_o they_o have_v read_v the_o book_n or_o study_v the_o point_n thes_n stumble_a block_n appear_v instant_o to_o wit_n if_o they_o embrace_v it_o there_o follow_v loss_n of_o credit_n loss_n of_o live_v &_o the_o rest_n so_o as_o their_o mind_n be_v so_o forestall_v with_o fear_n of_o these_o danger_n as_o they_o can_v &_o judgement_n be_v forestale_v against_o this_o point_n before_o they_o read_v or_o study_v the_o point_n for_o many_o minister_n yea_o the_o most_o who_o never_o study_v the_o point_n no_o nor_o ever_o see_v so_o much_o as_o the_o out_o side_n of_o my_o former_a book_n yet_o at_o the_o first_o hearsay_n of_o it_o cry_v burn_v the_o book_n &_o the_o like_a wherefore_o if_o people_n shall_v say_v i_o but_o now_o our_o minister_n have_v better_o study_v the_o point_n they_o have_v see_v &_o red_a his_o book_n &_o be_v yet_o as_o violent_a against_o it_o as_o before_o etc._n etc._n why_o what_o marvel_n see_v they_o set_v upon_o read_n it_o with_o a_o forestale_v opinion_n they_o resolve_v by_o read_v it_o to_o get_v no_o good_a by_o it_o but_o to_o see_v where_o it_o be_v weak_a in_o their_o conceit_n &_o so_o to_o blaze_v that_o a_o broad_a for_o they_o want_n that_o property_n of_o a_o allowable_a witness_n to_o wit_n goodwill_n and_o what_o though_o people_n say_v their_o minister_n be_v many_o who_o be_v of_o the_o same_o mind_n for_o the_o opinion_n of_o 10000_o of_o they_o be_v not_o worth_a a_o rush_n in_o this_o case_n the_o opinion_n of_o some_o one_o minister_n who_o speak_v for_o the_o lord_n sabbath_n with_o hazard_n to_o loose_v his_o live_n and_o credit_n with_o the_o rest_n be_v more_o to_o be_v esteem_v and_o prize_v by_o the_o people_n i_o avouch_v it_o then_o be_v the_o opinion_n of_o 10000_o minister_n who_o speak_v against_o the_o lord_n sabbath_n not_o dare_v to_o do_v otherwise_o for_o fear_v of_o loss_n of_o live_v credit_n and_o those_o other_o discommodity_n foremention_v the_o testimony_n of_o one_o martyr_n be_v of_o more_o worth_n then_o of_o all_o his_o persecutor_n for_o the_o witness_n of_o these_o many_o be_v to_o be_v suspect_v to_o speak_v for_o their_o profit_n rather_o than_o for_o a_o good_a conscience_n but_o the_o witness_n of_o that_o one_o be_v to_o be_v think_v to_o speak_v rather_o for_o his_o conscience_n then_o for_o his_o profit_n wherefore_o if_o people_n will_v be_v lead_v by_o the_o judgement_n of_o other_o rather_o then_o by_o themselves_o or_o if_o they_o will_v lean_v any_o thing_n
