somewhat_o at_o his_o pleasure_n and_o all_o this_o while_n the_o live_a god_o have_v be_v leave_v and_o forsake_v of_o all_o and_o why_o because_o god_o vouchsafe_v not_o to_o be_v so_o gracious_a to_o all_o the_o world_n to_o declare_v himself_o unto_o they_o we_o see_v then_o how_o man_n be_v become_v as_o beast_n in_o their_o opinion_n and_o that_o be_v for_o default_n of_o teach_v be_v he_o all_o the_o time_n of_o our_o life_n this_o outward_a observe_v of_o his_o commandment_n shall_v be_v but_o a_o frivosous_a show_n and_o a_o pomp_n of_o great_a vanity_n for_o we_o must_v not_o think_v that_o god_n be_v content_v with_o that_o which_o outward_o appear_v although_o it_o be_v high_o price_v and_o esteem_v of_o man_n yet_o be_v it_o but_o as_o a_o vapour_n of_o smoke_n be_v in_o we_o then_o have_v we_o the_o beginning_n of_o the_o whole_a law_n and_o of_o all_o righteousness_n &_o that_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o it_o be_v say_v 7._o that_o the_o true_a wisdom_n be_v the_o fear_n of_o god_n and_o when_o we_o will_v know_v whether_o we_o have_v profit_v in_o the_o law_n of_o god_o we_o must_v sound_v our_o heart_n to_o make_v the_o trial_n hereof_o to_o feel_v if_o we_o have_v such_o a_o zeal_n and_o desire_n that_o god_o be_v honour_v and_o glorify_v of_o we_o for_o if_o there_o be_v such_o a_o fear_n in_o the_o heart_n the_o fruit_n thereof_o will_v appear_v both_o in_o our_o hand_n and_o in_o our_o foot_n and_o in_o all_o the_o part_n and_o member_n of_o our_o body_n as_o god_n have_v also_o ordain_v this_o rule_n when_o he_o publish_v his_o law_n so_o that_o they_o which_o boast_v themselves_o of_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n when_o their_o life_n be_v lose_v to_o all_o wickedness_n their_o own_o tongue_n tell_v they_o they_o lie_v and_o they_o show_v full_a well_o how_o impudent_a and_o past_a shame_n they_o be_v when_o they_o vaunt_v so_o much_o of_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n we_o see_v then_o a_o place_n which_o be_v well_o worthy_a to_o be_v observe_v wherein_o moses_n first_o declare_v that_o to_o serve_v god_n aright_o it_o behove_v that_o our_o heart_n be_v whole_o give_v over_o unto_o he_o that_o it_o suffice_v not_o that_o in_o outward_a appearance_n we_o have_v all_o the_o virtue_n that_o a_o man_n may_v imagine_v except_o such_o a_o affection_n and_o inward_a desire_n of_o the_o heart_n go_v before_o again_o that_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n be_v no_o hide_a and_o idle_a thing_n although_o it_o be_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n yet_o must_v it_o appear_v and_o show_v itself_o in_o their_o life_n for_o it_o be_v the_o heart_n which_o govern_v both_o the_o hand_n and_o the_o foot_n and_o all_o the_o other_o part_n and_o member_n of_o the_o body_n we_o must_v therefore_o learn_v to_o show_v by_o effect_n and_o experience_n that_o we_o fear_v god_n by_o order_v our_o whole_a life_n according_a unto_o his_o will._n now_o hereby_o we_o may_v well_o gather_v that_o god_n disallow_v allthing_n which_o man_n attempt_v beside_o his_o word_n as_o the_o papist_n be_v continual_a man_n and_o religious_a as_o they_o say_v in_o the_o service_n of_o god_n but_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n what_o do_v they_o they_o travel_v much_o and_o be_v never_o the_o near_o for_o they_o profit_v nothing_o because_o in_o the_o whole_a worship_n of_o god_n which_o they_o pretend_v there_o be_v nothing_o but_o the_o invention_n and_o device_n of_o man_n to_o serve_v god_n be_v to_o mumble_v a_o few_o small_a prayer_n and_o to_o crouch_v before_o their_o moppet_n and_o idol_n to_o trudge_v from_o altar_n to_o altar_n to_o chant_v their_o mass_n to_o gad_n on_o pilgrimage_n to_o fast_v such_o a_o day_n in_o the_o honour_n of_o such_o and_o such_o a_o saint_n to_o eat_v no_o flesh_n on_o friday_n nor_o saturday_n brief_o it_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o a_o dungeon_n of_o such_o like_a trumpery_n whatsoever_o they_o have_v under_o this_o shadow_n
and_o title_n of_o the_o service_n of_o god_n but_o shall_v one_o find_v that_o god_n ever_o sound_v one_o word_n or_o syllable_n hereof_o no_o all_o this_o have_v be_v devise_v by_o man_n let_v we_o now_o consider_v by_o this_o place_n whether_o god_n accept_v such_o a_o service_n as_o good_a and_o lawful_a nay_o contrariwise_o he_o say_v that_o thou_o fear_v the_o lord_n thy_o god_n &_o that_o thou_o observe_v all_o his_o commandment_n but_o when_o man_n turn_v themselves_o aside_o from_o such_o a_o way_n and_o follow_v their_o own_o fantasy_n and_o whatsoever_o shall_v have_v be_v forge_v but_o yet_o it_o suffice_v not_o that_o every_o one_o for_o his_o own_o part_n only_o employ_v himself_o to_o serve_v and_o honour_n god_n but_o we_o must_v procure_v and_o endeavour_n as_o much_o the_o name_n of_o god_o live_v not_o and_o die_v with_o we_o when_o we_o shall_v be_v take_v out_o of_o the_o world_n but_o that_o it_o remain_v and_o abide_v unto_o all_o posterity_n and_o lo_o what_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o moses_n say_v their_o child_n and_o those_o which_o shall_v issue_v from_o their_o race_n shall_v continue_v to_o serve_v god_n and_o too_o bserue_v his_o law_n let_v we_o therefore_o diligent_o note_v that_o moses_n in_o this_o place_n not_o only_o exhort_v every_o one_o for_o his_o own_o time_n to_o serve_v and_o obey_v god_o by_o conform_v his_o life_n unto_o the_o law_n which_o he_o have_v deliver_v but_o he_o will_v that_o father_n bestow_v all_o their_o pain_n to_o instruct_v their_o child_n that_o we_o may_v leave_v such_o a_o seed_n after_o we_o if_o be_v descend_v from_o our_o loin_n may_v be_v bless_v and_o that_o the_o covenant_n of_o god_n wherein_o our_o salvation_n be_v contain_v endure_v for_o ever_o and_o never_o perish_v albeit_o we_o be_v mertall_a and_o of_o small_a continuance_n but_o we_o be_v so_o far_o from_o discharge_v our_o duty_n in_o this_o doctrine_n that_o we_o may_v see_v father_n give_v such_o example_n unto_o their_o child_n that_o it_o seem_v they_o have_v conspire_v to_o abolish_v and_o to_o take_v clean_o away_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n and_o the_o whole_a observation_n of_o his_o law_n we_o ought_v not_o therefore_o to_o marvel_v if_o god_o also_o withdraw_v himself_o from_o we_o and_o that_o it_o seem_v that_o he_o will_v cut_v off_o quite_o all_o the_o benefit_n and_o blessing_n which_o he_o have_v bestow_v on_o we_o for_o be_v we_o worthy_a unto_o who_o he_o shall_v continue_v they_o see_v we_o be_v so_o reckless_a and_o negligent_a to_o procure_v that_o his_o service_n and_o worship_n may_v continue_v in_o his_o entire_a and_o perfect_a estate_n and_o yet_o this_o shall_v serve_v we_o to_o so_o good_a a_o purpose_n as_o i_o have_v say_v that_o it_o be_v not_o speak_v in_o vain_a let_v we_o therefore_o labour_n with_o all_o our_o might_n to_o teach_v those_o which_o shall_v come_v after_o we_o in_o such_o sort_n that_o the_o worship_n of_o god_o and_o his_o service_n may_v continue_v for_o ever_o and_o that_o man_n always_o know_v and_o acknowledge_v he_o for_o the_o father_n and_o saviour_n of_o all_o the_o world_n and_o give_v themselves_o over_o full_o and_o whole_o unto_o he_o withal_o moses_n have_v adjoin_v that_o whereof_o he_o have_v before_o speak_v that_o this_o be_v to_o the_o end_n that_o their_o day_n may_v be_v prolong_v and_o that_o god_o may_v make_v already_o expound_v what_o moses_n have_v understand_v by_o this_o word_n namely_o that_o god_n albeit_o by_o one_o word_n he_o may_v constrain_v we_o to_o serve_v he_o notwithstanding_o use_v towards_o we_o a_o most_o mild_a and_o amiable_a manner_n to_o win_v we_o to_o himself_o when_o he_o promise_v we_o a_o reward_n when_o we_o shall_v have_v serve_v he_o not_o that_o our_o work_v deserve_v any_o thing_n or_o that_o he_o be_v any_o thing_n at_o all_o bind_v unto_o we_o but_o when_o he_o gratifi_v we_o so_o and_o be_v in_o such_o wise_a beneficial_a towards_o we_o it_o be_v to_o this_o end_n that_o we_o may_v be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o lively_a touch_v &_o that_o we_o may_v serve_v he_o with_o a_o more_o ardent_a zeal_n &_o desire_n for_o shall_v we_o not_o be_v over_o they_o as_o it_o be_v upbraid_v they_o that_o by_o their_o tradition_n they_o have_v set_v at_o naught_o the_o statute_n and_o commandment_n of_o god_n so_o then_o let_v we_o beware_v how_o we_o of_o you_o so_o then_o will_v we_o approve_v our_o life_n unto_o god_o we_o must_v not_o think_v to_o yield_v he_o obedience_n in_o part_n only_o but_o we_o must_v take_v heed_n we_o order_v our_o whole_a life_n unto_o that_o which_o he_o command_v we_o in_o such_o sort_n that_o we_o may_v true_o protest_v and_o say_v that_o we_o have_v hold_v ourselves_o in_o all_o the_o way_n of_o the_o lord_n but_o here_o one_o may_v make_v a_o question_n whether_o it_o be_v possible_a that_o we_o may_v walk_v altogether_o in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n for_o contrariwise_o see_v it_o be_v so_o that_o man_n do_v not_o the_o good_a they_o desire_v to_o do_v it_o shall_v be_v much_o when_o we_o shall_v have_v endeavour_v to_o come_v to_o the_o right_a way_n and_o to_o go_v as_o far_o forward_o towards_o the_o end_n as_o we_o may_v though_o we_o come_v not_o thereto_o saint_n paul_n himself_o complain_v that_o he_o can_v not_o do_v that_o 17._o which_o he_o have_v desire_v for_o to_o discharge_v his_o duty_n towards_o god_n but_o here_o be_v no_o speak_v of_o such_o perfection_n as_o be_v require_v in_o the_o law_n but_o we_o must_v only_o understand_v that_o god_n will_v have_v man_n employ_v themselves_o with_o all_o diligence_n in_o his_o service_n and_o that_o they_o enforce_v themselves_o thereto_o that_o they_o make_v their_o race_n therein_o albeit_o they_o can_v not_o attain_v the_o end_n thereof_o therefore_o although_o for_o all_o our_o life_n time_n we_o go_v as_o drail_v our_o leg_n after_o we_o and_o that_o we_o come_v not_o full_o and_o perfect_o unto_o god_n yet_o must_v we_o proceed_v hereunto_o and_o go_v on_o forward_o not_o in_o part_n only_o but_o in_o all_o that_o which_o be_v contain_v in_o the_o law_n it_o be_v true_a that_o we_o can_v not_o acquit_v ourselves_o herein_o in_o such_o sort_n that_o there_o be_v a_o full_a and_o correspondent_a agreement_n between_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o our_o life_n but_o when_o we_o shall_v have_v this_o desire_n to_o order_v ourselves_o unto_o god_n and_o to_o conform_v ourselves_o unto_o his_o will_n not_o in_o one_o point_n or_o article_n only_o but_o in_o all_o without_o exception_n and_o when_o we_o shall_v have_v bestow_v our_o whole_a travel_n and_o industry_n herein_o behold_v how_o we_o shall_v hold_v we_o in_o all_o the_o way_n of_o god._n for_o he_o bear_v with_o we_o in_o such_o sort_n that_o he_o accept_v in_o good_a part_n such_o a_o desire_n when_o he_o see_v we_o to_o go_v round_o to_o work_v in_o his_o service_n and_o that_o we_o double_v not_o with_o he_o and_o that_o we_o reserve_v not_o to_o ourselves_o our_o own_o lust_n and_o desire_n nor_o yield_v we_o the_o liberty_n and_o leave_n to_o fulfil_v they_o but_o that_o we_o labour_v to_o please_v and_o to_o serve_v he_o as_o much_o as_o we_o may_v and_o according_a unto_o the_o grace_n which_o be_v give_v we_o now_o withal_o he_o also_o adjoin_v that_o they_o may_v prosper_v and_o that_o it_o may_v be_v
