now_o what_o be_v that_o to_o the_o purpose_n when_o one_o ask_v you_o this_o question_n what_o be_v it_o to_o believe_v on_o jesus_n christ_n to_o tell_v he_o that_o all_o man_n do_v some_o way_n understand_v what_o it_o be_v for_o some_o to_o wit_n christ_n friend_n understand_v it_o the_o right_a way_n and_o other_o to_o wit_n his_o enemy_n understand_v it_o the_o wrong_a way_n if_o our_o author_n shall_v say_v that_o he_o mean_v not_o so_o that_o all_o man_n do_v understand_v it_o some_o way_n that_o be_v either_o the_o right_n or_o the_o wrong_a way_n he_o will_v make_v himself_o yet_o more_o ridiculous_a for_o the_o unbeliever_n will_v in_o all_o probability_n desire_v he_o to_o name_n and_o show_v any_o one_o way_n of_o understand_v a_o thing_n which_o be_v neither_o the_o right_a way_n nor_o the_o wrong_a way_n of_o understand_v it_o and_o all_o man_n of_o sense_n will_v laugh_v at_o he_o if_o he_o shall_v in_o earnest_n go_v about_o to_o convince_v a_o unbeliever_n that_o there_o be_v a_o way_n of_o understanding_n what_o faith_n be_v which_o be_v neither_o the_o right_a way_n nor_o the_o wrong_a way_n if_o last_o our_o author_n shall_v tell_v the_o unbeliever_n that_o in_o say_v all_o man_n do_v some_o way_n understand_v what_o faith_n in_o christ_n be_v his_o meaning_n be_v that_o all_o man_n understand_v it_o the_o right_a way_n the_o unbeliever_n will_v reply_v upon_o he_o that_o if_o that_o be_v his_o meaning_n than_o his_o meaning_n must_v needs_o be_v false_a because_o he_o himself_o in_o the_o 20_o page_z of_o his_o letter_n affirm_v that_o all_o the_o ignorant_a people_n among_o christian_n and_o among_o christian_n too_o of_o the_o reform_a church_n in_o england_n have_v no_o knowledge_n of_o faith_n in_o christ_n except_o by_o faith_n you_o understand_v a_o dream_n of_o be_v save_v by_o jesus_n christ_n though_o they_o know_v nothing_o of_o he_o or_o of_o his_o way_n of_o save_a man_n nor_o of_o the_o way_n of_o be_v save_v by_o he_o now_o if_o all_o the_o ignorant_a people_n among_o we_o know_v nothing_o of_o faith_n in_o christ_n in_o the_o right_a way_n unless_o the_o dream_a way_n be_v the_o right_a way_n how_o can_v our_o author_n prove_v that_o all_o the_o unbeliever_n among_o the_o jew_n and_o heathen_n among_o who_o christ_n and_o his_o apostle_n preach_v whereof_o many_o be_v gross_o ignorant_a do_v understand_v aright_o what_o faith_n in_o christ_n be_v do_v our_o ignorant_a people_n know_v nothing_o of_o christ_n nor_o of_o his_o way_n of_o save_a man_n and_o do_v not_o the_o ignorant_a jew_n and_o of_o god_n in_o a_o mystery_n they_o will_v not_o have_v crucify_a the_o lord_n of_o glory_n whence_o it_o be_v evident_a that_o either_o they_o have_v no_o notion_n of_o faith_n in_o christ_n and_o of_o salvation_n by_o he_o or_o if_o they_o have_v any_o at_o all_o it_o be_v a_o wrong_n and_o false_a notion_n and_o to_o tell_v a_o man_n who_o ask_v we_o what_o it_o be_v to_o believe_v in_o jesus_n christ_n that_o even_o the_o enemy_n of_o christ_n some_o way_n understand_v what_o it_o be_v because_o they_o have_v some_o wrong_n and_o false_a notion_n of_o it_o be_v both_o impertinent_a and_o ridiculous_a and_o be_v such_o a_o answer_n as_o be_v more_o apt_a to_o make_v a_o unbeliever_n laugh_v at_o christ_n minister_n and_o harden_v and_o confirm_v he_o in_o his_o unbelief_n than_o to_o move_v he_o unto_o seriousness_n and_o to_o persuade_v he_o to_o believe_v so_o much_o for_o the_o unbeliever_n first_o pertinent_a question_n and_o our_o author_n impertinent_a answer_n to_o it_o we_o pass_v on_o to_o the_o other_o question_n and_o answer_n as_o he_o have_v set_v they_o down_o in_o the_o 16_o and_o 17_o page_n of_o his_o letter_n quest_n 2._o unbeliever_n what_o be_v a_o man_n to_o believe_v to_o wit_n at_o first_o minister_n answer_v he_o be_v not_o call_v to_o believe_v that_o he_o be_v in_o chaste_a and_o that_o his_o sin_n be_v pardon_v and_o he_o a_o justify_v man_n but_o he_o be_v to_o believe_v god_n record_n concern_v christ_n 1_o john_n 5.10_o 11_o 12._o and_o this_o record_n be_v that_o god_n give_v that_o be_v offer_v to_o we_o eternal_a life_n in_o to_o believe_v because_o if_o he_o attentive_o read_v and_o consider_v our_o author_n letter_n he_o will_v see_v cause_n to_o doubt_v whether_o in_o this_o matter_n he_o real_o believe_v himself_o because_o in_o his_o appendix_n pag._n 35._o he_o most_o high_o commend_v and_o approve_v mr._n marshal_n late_a book_n and_o in_o the_o seven_o page_n of_o his_o letter_n he_o say_v expesly_a that_o the_o lord_n himself_o have_v teach_v we_o by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n in_o the_o canonical_a scripture_n and_o therefore_o if_o the_o scripture_n be_v true_a this_o doctrine_n can_v be_v false_a but_o
