thou_o will_v find_v it_o a_o hard_a duty_n than_o prayer_n thy_o own_o necessity_n self-love_n and_o self-interest_n may_v animate_v a_o man_n to_o prayer_n but_o praise_v god_n be_v a_o self-denying_a duty_n and_o though_o in_o some_o thing_n thou_o may_v take_v more_o liberty_n than_o in_o a_o fast_a as_o in_o the_o liberal_a use_n of_o the_o creature_n and_o in_o some_o thing_n more_o than_o on_o a_o sabbath_n as_o in_o outward_a expression_n of_o joy_n yet_o thy_o heart_n shall_v keep_v as_o close_o to_o god_n in_o this_o as_o in_o any_o other_o day_n or_o duty_n and_o be_v as_o much_o enlarge_v to_o god_n and_o though_o thou_o may_v adorn_v thyself_o and_o it_o be_v fit_a thou_o shall_v yet_o beware_v of_o pride_v in_o thy_o clothes_n this_o be_v unsuitable_a to_o a_o self-denying_a duty_n and_o though_o thou_o may_v eat_v the_o fat_a and_o drink_v the_o sweet_a and_o eat_v thy_o bread_n with_o joy_n and_o drink_v thy_o wine_n with_o a_o merry_a heart_n yet_o immoderation_n be_v unlawful_a thou_o may_v drink_v to_o cheerfulness_n not_o to_o excess_n to_o help_v thou_o in_o the_o work_n not_o to_o hinder_v thou_o in_o thy_o duty_n prepare_v thy_o heart_n in_o the_o morning_n as_o by_o meditation_n so_o by_o prayer_n for_o direction_n and_o assistance_n in_o the_o work_n to_o gather_v in_o thy_o scatter_a thought_n and_o affection_n and_o sequester_v they_o from_o the_o world_n for_o the_o service_n of_o the_o day_n and_o forget_v not_o to_o praise_v he_o for_o private_a and_o particular_a mercy_n which_o thou_o have_v receive_v for_o return_n of_o prayer_n etc._n etc._n jacob_n do_v thus_o for_o temporal_a as_o well_o as_o spiritual_a favour_n gen._n 32.10_o god_n will_v have_v we_o sensible_a of_o these_o as_o well_o as_o church_n or_o state_n mercy_n call_v also_o thy_o family_n together_o in_o due_a time_n read_v some_o scripture_n suitable_a to_o the_o occasion_n let_v they_o understand_v that_o they_o also_o be_v concern_v in_o the_o duty_n of_o the_o day_n sing_v some_o psalm_n of_o praise_n to_o this_o purpose_n let_v he_o that_o be_v merry_a sing_v psalm_n james_n 5.13_o praise_v god_n with_o they_o and_o for_o they_o and_o re-count_a to_o his_o praise_n the_o many_o family_n mercy_n thou_o have_v
