stream_n of_o water_n and_o the_o bubble_n that_o be_v upon_o it_o which_o in_o the_o very_a moment_n of_o our_o admiration_n slide_v away_o and_o stay_v not_o for_o our_o praise_n or_o our_o love_n or_o as_o if_o he_o shall_v fall_v in_o love_n with_o some_o of_o those_o bright_a cloud_n which_o roll_n above_o our_o head_n and_o which_o for_o all_o their_o take_a brightness_n will_v quick_o disappear_v it_o will_v abate_v that_o tenderness_n and_o delicacy_n wherewith_o we_o treat_v our_o body_n if_o we_o do_v but_o leisurely_o consider_v what_o strange_a misery_n may_v afflict_v they_o before_o the_o period_n of_o this_o mortal_a life_n it_o be_v a_o sad_a reflection_n as_o one_o say_v to_o consider_v that_o when_o life_n be_v so_o short_a and_o so_o fade_a so_o much_o of_o so_o little_a shall_v be_v wear_v away_o in_o misery_n and_o torment_n some_o indeed_o by_o a_o particular_a dispensation_n and_o a_o most_o favourable_a providence_n be_v allow_v to_o pass_v into_o the_o other_o world_n without_o
have_v good_a hope_n that_o they_o will_v be_v so_o but_o if_o you_o be_v immoderate_a in_o your_o recreation_n your_o eat_v drink_v or_o your_o apparel_n it_o be_v very_o likely_a they_o will_v be_v so_o and_o what_o flame_n will_v it_o add_v to_o your_o misery_n to_o think_v that_o you_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o their_o everlasting_a destruction_n and_o how_o will_v you_o bear_v it_o to_o hear_v their_o cry_n and_o bitter_a expression_n when_o they_o shall_v curse_v you_o for_o not_o have_v give_v to_o they_o good_a instruction_n and_o seasonable_a warning_n and_o a_o holy_a example_n by_o which_o they_o may_v have_v be_v enable_v to_o fly_v from_o the_o wrath_n to_o come_v you_o may_v now_o do_v much_o more_o good_a by_o practise_v one_o command_n than_o by_o cause_v to_o learn_v all_o the_o ten_o and_o though_o you_o be_v so_o poor_a that_o you_o have_v no_o riches_n or_o estate_n to_o leave_v they_o yet_o you_o may_v leave_v your_o prayer_n and_o your_o good_a example_n to_o the_o next_o generation_n we_o common_o say_v of_o a_o rich_a covetous_a miser_n that_o he_o will_v never_o do_v any_o good_a whilst_o he_o live_v and_o we_o may_v say_v of_o he_o and_o all_o other_o that_o be_v not_o true_a christian_n that_o they_o will_v never_o do_v any_o good_a when_o they_o be_v dead_a for_o when_o they_o die_v they_o be_v like_o nero_n they_o leave_v abundance_n of_o poison_n behind_o they_o they_o infect_v the_o air_n with_o their_o oath_n and_o blasphemy_n when_o they_o live_v and_o when_o they_o be_v go_v the_o contagion_n spread_v and_o their_o ill_a precedent_n meet_v with_o corrupt_a nature_n which_o incline_v all_o man_n to_o what_o be_v bad_a do_v convey_v its_o venom_n to_o several_a other_o that_o they_o leave_v behind_o what_o a_o impression_n many_o time_n for_o the_o devil_n and_o enlarge_v his_o kingdom_n when_o they_o be_v rot_v in_o the_o grave_a whereas_o if_o you_o be_v zealous_a for_o god_n the_o remain_a flame_n of_o your_o zeal_n may_v awaken_v some_o lukewarm_a and_o slothful_a christian_n to_o do_v what_o you_o have_v do_v for_o he_o may_v thus_o argue_v if_o that_o holy_a man_n pray_v so_o hard_a and_o strive_v so_o much_o what_o cause_n have_v i_o to_o pray_v and_o strive_v for_o i_o have_v a_o soul_n to_o save_v as_o well_o as_o he_o and_o as_o the_o gate_n be_v straight_o to_o he_o so_o will_v it_o be_v to_o i_o and_o as_o it_o set_v that_o heat_n and_o warmth_n and_o vegetation_n which_o it_o have_v give_v to_o herb_n and_o plant_n do_v remain_v and_o its_o influence_n be_v feel_v when_o it_o be_v no_o long_o to_o be_v see_v thus_o you_o will_v be_v as_o herb_n and_o flower_n which_o when_o they_o be_v gather_v be_v medicinal_a and_o yield_v juice_n healthful_a and_o necessary_a to_o the_o body_n or_o as_o the_o corn_n which_o when_o it_o be_v cut_v down_o be_v serviceable_a for_o food_n and_o nourishment_n thus_o every_o man_n may_v so_o contrive_v it_o that_o he_o may_v be_v serviceable_a to_o the_o world_n when_o he_o do_v not_o live_v in_o it_o any_o more_o thus_o the_o apostle_n spread_v a_o most_o diffusive_a light_n by_o their_o holiness_n and_o doctrine_n which_o all_o the_o malice_n of_o hell_n ointment_n delightful_a and_o dear_a to_o other_o whereas_o if_o we_o be_v wicked_a we_o shall_v have_v the_o same_o fate_n with_o jehoram_n who_o die_v without_o be_v desire_v 2_o chron._n 21._o 20._o thus_o i_o say_v our_o example_n will_v do_v more_o good_a than_o many_o bare_a instruction_n as_o soldier_n will_v be_v more_o animate_v and_o forward_o when_o they_o see_v one_o example_n of_o scarce_o know_v how_o to_o spend_v fifty_o or_o sixty_o year_n in_o it_o but_o how_o bad_a will_v it_o probable_o be_v be_v the_o life_n of_o man_n extend_v to_o six_o seven_o or_o eight_o hundred_o year_n if_o so_o near_o a_o prospect_n of_o the_o other_o world_n as_o forty_o or_o fifty_o year_n can_v restrain_v man_n from_o the_o great_a villainy_n what_o will_v they_o do_v if_o they_o can_v as_o reasonable_o suppose_v death_n to_o be_v at_o three_o or_o four_o hundred_o year_n off_o if_o man_n make_v such_o improvement_n in_o wickedness_n in_o twenty_o or_o thirty_o year_n what_o will_v they_o do_v in_o hundred_o and_o then_o what_o a_o bless_a place_n will_v this_o world_n be_v and_o to_o excite_v you_o to_o be_v the_o more_o careful_a in_o the_o improve_n of_o your_o sickness_n let_v i_o add_v these_o three_o follow_a consideration_n cons._n 1._o how_o many_o be_v dead_a since_o you_o be_v first_o ill_a how_o many_o excellent_a minister_n who_o you_o must_v never_o hear_v again_o how_o many_o of_o your_o dear_a friend_n be_v now_o in_o the_o cold_a grave_a with_o who_o you_o can_v now_o discourse_v and_o who_o face_n you_o shall_v never_o see_v till_o the_o great_a day_n many_o have_v sink_v in_o a_o calm_a and_o several_a among_o we_o have_v outlive_v a_o storm_n many_o have_v perish_v with_o less_o pain_n and_o less_o violent_a disease_n than_o those_o which_o some_o of_o we_o have_v have_v this_o shall_v engage_v we_o to_o make_v suitable_a return_n to_o that_o god_n who_o have_v spare_v we_o when_o he_o have_v take_v they_o away_o cons._n 2._o this_o improvement_n of_o our_o sickness_n and_o recovery_n will_v exempt_v we_o from_o the_o number_n of_o those_o hateful_a people_n that_o be_v not_o only_o no_o better_o but_o a_o great_a deal_n worse_o when_o they_o be_v bring_v out_o of_o distress_n than_o they_o be_v before_o and_o it_o be_v general_o think_v that_o of_o a_o thousand_o people_n that_o make_v large_a promise_n in_o their_o sickness_n there_o be_v scarce_o fifty_o that_o keep_v their_o word_n and_o perform_v their_o vow_n when_o they_o be_v recover_v those_o good_a purpose_n which_o they_o have_v be_v the_o product_n of_o their_o fear_n and_o when_o those_o be_v over_o their_o intend_a goodness_n do_v also_o vanish_v away_o cons._n 3._o this_o good_a improvement_n of_o your_o new_a life_n may_v engage_v god_n to_o prolong_v your_o time_n to_o a_o honourable_a old_a age._n for_o though_o we_o can_v merit_v nothing_o at_o his_o hand_n yet_o if_o we_o labour_v hard_o in_o his_o service_n it_o may_v be_v he_o will_v not_o cause_v our_o sun_n to_o go_v down_o at_o noon_n but_o continue_v we_o in_o his_o vineyard_n till_o the_o evening_n of_o the_o day_n i_o now_o proceed_v brief_o to_o consider_v the_o four_o verse_n ver._n 4._o sing_v unto_o the_o lord_n o_o you_o saint_n of_o he_o and_o give_v thanks_o at_o the_o remembrance_n of_o his_o holiness_n from_o these_o word_n i_o shall_v insist_v on_o this_o proposition_n that_o person_n that_o have_v receive_v wonderful_a obs._n deliverance_n from_o death_n ought_v not_o only_o to_o praise_n god_n himself_o but_o to_o excite_v and_o call_v upon_o
