goodness_n rectitude_n and_o beauty_n of_o his_o nature_n he_o be_v absolute_o perfect_a in_o himself_o the_o supreme_a chief_a and_o pure_a good_a without_o the_o least_o mixture_n of_o any_o thing_n that_o be_v a_o stain_n to_o perfection_n or_o a_o debasement_n and_o diminution_n of_o it_o this_o be_v essential_a to_o the_o deity_n and_o necessary_o include_v in_o the_o notion_n of_o god_n and_o as_o he_o be_v the_o most_o perfect_a be_v in_o his_o own_o nature_n so_o be_v he_o too_o the_o cause_n and_o spring_v whence_o all_o those_o perfection_n be_v derive_v which_o be_v in_o any_o degree_n remarkable_a in_o his_o creature_n especial_o of_o those_o perfection_n whereby_o all_o rational_a being_n angel_n and_o man_n excel_v the_o rest_n whatever_o excellency_n be_v in_o these_o according_a to_o the_o measure_n of_o their_o capacity_n we_o must_v suppose_v to_o be_v in_o god_n in_o the_o high_a degree_n because_o it_o be_v unconceivable_a how_o he_o can_v communicate_v that_o to_o other_o which_o he_o himself_o have_v not_o therefore_o in_o frame_v our_o idea_n of_o god_n we_o must_v abstract_n and_o lay_v aside_o all_o conception_n which_o include_v defect_n or_o any_o thing_n that_o be_v a_o disparagement_n to_o excellency_n though_o it_o be_v impossible_a for_o we_o poor_a finite_a creature_n to_o have_v adequate_a notion_n of_o that_o infinite_a be_v or_o to_o understand_v and_o know_v he_o full_o as_o he_o be_v especial_o while_o we_o ourselves_o be_v in_o this_o mortal_a state_n yet_o this_o be_v the_o best_a way_n of_o raise_v our_o mind_n to_o the_o clear_a and_o true_a apprehension_n of_o he_o by_o ascribe_v to_o he_o all_o that_o argue_v true_a excellency_n and_o perfection_n and_o by_o separate_v from_o our_o conception_n of_o he_o whatever_o serve_v or_o seem_v to_o degrade_v lower_v and_o vilify_v a_o most_o perfect_a be_v and_o to_o hit_v this_o matter_n right_o we_o shall_v observe_v what_o be_v vile_a in_o ourselves_o defective_a and_o reproachful_a in_o our_o own_o nature_n and_o be_v sure_a to_o remove_v and_o throw_v away_o all_o that_o from_o our_o conception_n of_o god_n for_o though_o god_n have_v give_v we_o divers_a excellent_a faculty_n yet_o in_o each_o of_o these_o there_o be_v something_o that_o do_v deprave_v vitiate_v and_o be_v a_o blemish_n to_o it_o in_o our_o understanding_n there_o be_v much_o darkness_n in_o our_o will_n there_o be_v a_o averseness_n to_o follow_v reason_n many_o time_n though_o it_o be_v clear_a a_o crookedness_n that_o make_v we_o stand_v awry_o and_o hold_v off_o from_o that_o which_o be_v good_a and_o in_o the_o low_a faculty_n of_o the_o soul_n there_o be_v many_o passion_n and_o affection_n which_o most_o of_o all_o argue_v defect_n in_o we_o and_o be_v the_o great_a disparagement_n and_o stain_v to_o humane_a nature_n therefore_o they_o be_v call_v vice_n because_o they_o be_v a_o blemish_n and_o pollution_n to_o that_o spiritual_a be_v the_o soul_n and_o so_o great_a a_o blemish_n that_o the_o foulness_n of_o they_o be_v discoverable_a by_o the_o ordinary_a light_n of_o nature_n frowardness_n rage_n malice_n spitefulness_n lie_v insincerity_n cruelty_n crossness_n of_o temper_n love_n of_o mischief_n and_o the_o pleasure_n some_o take_v in_o oppress_v hurt_v ruine_v poor_a people_n and_o many_o time_n too_o when_o there_o be_v no_o other_o reason_n for_o such_o barbarous_a action_n but_o only_o the_o fierceness_n and_o violence_n of_o a_o blind_a passion_n these_o be_v very_o ugly_a thing_n and_o such_o as_o appear_v very_o ugly_a in_o the_o eye_n of_o heathen_n themselves_o they_o argue_v great_a defect_n and_o corruption_n in_o humane_a nature_n and_o be_v a_o disgrace_n to_o it_o they_o be_v the_o effort_n of_o base_a mind_n and_o sign_n of_o a_o very_a scurvy_a temper_n action_n that_o proceed_v from_o very_o degenerate_a spirit_n and_o evil_a heart_n and_o such_o as_o be_v hateful_a to_o all_o man_n who_o nature_n be_v at_o all_o refine_v and_o improve_v these_o quality_n therefore_o be_v so_o inconsistent_a with_o all_o excellency_n and_o so_o diametrical_o opposite_a to_o perfection_n we_o may_v be_v sure_a they_o can_v be_v in_o god_n nor_o can_v any_o thing_n like_o they_o have_v room_n in_o his_o divine_a and_o superexcellent_a nature_n to_o represent_v that_o most_o glorious_a be_v as_o one_o that_o from_o eternity_n dispose_v of_o man_n lot_n without_o any_o consideration_n or_o foresight_n of_o their_o action_n as_o one_o that_o make_v mankind_n with_o a_o steadfast_a resolution_n to_o damn_v the_o generality_n of_o they_o or_o at_o least_o take_v advantage_n by_o one_o man_n sin_n to_o consign_v the_o great_a part_n of_o his_o posterity_n to_o everlasting_a torment_n to_o represent_v he_o as_o one_o that_o
