bear_v witness_n from_o heaven_n to_o the_o word_n of_o his_o truth_n i_o shall_v only_o speak_v a_o little_a of_o the_o first_o 1._o some_o argument_n from_o the_o scripture_n themselves_o and_o that_o excellency_n the_o scripture_n excellency_n whether_o we_o respect_v the_o antiquity_n of_o the_o scripture_n or_o the_o excellency_n of_o the_o matter_n therein_o contain_v it_o will_v plain_o mean_n for_o this_o excellent_a grace_n of_o faith_n for_o it_o be_v our_o very_a life_n the_o just_a shall_v live_v by_o his_o faith_n feign_a mark_n of_o true_a faith_n from_o feign_a but_o how_o endure_v his_o book_n shall_v be_v examine_v but_o he_o that_o have_v true_a faith_n he_o desire_v nothing_o more_o than_o the_o through_o trial_n of_o his_o faith_n o_o he_o will_v not_o for_o all_o turn_v round_o to_o it_o again_o so_o faith_n come_v from_o christ_n and_o turn_v round_o to_o he_o again_o to_o draw_v still_o more_o virtue_n from_o he_o as_o our_o communion_n with_o christ_n in_o grace_n flow_v from_o our_o union_n with_o he_o so_o also_o all_o spiritual_a operation_n or_o live_a act_n of_o spiritual_a life_n look_v as_o in_o the_o natural_a body_n the_o life_n of_o all_o the_o member_n be_v from_o the_o head_n and_o that_o life_n convey_v by_o certain_a nerve_n and_o sinew_n to_o every_o part_n so_o the_o life_n of_o sanctification_n in_o all_o the_o member_n be_v derive_v from_o christ_n the_o head_n and_o that_o by_o the_o sinew_n and_o nerve_n of_o faith_n convey_v to_o all_o the_o elect_a in_o due_a time_n by_o which_o they_o live_v and_o more_o and_o more_o increase_n from_o day_n to_o day_n vide_fw-la ephes_n 4.15_o 16._o coloss_n 2.19_o quest_n but_o how_o shall_v i_o know_v that_o my_o spiritual_a action_n and_o operation_n suppose_v prayer_n jesus_n christ_n a_o man_n may_v have_v excellent_a common_a grace_n nay_o and_o he_o may_v counterfeit_v save_v grace_n too_o and_o yet_o these_o not_o spring_n from_o union_n with_o christ_n nay_o a_o man_n may_v be_v strengthen_v by_o christ_n to_o do_v work_n and_o service_n for_o christ_n and_o yet_o that_o strength_n and_o those_o service_n not_o flow_v from_o union_n isa_n 45.1_o etc._n will_v put_v much_o honour_n upon_o that_o grace_n that_o put_v so_o much_o honour_n upon_o god_n faith_n three_o sort_n of_o reason_n from_o the_o nature_n and_o use_n of_o faith_n the_o three_o sort_n of_o reason_n be_v draw_v from_o the_o nature_n and_o use_v of_o faith_n livelihood_n 1._o it_o be_v our_o livelihood_n first_o therefore_o a_o believer_n live_v by_o faith_n because_o a_o believe_v lay_n hold_v upon_o the_o word_n of_o life_n as_o have_v be_v partly_o show_v already_o the_o word_n of_o promise_n the_o promise_n of_o free_a grace_n for_o by_o every_o word_n that_o christ_n second_o they_o differ_v in_o respect_n of_o the_o principle_n of_o faith_n for_o the_o first_o kind_n of_o faith_n man_n have_v by_o the_o grace_n of_o creation_n viz._n power_n to_o give_v credit_n to_o god_n in_o what_o he_o speak_v but_o the_o second_o kind_n of_o faith_n a_o man_n have_v not_o but_o by_o the_o grace_n of_o regeneration_n it_o be_v the_o gift_n of_o god_n to_o believe_v in_o a_o crucify_a saviour_n and_o so_o the_o covenant_n still_o savour_v of_o more_o grace_n because_o the_o just_a life_n by_o this_o latter_a kind_n of_o faith_n lay_v hold_n upon_o the_o word_n of_o life_n upon_o the_o promise_n of_o free_a grace_n for_o this_o be_v the_o proper_a act_n of_o justify_v faith_n now_o by_o promise_n god_n make_v himself_o a_o debtor_n though_o he_o be_v
