rational_a soul_n be_v capable_a of_o this_o will_v appear_v to_o you_o if_o you_o will_v but_o consider_v these_o three_o or_o four_o thing_n 1._o that_o the_o presence_n and_o enjoyment_n of_o some_o good_a of_o which_o the_o soul_n stand_v in_o need_n and_o in_o the_o pursuit_n of_o which_o it_o be_v be_v the_o true_a and_o natural_a cause_n of_o the_o motion_n of_o that_o affection_n which_o we_o call_v joy_n this_o be_v evident_a both_o to_o sense_n and_o reason_n we_o rejoice_v not_o in_o evil_a but_o in_o good_a not_o in_o a_o absent_a but_o in_o a_o present_a good_a in_o the_o and_o a_o imperfect_a notion_n of_o it_o but_o the_o renew_a man_n have_v his_o understanding_n open_v to_o discern_v more_o excellent_a thing_n he_o easy_o see_v that_o god_n be_v the_o chief_a good_a and_o thence_o conclude_v as_o rational_o that_o the_o happiness_n of_o man_n must_v needs_o consist_v in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o god_n in_o union_n and_o communion_n with_o he_o as_o the_o mancipate_v and_o enslave_v to_o his_o sensual_a appetite_n that_o we_o see_v in_o daily_a experience_n it_o do_v not_o the_o drunkard_n the_o unclean_a person_n be_v daily_a proof_n of_o it_o who_o know_v well_o enough_o that_o the_o prosecution_n of_o their_o lust_n in_o those_o thing_n do_v not_o only_o destroy_v their_o contrary_a moral_a habit_n but_o ruin_v their_o life_n health_n reputation_n yet_o can_v forbear_v the_o pursuit_n of_o they_o but_o the_o will_n be_v thus_o renew_v to_o choose_v the_o best_a spiritual_a good_a the_o affection_n move_v in_o a_o natural_a order_n after_o it_o and_o the_o outward_a man_n be_v command_v to_o all_o action_n pursuant_n to_o it_o so_o that_o i_o say_v this_o renovation_n of_o the_o whole_a man_n according_a to_o the_o image_n of_o of_o the_o old_a testament_n concern_v the_o king_n of_o judah_n and_o such_o a_o reformation_n of_o a_o particular_a church_n or_o congregation_n belong_v to_o the_o officer_n of_o christ_n in_o it_o but_o every_o private_a christian_a have_v his_o part_n viz._n to_o inform_v such_o in_o who_o the_o power_n be_v to_o bear_v a_o testimony_n against_o such_o corruption_n and_o not_o to_o have_v
