tanner_n to_o their_o own_o use_n and_o use_n upon_o pain_n of_o forfeiture_n of_o all_o the_o leather_n so_o tan_v contrary_a to_o this_o act_n or_o the_o value_n thereof_o and_o be_v it_o also_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o no_o manner_n of_o person_n or_o person_n whatsoever_o shall_v after_o the_o first_o day_n of_o may_n next_o come_v buy_v bargain_n bespeke_v or_o take_v promise_n of_o bargain_n of_o or_o for_o any_o raw_a hide_n or_o calf_n skin_n but_o of_o or_o for_o such_o and_o the_o same_o as_o shall_v be_v present_a in_o fair_a or_o market_n then_o to_o be_v sell_v ne_o they_o shall_v put_v or_o cause_n to_o be_v put_v to_o sale_n any_o kind_n of_o tan_a leather_n read_v &_o unwrought_a in_o any_o place_n within_o this_o realm_n other_o then_o in_o open_a market_n or_o fair_a in_o the_o place_n therefore_o common_o accustom_v and_o therefore_o prepare_v upon_o pain_n of_o forfeiture_n for_o every_o hide_n iii.s.iiii.d_o for_o every_o dozen_o of_o calf_n skin_n iii.s.iii.d_n and_o the_o hide_n or_o hide_n and_o leather_n in_o any_o otherwise_o sell_v or_o buy_v or_o the_o value_n thereof_o and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o no_o person_n whatsoever_o shall_v or_o may_v after_o the_o feast_n of_o s._n michael_n archangel_n next_o come_v buy_v bargain_n bespeke_v or_o take_v to_o make_v certificate_n as_o be_v aforesaid_a the_o say_a commissioner_n there_o be_v shall_v take_v and_o receive_v the_o same_o certificate_n &_o every_o part_n thereof_o and_o the_o name_n value_n and_o substance_n of_o every_o person_n so_o certify_v and_o if_o the_o same_o commissioner_n see_v cause_n reasonable_a they_o shall_v examine_v the_o say_a presenter_n thereof_o and_o thereupon_o the_o say_a commissioner_n at_o the_o say_a day_n and_o place_n by_o their_o agreement_n amongst_o themselves_o shall_v from_o time_n to_o time_n open_o there_o prefix_v a_o day_n at_o a_o certain_a place_n or_o place_n within_o the_o limit_n of_o their_o commission_n by_o their_o discretion_n for_o their_o further_a proceed_v to_o the_o say_v assess_v of_o the_o same_o subsidy_n and_o thereupon_o at_o the_o say_a day_n of_o the_o say_a certificate_n as_o be_v aforesaid_a take_v the_o same_o commissioner_n shall_v make_v their_o precept_n or_o precept_v to_o the_o constable_n subconstable_n bailiff_n or_o other_o officer_n of_o such_o hundred_o wapentake_n town_n or_o other_o place_n aforesaid_a as_o the_o same_o commissioner_n shall_v be_v of_o comprise_v and_o contain_v in_o the_o same_o precept_n the_o name_n and_o surname_n of_o all_o person_n present_v before_o they_o in_o the_o say_a certificate_n of_o who_o if_o the_o say_a commissioner_n or_o as_o many_o of_o they_o as_o shall_v be_v thereunto_o appoint_v by_o the_o queen_n commission_n shall_v then_o have_v vehement_a suspect_n to_o be_v of_o more_o great_a value_n or_o substance_n in_o land_n good_n cattle_n or_o sum_n of_o money_n owe_v to_o they_o or_o other_o substance_n beforesaid_a then_o upon_o such_o person_n or_o person_n shall_v be_v certify_v the_o same_o commissioner_n shall_v make_v their_o precept_n or_o precept_n direct_v to_o the_o constable_n bailiff_n or_o other_o officer_n command_v the_o same_o constable_n bailiff_n or_o other_o officer_n to_o who_o such_o precept_n shall_v be_v direct_v to_o warn_v such_o person_n who_o name_n shall_v be_v comprise_v in_o the_o say_a precept_n at_o their_o mansion_n or_o to_o their_o person_n that_o the_o same_o person_n name_v in_o such_o precept_n and_o every_o of_o they_o shall_v personal_o appear_v before_o the_o say_a commissioner_n at_o the_o same_o new_a prefix_a day_n &_o place_n there_o to_o be_v examine_v by_o all_o way_n and_o mean_n other_o then_o by_o corporal_a oath_n by_o the_o say_a commissioner_n of_o their_o great_a substance_n and_o best_a value_n and_o of_o all_o &_o every_o sum_n of_o money_n owe_v to_o they_o and_o other_o whatsoever_o matter_n concern_v the_o premise_n or_o any_o of_o they_o accord_v to_o this_o act_n at_o which_o day_n and_o place_n so_o prefix_v the_o say_a commissioner_n then_o and_o there_o be_v or_o as_o many_o of_o they_o as_o shall_v be_v thereunto_o appoint_v by_o the_o queen_n commission_n shall_v cause_v to_o be_v call_v the_o say_a person_n who_o name_n shall_v be_v comprise_v in_o the_o say_a precept_n as_o be_v beforesaid_a for_o their_o examination_n and_o if_o any_o of_o those_o person_n which_o shall_v be_v warn_v as_o be_v beforesaid_a to_o be_v examine_v which_o at_o any_o time_n after_o the_o warning_n and_o before_o the_o prefix_a day_n shall_v be_v within_o such_o place_n where_o he_o may_v have_v knowledge_n of_o his_o say_a appearance_n to_o be_v make_v make_v default_n and_o appear_v not_o unless_o a_o reasonable_a cause_n or_o else_o a_o reasonable_a excuse_n by_o the_o oath_n of_o two_o credible_a person_n before_o the_o say_a commissioner_n be_v true_o allege_v for_o his_o discharge_n that_o then_o every_o of_o they_o so_o make_v default_n to_o be_v tax_v and_o charge_v to_o the_o queen_n majesty_n with_o and_o at_o the_o double_a sum_n of_o the_o rate_n that_o he_o shall_v or_o ought_v to_o have_v be_v set_v at_o for_o and_o after_o the_o best_a value_n of_o his_o land_n or_o substance_n upon_o he_o certify_v if_o he_o have_v appear_v by_o the_o discretion_n of_o the_o commissioner_n there_o be_v which_o commissioner_n shall_v travel_v with_o every_o of_o the_o other_o person_n so_o then_o and_o there_o appear_v who_o name_n shall_v be_v express_v in_o the_o say_a precept_n or_o precept_n and_o in_o who_o any_o vehement_a suspect_n be_v or_o shall_v be_v have_v in_o form_n abovesaid_a by_o all_o such_o way_n and_o mean_v they_o can_v outstretch_o then_o by_o corporal_a oath_n for_o their_o better_a knowledge_n of_o their_o best_a value_n either_o in_o hereditamente_n or_o possession_n either_o else_o in_o good_n or_o debt_n and_o that_o every_o spiritual_a person_n at_o either_o of_o the_o say_a taxation_n of_o the_o say_a subsidy_n shall_v be_v rate_v and_o set_v accord_v to_o the_o rate_n abovesaid_a of_o and_o for_o every_o pound_n that_o the_o same_o spiritual_a person_n or_o any_o other_o to_o his_o use_n have_v by_o descent_n bargain_n or_o purchase_v in_o fee_n simple_a fee_n tail_n term_v of_o life_n term_v of_o year_n by_o execution_n by_o ward_n or_o by_o copy_n of_o court_n roll_n in_o any_o manor_n land_n tenement_n rent_n service_n office_n the_o commissioner_n before_o who_o he_o shall_v be_v rate_v sess_z or_o tax_v or_o before_o two_o of_o they_o that_o then_o the_o say_a commissioner_n shall_v by_o all_o way_n and_o mean_n examine_v particular_o and_o distinct_o the_o person_n so_o complain_v and_o other_o his_o neighbour_n by_o their_o discretion_n of_o every_o his_o land_n and_o tenement_n above_o specify_v and_o of_o every_o his_o good_n cattle_n and_o debt_n above_o mention_v and_o after_o due_a examination_n and_o perfect_a knowledge_n thereof_o have_v and_o perceive_v by_o the_o say_a commissioner_n which_o shall_v have_v power_n by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a the_o say_v commissioner_n or_o two_o of_o they_o to_o who_o any_o such_o complaint_n shall_v be_v make_v by_o their_o discretion_n upon_o the_o oath_n of_o the_o say_a person_n so_o complain_v may_v abate_v defaulke_o increase_n or_o enlarge_v the_o same_o assessment_n accord_v as_o it_o shall_v appear_v unto_o they_o just_a upon_o the_o same_o examination_n and_o the_o same_o sum_n so_o abate_v defaulk_v increase_v or_o enlarge_v to_o be_v estreat_v in_o form_n as_o hereafter_o ensue_v so_o that_o he_o come_v before_o the_o estreate_v of_o the_o same_o assess_n be_v deliver_v by_o the_o same_o commissioner_n into_o the_o queen_n majesty_n exchequere_v and_o if_o it_o be_v prove_v by_o witness_n his_o own_o confession_n or_o other_o lawful_a way_n or_o mean_n within_o a_o year_n after_o any_o such_o oath_n make_v that_o the_o same_o person_n so_o tax_v &_o swear_v be_v of_o any_o better_a or_o great_a value_n in_o land_n good_n or_o other_o thing_n above_o specify_v at_o the_o time_n of_o his_o say_a oath_n than_o the_o same_o person_n so_o swear_v do_v declare_v upon_o his_o say_a oath_n that_o then_o every_o such_o person_n so_o offend_v shall_v lose_v and_o forfeit_v to_o the_o queen_n majesty_n so_o much_o in_o in_o lawful_a money_n of_o england_n as_o the_o same_o person_n so_o swear_v be_v set_v at_o or_o tax_v to_o pay_v and_o all_o person_n set_v rate_a and_o tax_v as_o be_v abovesaid_a shall_v be_v bind_v and_o charge_v by_o the_o same_o &_o the_o sum_n or_o sum_n upon_o he_o set_v to_o be_v due_a towards_o the_o payment_n of_o the_o say_a subsidy_n and_o to_o be_v levy_v as_o hereafter_o shall_v be_v secify_v and_o also_o it_o be_v enact_v by_o the_o same_o authority_n that_o every_o person_n to_o be_v rate_v at_o the_o say_a taxation_n as_o be_v aforesaid_a shall_v be_v rate_v tax_v and_o set_v and_o the_o sum_n on_o he_o set_v to_o be_v levy_v at_o such_o place_n where_o he_o and_o his_o family_n at_o the_o time_n of_o the_o same_o presentment_n to_o be_v make_v shall_v keep_v his_o house_n or_o dwelling_n or_o where_o he_o than_o shall_v be_v most_o conversant_a abide_v or_o restaunt_a or_o shall_v have_v his_o most_o resort_n &_o shall_v be_v best_o know_v at_o the_o time_n of_o the_o say_a certificate_n to_o be_v make_v and_o no_o where_o else_o and_o that_o no_o commissioner_n for_o this_o subsidy_n shall_v be_v rate_v or_o tax_v for_o his_o good_n or_o land_n but_o in_o the_o shire_n and_o other_o
