8._o second_o before_o and_o above_o all_o thing_n to_o attend_v to_o his_o good_a will_n and_o pleasure_n touch_v the_o event_n thereof_o as_o much_o as_o in_o we_o lie_v and_o as_o much_o as_o possible_o we_o may_v in_o all_o the_o mean_n and_o way_n which_o god_n set_v before_o we_o and_o which_o he_o will_v have_v the_o child_n of_o man_n to_o use_v and_o whereby_o also_o he_o common_o use_v to_o prosper_v their_o action_n and_o to_o bless_v they_o and_o herein_o we_o must_v the_o rather_o be_v special_o careful_a for_o that_o the_o perverse_a child_n of_o man_n who_o by_o nature_n be_v wicked_o bend_v use_v to_o draw_v another_o conclusion_n from_o this_o point_n of_o doctrine_n that_o all_o thing_n do_v in_o such_o manner_n depend_v on_o god_n for_o they_o conclude_v not_o from_o therice_n that_o therefore_o above_o all_o thing_n they_o must_v only_o depend_v upon_o the_o lord_n their_o god_n but_o on_o the_o contrary_a that_o they_o need_v not_o therefore_o refrain_v from_o evil_a do_v but_o that_o they_o may_v still_o follow_v after_o their_o own_o lust_n and_o take_v their_o pleasure_n as_o long_o as_o they_o can_v they_o take_v likewise_o further_o occasion_n thereby_o to_o walk_v most_o careless_o and_o dissolute_o here_o on_o earth_n with_o more_o greediness_n to_o commit_v sin_n and_o wickedness_n and_o desperate_o to_o enter_v into_o all_o kind_n of_o mischief_n reason_v thus_o with_o themselves_o and_o say_v how_o can_v i_o help_v it_o see_v all_o depend_v upon_o god_n my_o resolution_n be_v therefore_o to_o lay_v hold_n on_o the_o time_n and_o to_o take_v my_o pleasure_n while_o i_o may_v whereas_o on_o the_o contrary_a they_o ought_v rather_o to_o learn_v much_o more_o to_o fear_v the_o lord_n and_o call_v to_o mind_n and_o say_v that_o expect_v no_o good_a from_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n this_o conceit_n of_o the_o ungodly_a must_v be_v clean_o banish_v from_o we_o and_o we_o must_v remember_v that_o all_o thing_n depend_v upon_o god_n and_o therefore_o so_o use_v the_o mean_n that_o before_o &_o above_o all_o thing_n we_o seek_v and_o labour_v to_o have_v god_n on_o our_o side_n in_o every_o thing_n that_o we_o do_v we_o must_v also_o fear_v he_o in_o such_o manner_n that_o we_o must_v hold_v and_o esteem_v all_o that_o god_n do_v to_o be_v good_a right_a and_o well_o do_v although_o we_o can_v see_v nor_o perceive_v the_o cause_n or_o the_o reason_n of_o his_o action_n a_o child_n see_v his_o father_n do_v many_o thing_n in_o the_o house_n whereof_o he_o can_v conceive_v the_o reason_n and_o yet_o nevertheless_o occurrent_n to_o depend_v upon_o the_o truth_n and_o when_o they_o prosper_v to_o give_v god_n the_o lord_n the_o honour_n and_o glory_n and_o when_o they_o be_v overthrow_v and_o punish_v to_o ascribe_v the_o fault_n thereof_o to_o themselves_o this_o i_o say_v no_o worldling_n will_v scoff_n at_o as_o they_o unaduised_o do_v if_o they_o have_v learn_v this_o infallible_a truth_n of_o god_n which_o nevertheless_o be_v true_a that_o be_v that_o by_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o several_a chance_n that_o happen_v unto_o the_o child_n of_o man_n we_o must_v measure_v the_o meaning_n and_o nature_n be_v all_o the_o trouble_n and_o miss_v fortune_n which_o god_n people_n and_o his_o church_n endure_v for_o a_o time_n which_o in_o the_o end_n therefore_o shall_v turn_v to_o their_o good_a and_o be_v nothing_o mean_a while_n but_o as_o a_o preparative_n to_o their_o future_a advancement_n and_o therefore_o be_v the_o trouble_n of_o god_n church_n and_o child_n their_o cruel_a persecution_n their_o great_a overthrow_n the_o death_n of_o martyr_n and_o what_o soever_o else_o seem_v most_o of_o all_o to_o cross_v they_o by_o the_o prophet_n term_v in_o a_o special_a manner_n the_o trouble_n of_o joseph_n amos_n 6._o 6._o this_o we_o must_v serious_o think_v upon_o and_o with_o long_a suffering_n and_o patience_n bend_v ourselves_o and_o abide_v and_o in_o all_o our_o gut_n to_o fall_v out_o of_o his_o belly_n as_o he_o sit_v upon_o the_o stool_n to_o ease_v himself_o and_o so_o die_v and_o that_o the_o same_o god_n bring_v a_o righteous_a man_n his_o adversary_n to_o the_o like_a death_n who_o will_v not_o be_v abash_v thereat_o to_o consider_v of_o such_o incomprehensible_a way_n and_o work_n of_o god_n and_o when_o man_n shall_v observe_v and_o weigh_v with_o themselves_o in_o what_o manner_n of_o opposite_a condition_n they_o see_v and_o behold_v both_o the_o godly_a and_o ungodly_a they_o must_v needs_o and_o can_v choose_v but_o acknowledge_v condition_n that_o both_o live_v in_o great_a wealth_n and_o worldly_a happiness_n and_o two_o other_o unrighteous_a man_n that_o be_v unhappy_a and_o endure_v great_a misery_n and_o there_o be_v two_o godly_a man_n of_o one_o calling_n whereof_o the_o one_o prosper_v in_o all_o his_o affair_n the_o other_o be_v cross_v and_o trouble_v there_o be_v two_o ungodly_a man_n of_o one_o condition_n whereof_o the_o one_o be_v cross_v in_o his_o affair_n the_o other_o prosper_v there_o be_v a_o godly_a and_o a_o ungodly_a man_n who_o although_o they_o be_v both_o of_o one_o call_v in_o worldly_a affair_n but_o yet_o differ_v much_o in_o their_o life_n and_o conversation_n touch_v god_n service_n that_o both_o live_v in_o great_a prosperity_n and_o there_o be_v a_o godly_a and_o a_o ungodly_a call_v in_o the_o world_n whereof_o the_o godly_a man_n have_v much_o adversity_n and_o many_o cross_n and_o the_o ungodly_a man_n great_a prosperity_n what_o profoundness_n of_o god_n work_n be_v these_o what_o wonderful_a way_n of_o god_n be_v these_o many_o man_n pass_v these_o thing_n slight_o over_o but_o those_o that_o have_v understanding_n and_o know_v the_o word_n of_o god_n mark_v psal_n 92._o 6._o 7._o esa_n 28._o 23._o 24._o hos_fw-la 14._o psal_n 107._o especial_o see_v it_o fall_v alike_o with_o the_o godly_a and_o ungodly_a man_n in_o all_o their_o worldly_a proceed_n wherein_o oftentimes_o so_o unexpected_a thing_n happen_v and_o fall_v out_o how_o can_v we_o take_v occasion_n thereby_o to_o praise_n and_o glorify_v the_o lord_n or_o to_o humble_v ourselves_o holy_o and_o as_o much_o as_o in_o we_o lie_v to_o seek_v to_o do_v the_o same_o yet_o that_o we_o must_v not_o persuade_v ourselves_o that_o all_o thing_n therefore_o here_o on_o earth_n shall_v god_n deal_v so_o diverse_o with_o one_o ungodly_a man_n in_o respect_n of_o another_o ungodly_a man_n that_o be_v like_a unto_o he_o that_o the_o one_o fare_v clean_o contrary_a to_o the_o other_o as_o for_o example_n give_v the_o one_o ungodly_a man_n much_o wealth_n and_o prosperity_n and_o lay_v much_o adversity_n and_o many_o plague_n upon_o the_o other_o as_o also_o why_o god_n impose_v as_o much_o and_o the_o very_a same_o on_o a_o righteous_a man_n that_o he_o do_v on_o a_o ungodly_a man_n and_o make_v no_o difference_n in_o outward_a show_n between_o they_o therein_o give_v both_o the_o one_o and_o the_o other_o either_o wealth_n or_o poverty_n at_o his_o good_a will_n and_o pleasure_n yet_o we_o may_v by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n find_v out_o and_o know_v why_o god_n do_v so_o unto_o they_o or_o to_o any_o other_o man_n that_o be_v godly_a or_o ungodly_a for_o the_o lord_n our_o god_n that_o be_v a_o wise_a god_n have_v open_v many_o thing_n unto_o we_o in_o his_o word_n can_v to_o deliver_v the_o people_n of_o israel_n from_o that_o danger_n and_o to_o bring_v hammon_n to_o confusion_n what_o course_n do_v she_o take_v she_o invite_v the_o king_n and_o hammon_n with_o he_o to_o be_v her_o guest_n she_o receive_v and_o entertain_v he_o friendly_a and_o hammon_n can_v perceive_v no_o other_o but_o that_o he_o be_v very_o welcome_a to_o the_o queen_n and_o manifest_a for_o how_o can_v any_o man_n else_o know_v and_o understande_v whether_o that_o which_o happen_v in_o the_o world_n agree_v with_o that_o which_o god_n have_v write_v in_o his_o word_n we_o miserable_a poor_a and_o wicked_a child_n of_o man_n that_o many_o time_n be_v so_o curious_a to_o search_v into_o and_o to_o read_v the_o history_n and_o journals_n of_o mortal_a man_n action_n notwithstanding_o the_o same_o book_n so_o high_o both_o in_o general_a and_o particular_a special_o concern_v we_o be_v that_o which_o set_v down_o unto_o we_o the_o state_n of_o our_o everlasting_a salvation_n or_o condemnation_n and_o how_o we_o must_v here_o on_o earth_n behave_v ourselves_o under_o the_o government_n of_o our_o god_n that_o hereafter_o in_o the_o world_n to_o come_v we_o
