god_n to_o put_v they_o out_o of_o all_o fear_n strengthen_v this_o his_o promise_n by_o two_o other_o promise_n which_o shall_v soon_o be_v effectual_o perform_v that_o by_o see_v his_o truth_n in_o the_o one_o they_o may_v learn_v to_o trust_v to_o his_o truth_n in_o the_o other_o these_o promise_n be_v 1._o that_o god_n will_v drive_v out_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o the_o land_n of_o canaan_n and_o give_v they_o a_o dwell_n there_o for_o i_o will_v cast_v out_o the_o nation_n before_o thou_o therefore_o he_o can_v easy_o keep_v out_o their_o enemy_n from_o reentr_v that_o can_v throw_v they_o out_o when_o they_o be_v in_o possession_n 2_o that_o he_o will_v make_v their_o territory_n large_a from_o time_n to_o time_n and_o i_o will_v enlarge_v thy_o coast_n their_o territory_n assign_v they_o shall_v grow_v wide_a not_o narrow_a and_o they_o shall_v gain_v upon_o their_o enemy_n who_o be_v more_o like_a to_o win_v upon_o they_o now_o than_o he_o that_o can_v give_v they_o a_o country_n when_o they_o have_v none_o but_o wander_v in_o the_o wilderness_n without_o house_n or_o home_n he_o that_o can_v enlarge_v their_o border_n when_o at_o the_o first_o they_o be_v but_o little_a according_a as_o experience_n anon_o after_o this_o time_n do_v prove_v to_o be_v most_o true_a he_o also_o can_v preserve_v they_o from_o lose_v any_o thing_n they_o have_v especial_o when_o they_o hazard_v it_o for_o his_o own_o service_n sake_n this_o be_v the_o plain_a resolution_n of_o this_o scripture_n from_o hence_o now_o we_o have_v two_o instruction_n for_o our_o practice_n here_o to_o be_v learn_v the_o first_o be_v doct._n 1_o that_o no_o man_n shall_v be_v a_o loose_a by_o his_o obedience_n to_o god_n the_o inference_n be_v plain_a the_o israelit_n may_v plead_v that_o they_o can_v not_o obey_v this_o commandment_n because_o of_o apparent_a inconvenience_n that_o will_v follow_v thereupon_o god_n remove_v this_o scruple_n by_o promise_v that_o no_o such_o danger_n shall_v happen_v on_o they_o as_o they_o imagine_v if_o they_o will_v obey_v they_o shall_v not_o be_v damage_v by_o it_o now_o forasmuch_o as_o the_o like_a objection_n be_v make_v by_o unbeliever_n against_o every_o part_n of_o god_n service_n to_o the_o end_n to_o shift_v of_o from_o themselves_o a_o necessity_n ●o_o obedience_n and_o also_o because_o god_n deal_v a_o like_a at_o all_o time_n towards_o his_o faithful_a servant_n which_o set_v a_o side_n all_o by-respect_n ready_o obey_v his_o will_n by_o the_o rule_n of_o proportion_n from_o this_o particular_a we_o deduce_v this_o general_n that_o god_n suffer_v not_o man_n to_o sustain_v hurt_v and_o losse●_n in_o regard_n of_o their_o obedient_a performance_n of_o such_o thing_n as_o he_o command_v they_o the_o second_o be_v this_o doct._n 2_o experience_n of_o the_o truth_n in_o some_o of_o god_n promise_n shall_v confirm_v our_o faith_n in_o the_o belief_n of_o other_o the_o deduction_n be_v also_o manifest_a god_n command_v the_o israelite_n to_o believe_v that_o he_o will_v over-rule_v the_o heart_n of_o their_o enemy_n and_o keep_v they_o from_o annoy_v of_o their_o country_n when_o they_o be_v busy_v about_o god_n worship_n why_o because_o he_o will_v cast_v out_o their_o enemy_n because_o he_o will_v enlarge_v the_o bound_n of_o their_o country_n after_o their_o enjoy_n it_o now_o these_o promise_n they_o shall_v see_v manifest_o accomplish_v short_o after_o they_o come_v into_o the_o land_n of_o canaan_n for_o now_o they_o be_v in_o the_o wilderness_n when_o this_o precept_n be_v give_v they_o and_o therefore_o they_o have_v reason_n to_o believe_v that_o god_n will_v be_v as_o good_a as_o his_o word_n in_o this_o promise_n for_o their_o defence_n as_o he_o will_v be_v for_o their_o plantation_n in_o that_o country_n hence_o the_o point_n be_v trial_n in_o one_o thing_n shall_v cause_n trust_v in_o god_n for_o all_o other_o matter_n of_o these_o in_o order_n 1_o that_o none_o shall_v be_v a_o loose_a by_o his_o obedience_n to_o god_n for_o confirmation_n of_o this_o truth_n observe_v these_o reason_n r._n 1_o the_o first_o reason_n be_v draw_v from_o the_o truth_n and_o faithfulness_n of_o god_n in_o as_o many_o promise_n as_o he_o have_v make_v in_o the_o scripture_n set_v forth_o his_o abundant_a reward_n of_o faithful_a obedience_n it_o be_v a_o endless_a thing_n to_o name_n unto_o you_o all_o or_o the_o most_o of_o these_o promise_n i_o shall_v therefore_o only_o direct_v you_o to_o the_o serious_a meditation_n upon_o these_o scripture_n deut._n 28._o psal._n 37_o and_o 128._o wherein_n whatsoever_o be_v good_a for_o the_o soul_n the_o body_n the_o estate_n the_o name_n the_o posterity_n of_o man_n all_o be_v promise_v to_o they_o that_o fear_v god_n and_o obey_v his_o commandment_n in_o all_o which_o god_n be_v faithful_a and_o true_a to_o perform_v what_o he_o promise_v if_o we_o be_v careful_a to_o obey_v r._n 2._o the_o second_o be_v from_o his_o mercy_n and_o bounty_n wherein_o he_o be_v rich_a unto_o all_o and_o above_o all_o to_o such_o as_o fear_v and_o obey_v he_o by_o which_o mean_v god_n provide_v as_o for_o do_v ill_o provide_v for_o the_o advancement_n and_o welfare_n of_o his_o servant_n that_o his_o service_n be_v of_o much_o hazard_n full_a of_o trouble_n molestation_n and_o painfulness_n but_o of_o little_a profit_n and_o comfort_n this_o be_v a_o dishonour_n to_o god_n wherefore_o god_n will_v make_v it_o appear_v that_o he_o command_v not_o over_o we_o for_o our_o hurt_n nor_o make_v use_n of_o our_o service_n without_o a_o bountiful_a reward_n for_o our_o labour_n if_o he_o bid_v we_o do_v any_o thing_n it_o be_v that_o we_o may_v gain_v by_o it_o as_o well_o as_o himself_o his_o glory_n and_o our_o happiness_n go_v both_o together_o nay_o be_v there_o ever_o any_o
