after_o it_o be_v not_o so_o kindle_v as_o they_o be_v in_o other_o that_o think_v the_o prey_n be_v within_o their_o reach_n fain_o man_n will_v be_v famous_a and_o talk_v of_o through_o the_o world_n they_o will_v have_v their_o real_a and_o suppose_a worth_n make_v know_v as_o far_o as_o may_v be_v and_o when_o they_o die_v they_o will_v fain_o have_v their_o name_n survive_v that_o they_o may_v be_v great_a in_o the_o estimation_n of_o posterity_n and_o magnify_v by_o all_o that_o mention_v they_o and_o so_o deep_o be_v man_n possess_v with_o this_o dangerous_a sin_n that_o they_o account_v this_o perpetuate_v fame_n for_o their_o felicity_n and_o there_o be_v nothing_o that_o most_o of_o the_o heathen_n do_v prefer_v before_o it_o but_o when_o they_o seem_v to_o be_v most_o virtuous_a heroical_a and_o patient_a it_o be_v but_o to_o be_v thus_o esteem_v of_o after_o they_o be_v dead_a if_o you_o ask_v i_o how_o far_o a_o survive_a reputation_n may_v be_v regard_v i_o answer_v 1._o so_o far_o as_o the_o interest_n of_o god_n or_o his_o gospel_n church_n or_o cause_n or_o the_o public_a good_a or_o the_o good_a of_o our_o posterity_n be_v concern_v in_o it_o and_o thus_o they_o make_v their_o noble_a conquest_n to_o be_v but_o murder_v of_o the_o vile_a sort_n and_o worse_o than_o any_o cutthroat_n and_o robber_n by_o the_o high_a way_n while_o they_o intend_v they_o but_o for_o themselves_o and_o their_o own_o vainglory_n and_o better_o may_v they_o seek_v honour_n by_o whoredom_n drunkenness_n or_o theft_n which_o be_v far_o small_a sin_n whereas_o if_o their_o war_n have_v be_v undertake_v for_o god_n and_o manage_v according_a to_o his_o will_n they_o have_v make_v they_o true_o honourable_a and_o renown_a and_o from_o this_o odious_a pride_n it_o be_v that_o absaloms_n pillar_n must_v be_v erect_v and_o monument_n must_v be_v build_v to_o perpetuate_v their_o name_n and_o tell_v the_o world_n what_o need_v they_o have_v of_o mean_n to_o keep_v alive_a their_o memory_n and_o how_o destitute_a they_o be_v of_o noble_a mean_n when_o marble_n and_o monument_n must_v be_v the_o great_a preserver_n of_o their_o fame_n yea_o it_o be_v well_o if_o this_o pride_n and_o selfishness_n do_v not_o corrupt_v the_o noble_a of_o their_o work_n and_o turn_v they_o into_o deadly_a sin_n if_o they_o do_v not_o build_v their_o at_o go_n the_o labour_n that_o in_o themselves_o be_v excellent_a and_o a_o blessing_n to_o the_o church_n be_v lose_v to_o he_o that_o be_v the_o author_n of_o they_o if_o self_n be_v the_o end_n and_o pride_n the_o fountain_n and_o exceed_v great_a need_n have_v the_o godly_a man_n to_o watch_v their_o heart_n in_o this_o particular_a for_o they_o be_v very_a deceitsul_n and_o selfishness_n
