a_o teacher_n of_o they_o that_o be_v rude_a and_o to_o be_v a_o instructor_n of_o they_o which_o have_v no_o knowledge_n all_o which_o thing_n though_o god_n have_v show_v they_o unto_o thou_o in_o give_v the_o law_n only_o unto_o thou_o shall_v thou_o therefore_o think_v thyself_o better_a than_o the_o gentile_a no_o very_o work_v but_o the_o law_n which_o god_n have_v give_v thou_o for_o good_a make_v thy_o cause_n and_o matter_n worse_a before_o the_o judgement_n seat_n of_o god_n except_o thou_o direct_a thy_o life_n and_o conversation_n according_a to_o the_o law_n in_o which_o manner_n why_o teach_v thou_o another_o and_o leave_v thyself_o untaught_a 7._o why_o do_v thou_o preach_v that_o theft_n shall_v not_o be_v commit_v and_o yet_o thou_o thyself_o be_v a_o thief_n why_o do_v thou_o command_v other_o to_o forsake_v adultery_n and_o thou_o thyself_o be_v defile_v therewith_o why_o do_v thou_o banish_v idolatry_n in_o another_o and_o be_v thyself_o pollute_v with_o worship_v of_o image_n and_o in_o conclusion_n why_o do_v thou_o glory_n amongst_o man_n in_o that_o thou_o have_v receive_v the_o law_n at_o god_n hand_n and_o in_o transgress_v the_o fame_n do_v dishonour_v god_n for_o in_o that_o thou_o seek_v praise_n and_o honour_n of_o man_n by_o reason_n of_o the_o law_n thou_o be_v become_v a_o vessel_n of_o much_o dishonour_n to_o god_n which_o shall_v by_o thou_o only_o have_v all_o the_o honour_n and_o glory_n and_o although_o no_o man_n iniquity_n can_v in_o deed_n dishonour_n god_n yet_o thou_o do_v as_o much_o as_o in_o thou_o lie_v to_o dishonour_v he_o of_o the_o like_a sort_n of_o man_n 36._o the_o holy_a prophet_n héertofore_o have_v speak_v as_o it_o be_v write_v in_o isaiah_n and_o ezechiel_n the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n say_v they_o be_v slander_v by_o you_o and_o have_v through_o your_o fault_n a_o evil_a report_n among_o the_o nation_n that_o be_v incline_v to_o idolatry_n in_o as_o much_o as_o you_o proud_o glory_n in_o the_o only_a title_n of_o the_o law_n and_o yet_o among_o yourselves_o do_v live_v most_o sinful_o and_o wretched_o against_o the_o law_n neither_o be_v it_o sufficient_a for_o thou_o to_o be_v a_o jew_n bear_v or_o to_o be_v of_o the_o jew_n religion_n for_o than_o shall_v circumcision_n only_o profit_v thou_o so_o far_o forth_o as_o thou_o perform_v the_o thing_n for_o who_o cause_n circumcision_n be_v first_o give_v and_o also_o accomplish_v such_o thing_n in_o thy_o life_n which_o thou_o profess_v in_o thy_o ceremony_n otherwise_o if_o thou_o transgress_v the_o law_n it_o shall_v no_o more_o profit_v thou_o to_o be_v circumcise_a before_o the_o face_n of_o the_o just_a god_n than_o though_o thou_o be_v never_o circumcise_a wherefore_o like_v as_o circumcision_n be_v turn_v to_o uncircumcision_n unless_o thou_o also_o perform_v the_o other_o deed_n of_o the_o law_n which_o appertain_v to_o good_a manner_n and_o upright_o conversation_n even_o so_o uncircumcision_n shall_v not_o hurt_v the_o gentile_a but_o shall_v be_v accept_v for_o circumcision_n if_o be_v leave_v and_o forsake_v the_o ceremony_n of_o the_o law_n and_o perform_v those_o thing_n that_o be_v in_o deed_n the_o whole_a sum_n of_o the_o law_n which_o be_v a_o pure_a and_o a_o clean_a life_n and_o shall_v also_o obey_v christ_n which_o be_v the_o end_n of_o all_o law_n therefore_o thou_o jewe_v the_o gentile_a shall_v be_v make_v equal_a with_o thou_o in_o this_o behalf_n yea_o he_o shall_v be_v prefer_v before_o thou_o and_o be_v better_o take_v than_o thou_o because_o he_o know_v no_o circumcision_n and_o his_o innocence_n and_o clean_a life_n shall_v make_v thine_o iniquity_n more_o damnable_a because_o he_o not_o profess_v the_o law_n do_v yet_o do_v violate_v that_o which_o be_v the_o chief_a of_o the_o law_n god_n which_o judge_v not_o after_o the_o outward_a appearance_n of_o the_o body_n but_o after_o the_o godliness_n of_o the_o spirit_n take_v no_o man_n for_o a_o jew_n except_o he_o perform_v in_o deed_n the_o profession_n of_o a_o jew_n and_o he_o name_v not_o i_o a_o jew_n 8._o that_o have_v the_o manifest_a note_n &_o mark_v of_o the_o jew_n neither_o be_v he_o circumcise_a that_o have_v his_o privy_a skin_n cut_v but_o he_o be_v a_o very_a jew_n that_o be_v right_o a_o jew_n 2._o and_o circumcise_v in_o his_o heart_n which_o god_n only_o behold_v and_o thereafter_o judge_v all_o man_n to_o conclude_v therefore_o he_o be_v circumcise_a which_o rather_o have_v his_o heart_n circumcise_v than_o he_o which_o have_v his_o privy_a member_n circumcise_v which_o also_o do_v not_o rejoice_v in_o the_o mark_n and_o note_n make_v with_o a_o stone_n as_o the_o circumcision_n of_o the_o jew_n be_v but_o rejoice_v in_o the_o spirit_n and_o mind_n of_o the_o law_n for_o he_o that_o have_v only_o his_o flesh_n circumcise_a may_v go_v for_o a_o jew_n amongst_o man_n but_o he_o worthy_o god_n take_v for_o a_o jew_n who_o heart_n be_v purge_v and_o cleanse_v from_o the_o filth_n of_o vice_n and_o sin_n and_o be_v press_v and_o ready_a to_o the_o love_n of_o jesus_n christ_n of_o who_o only_o to_o be_v allow_v be_v the_o most_o high_a and_o chief_a felicity_n the_o three_o chapter_n ¶_o paul_n show_v what_o preferment_n the_o jew_n have_v and_o that_o both_o the_o jew_n and_o gentile_n be_v under_o sin_n and_o be_v only_o justify_v by_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n but_o here_o will_v some_o man_n say_v see_v the_o sum_n of_o the_o law_n depend_v upon_o godliness_n and_o innocence_n of_o life_n and_o upon_o the_o only_a faith_n in_o jesus_n christ_n what_o pre-eminence_n then_o have_v the_o jew_n more_o than_o the_o gentile_a or_o what_o prevail_v it_o the_o jew_n to_o be_v circumcise_v see_v that_o godliness_n and_o faith_n make_v the_o uncircumcised_a as_o good_a with_o god_n as_o the_o circumcise_a â—ea_o and_o that_o also_o more_o be_v see_v the_o circumcision_n of_o a_o jew_n that_o offend_v make_v his_o cause_n worse_o yes_o very_o the_o jew_n have_v great_a pre-eminence_n first_o he_o may_v rejoice_v in_o that_o he_o be_v by_o nature_n call_v a_o jew_n to_o who_o proper_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v commit_v timo._n or_o else_o because_o that_o only_a the_o law_n and_o the_o prophet_n be_v catch_v to_o that_o nation_n either_o for_o this_o cause_n that_o god_n vouchsafe_v to_o be_v their_o instructor_n and_o teacher_n himself_o sure_o it_o be_v a_o honourable_a thing_n to_o be_v of_o that_o nation_n which_o god_n so_o high_o esteem_v and_o further_o the_o jew_n have_v pre-eminence_n because_o the_o same_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o say_a instructor_n goodness_n may_v be_v the_o ready_a to_o the_o true_a faith_n in_o jesus_n christ_n for_o as_o he_o be_v more_o near_o
and_o to_o all_o his_o offspring_n we_o be_v also_o by_o chryst_n take_v out_o of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o darkness_n and_o place_v through_o his_o only_a desert_n in_o the_o clear_a light_n and_o in_o the_o most_o glorious_a kingdom_n of_o our_o eternal_a and_o love_a god_n in_o this_o manner_n pass_v now_o further_o on_o my_o purpose_n the_o gentle_a reader_n shall_v take_v the_o special_a meaning_n of_o the_o holy_a apostle_n in_o his_o epistle_n on_o this_o wise_n which_o be_v that_o all_o true_a christian_a man_n must_v whole_o depend_v upon_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n through_o his_o dear_a son_n jesus_n chryst_n for_o the_o fullness_n of_o their_o eternal_a redemption_n and_o by_o his_o only_a merit_n to_o attain_v their_o eternal_a salvation_n and_o that_o all_o such_o as_o look_v to_o come_v unto_o it_o by_o their_o own_o merit_n deserve_n and_o woorkinge_n be_v in_o that_o point_n like_v unto_o their_o father_n adam_n which_o in_o his_o pride_n and_o disobedience_n go_v about_o to_o come_v to_o the_o majesty_n of_o god_n through_o his_o own_o device_n vain_a byewayes_o and_o very_o fond_a attempt_n at_o what_o time_n he_o most_o unlawful_o yield_v to_o eat_v the_o fruit_n that_o be_v most_o lawful_o of_o god_n forbid_v he_o all_o which_o proud_a attempter_n may_v be_v well_o assure_v to_o abide_v also_o the_o like_a curse_n that_o be_v give_v to_o adam_n but_o not_o a_o blessing_n or_o the_o salvation_n that_o of_o god_n be_v merciful_o promise_v and_o that_o only_a by_o the_o merit_n of_o jesus_n chryst_n unless_o they_o will_v begin_v to_o repent_v of_o their_o pride_n blindness_n and_o disobedience_n and_o only_o refer_v it_o to_o our_o merciful_a god_n himself_o through_o the_o only_a faith_n and_o belief_n due_a from_o they_o to_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n who_o only_o satisfy_v the_o truth_n and_o justice_n of_o god_o in_o this_o point_n which_o say_v unto_o adam_n in_o what_o so_o ever_o hour_n thou_o eat_v of_o the_o fruit_n thou_o shall_v sure_o die_v the_o death_n by_o which_o only_a satisfaction_n of_o chryst_n all_o man_n even_o as_o adam_n be_v reconcile_v again_o unto_o god_n the_o father_n their_o sin_n free_o remit_v and_o come_v bold_o again_o to_o the_o presence_n of_o his_o majesty_n and_o not_o by_o our_o own_o device_n and_o foolish_a invention_n as_o the_o more_o pity_n it_o be_v many_o man_n most_o blind_o do_v that_o bear_v at_o this_o day_n the_o name_n of_o christian_n wherefore_o in_o as_o much_o as_o it_o be_v then_o conclude_v that_o chryst_n be_v the_o very_a perfect_v way_n to_o restore_v man_n again_o to_o his_o perfect_a joy_n and_o felicity_n which_o before_o he_o have_v lose_v it_o be_v think_v of_o god_n almighty_a meet_a and_o necessary_a to_o send_v unto_o he_o a_o law_n before_o the_o come_n of_o the_o saviour_n chryst_n which_o may_v put_v he_o daily_o in_o mind_n of_o his_o fall_n from_o the_o joy_n wherein_o god_n have_v once_o most_o happy_o place_v he_o as_o also_o to_o lay_v plain_a open_a before_o his_o face_n his_o abominable_a pride_n disobedience_n and_o wretched_a live_n for_o which_o cause_n many_o hundred_o year_n after_o the_o fall_n of_o adam_n be_v this_o law_n proclaim_v by_o the_o patriarch_n moses_n write_v and_o set_v forth_o in_o table_n and_o book_n to_o the_o end_n that_o by_o the_o straitness_n thereof_o all_o man_n may_v know_v not_o only_o the_o great_a mercy_n of_o god_n over_o they_o but_o also_o their_o own_o naughty_a nature_n weakness_n blindness_n and_o miserable_a state_n through_o their_o disobedience_n and_o sin_n which_o before_o the_o law_n come_v have_v wellnigh_o forget_v their_o deadly_a fall_n and_o know_v not_o in_o effect_n what_o sin_n be_v they_o be_v so_o wretched_o blind_v in_o the_o vanity_n of_o their_o pride_n and_o false_a imagination_n to_o the_o end_n therefore_o that_o all_o creature_n shall_v know_v their_o own_o case_n and_o imperfection_n their_o damnable_a state_n and_o condition_n the_o law_n be_v proclaim_v which_o beside_o that_o it_o manifest_v unto_o we_o the_o wonderful_a mercy_n of_o god_n towards_o we_o as_o also_o the_o state_n of_o adam_n our_o first_o parent_n and_o the_o filthiness_n of_o all_o our_o sinful_a and_o abominable_a live_n and_o the_o give_v furthermore_o unto_o we_o such_o precept_n and_o commandment_n of_o virtuous_a conversation_n and_o live_n as_o always_o be_v seemly_a for_o godly_a man_n to_o use_v by_o the_o which_o all_o man_n at_o all_o time_n shall_v have_v rectify_v and_o amend_v their_o ungodly_a life_n it_o also_o prescribe_v certain_a ceremony_n which_o man_n daily_o exercise_v among_o themselves_o take_v the_o same_o and_o steadfast_o also_o beléeve_v that_o they_o do_v but_o prefigurate_a the_o death_n of_o the_o same_o chryst_n which_o be_v promise_v to_o die_v the_o death_n in_o the_o behalf_n of_o adam_n and_o his_o whole_a pasteritie_n wherein_o if_o man_n in_o time_n pass_v do_v use_v among_o themselves_o according_a to_o this_o sense_n and_o meaning_n they_o be_v find_v righteous_a before_o god_n not_o for_o do_v the_o ceremony_n but_o only_o for_o their_o belief_n sake_n which_o they_o conceive_v in_o chryst_n to_o come_v who_o only_o the_o ceremony_n do_v but_o bare_o prefigurate_a all_o which_o ceremony_n say_v s._n paul_n shall_v utter_o now_o cease_v and_o stand_v no_o more_o in_o effect_n amongst_o christian_a man_n inasmuch_o as_o now_o the_o very_a truth_n and_o thing_n itself_o be_v already_o come_v and_o shine_v amongst_o we_o which_o they_o before_o only_o prefigure_v and_o even_o thus_o do_v god_n most_o love_o see_v to_o the_o repair_n again_o of_o his_o decay_a creature_n that_o so_o much_o have_v offend_v he_o in_o their_o looseness_n and_o fall_v his_o own_o conscience_n he_o feel_v in_o himself_o the_o prick_n of_o sin_n he_o begin_v then_o to_o be_v trudge_v and_o to_o hide_v himself_o from_o he_o and_o seek_v mean_n to_o cover_v himself_o although_o with_o most_o simple_a and_o very_a slender_a clothing_n which_o he_o then_o according_o but_o little_a trust_v unto_o like_a as_o it_o be_v all_o unprofitable_a that_o man_n of_o his_o own_o brain_n will_v devise_v to_o cloak_v his_o sin_n with_o all_o although_o both_o he_o and_o he_o make_v fly_v never_o so_o fast_o from_o the_o face_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o seek_v mean_n to_o hide_v themselves_o but_o yet_o notwithstanding_o all_o this_o say_a disobedience_n haughty_a and_o proud_a stubbornness_n of_o adam_n which_o after_o he_o have_v most_o wretched_o offend_v choose_v rather_o to_o hide_v himself_o from_o god_n than_o meek_o to_o acknowledge_v his_o fault_n before_o he_o the_o love_a lord_n be_v strike_v so_o full_a of_o compassion_n and_o mercy_n towards_o man_n his_o simple_a naked_a and_o poor_a creature_n that_o he_o quick_o follow_v and_o hasten_v himself_o after_o that_o fugitive_n and_o runagate_n find_v he_o quick_o but_o confer_v most_o mild_o with_o he_o put_v he_o in_o mind_n of_o his_o decay_n great_a misery_n and_o the_o happy_a life_n that_o he_o miserable_o have_v fall_v from_o and_o say_v on_o this_o wise_a to_o he_o adam_n where_o be_v thou_o which_o shall_v signify_v unto_o he_o oh_o adam_n know_v thou_o what_o thou_o have_v do_v have_v thou_o consider_v well_o with_o thyself_o of_o thy_o present_a state_n and_o what_o misery_n thou_o be_v now_o fall_v into_o from_o thine_o innocence_n blissful_a state_n and_o felicity_n by_o contempt_n of_o my_o
itself_o this_o be_v then_o to_o be_v consider_v in_o asmuch_o as_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n be_v mortal_a as_o be_v the_o husband_n to_o the_o wife_n it_o can_v be_v no_o wonder_n to_o the_o true_a christian_n man_n to_o hear_v that_o it_o be_v dead_a which_o so_o long_o as_o it_o be_v alive_a have_v full_a strength_n and_o power_n over_o they_o that_o be_v in_o subjection_n to_o it_o how_o be_v it_o at_o this_o time_n you_o jew_n you_o have_v no_o matter_n to_o do_v with_o the_o law_n in_o as_o much_o as_o it_o be_v now_o dead_a to_o you_o effect_n or_o at_o the_o least_o wise_n you_o dead_a to_o it_o though_o it_o be_v still_o alive_a for_o after_o that_o chryst_n which_o be_v the_o only_a truth_n come_v amongst_o we_o all_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n be_v abrogate_v frustrate_v and_o of_o none_o effect_n as_o touch_v the_o letter_n and_o ceremony_n thereof_o consider_v therefore_o you_o be_v all_o now_o incorporate_a into_o the_o body_n of_o chryst_n and_o marry_v unto_o he_o as_o a_o wife_n unto_o her_o husband_n be_v set_v at_o liberty_n from_o her_o old_a husband_n by_o the_o death_n of_o the_o law_n and_o further_o christ_n see_v your_o husband_n now_o at_o these_o day_n be_v of_o god_n which_o spirit_n we_o have_v receive_v from_o the_o hand_n of_o our_o spouse_n for_o a_o wedding_n ring_n to_o put_v we_o always_o in_o remembrance_n of_o our_o hearty_a duty_n &_o good_a be_v call_v sin_n or_o at_o the_o least_o wise_a join_v patente_a to_o sin_n but_o god_n forbid_v that_o any_o man_n shall_v think_v so_o for_o very_o the_o law_n be_v not_o the_o author_n of_o sin_n he_o but_o the_o herald_n &_o messenger_n of_o sin_n which_o be_v unknown_a to_o we_o before_o the_o law_n be_v proclaim_v at_o which_o time_n every_o man_n follow_v his_o own_o sensuality_n and_o lust_n think_v that_o he_o may_v lawful_o do_v what_o so_o ever_o his_o heart_n corrupt_o desire_v and_o think_v it_o also_o lawful_a to_o desire_v that_o which_o seem_v pleasant_a in_o his_o own_o conceit_n for_o which_o cause_n pardon_v and_o flatter_a myself_o in_o this_o behalf_n i_o think_v it_o none_o offence_n at_o all_o to_o covet_v that_o which_o do_v belong_v to_o another_o man_n 5._o if_o the_o law_n have_v not_o say_v unto_o i_o thou_o shall_v not_o lust_n and_o no_o man_n can_v deny_v but_o that_o the_o law_n be_v declare_v for_o the_o coercion_n and_o restraint_n of_o sin_n because_o the_o nature_n of_o man_n be_v such_o that_o it_o most_o lust_v after_o that_o thing_n which_o be_v most_o forbid_v it_o how_o be_v it_o before_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o law_n come_v many_o of_o our_o sin_n we_o know_v not_o and_o some_o of_o they_o we_o know_v after_o such_o a_o sort_n that_o we_o persuade_v ourselves_o they_o be_v not_o forbid_v we_o through_o which_o reason_n all_o we_o have_v the_o less_o regard_n to_o consider_v what_o be_v lust_n to_o sin_n in_o as_o much_o as_o all_o we_o by_o nature_n set_v small_a store_n by_o such_o thing_n as_o we_o think_v we_o may_v have_v at_o our_o will_n and_o commandment_n wherefore_o after_o the_o law_n have_v once_o set_v forth_o the_o multitude_n of_o sin_n to_o our_o face_n and_o do_v forbid_v they_o to_o we_o then_o we_o be_v the_o more_o greedy_a to_o spot_v and_o defile_v ourselves_o with_o the_o commit_n of_o they_o by_o which_o occasion_n sin_n take_v to_o himself_o strength_n and_o encouragement_n in_o we_o which_o before_o the_o come_n of_o the_o law_n lay_v and_o sleep_v &_o be_v as_o dead_a at_o which_o time_n i_o myself_o when_o i_o know_v not_o the_o law_n i_o lead_v my_o life_n like_o a_o outlaw_n death_n and_o think_v within_o myself_o that_o i_o may_v sin_v without_o the_o commit_n of_o any_o offence_n to_o god_n but_o when_o i_o perceive_v the_o law_n that_o do_v forbid_v i_o to_o sin_n they_o my_o sin_n begin_v to_o wax_v stout_a and_o to_o abound_v in_o i_o and_o to_o take_v the_o bridle_n in_o his_o tooth_n which_o fare_v thus_o foul_a with_o i_o whereas_o before_o i_o think_v i_o live_v i_o become_v in_o my_o own_o conscience_n stark_o dead_a because_o by_o the_o law_n i_o perceive_v my_o deadly_a wound_n and_o yet_o can_v not_o abstain_v from_o sin_v whereby_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o the_o thing_n which_o be_v provide_v i_o of_o god_n for_o my_o health_n be_v make_v to_o i_o a_o occasion_n of_o my_o death_n which_o thing_n be_v not_o through_o any_o injury_n of_o the_o law_n but_o it_o be_v only_o through_o my_o own_o vice_n weakness_n &_o imperfection_n for_o have_v in_o i_o a_o certain_a promptness_n and_o readiness_n to_o sin_n and_o my_o lust_n also_o take_v some_o occasion_n by_o the_o law_n itself_o because_o as_o i_o say_v before_o man_n do_v most_o common_o lust_n after_o that_o which_o be_v forbid_v they_o i_o be_v then_o even_o full_a of_o all_o greediness_n to_o sin_n and_o thus_o the_o devil_n use_v that_o wicked_o which_o of_o itself_o be_v good_a entice_v i_o unto_o sin_n by_o occasion_n of_o the_o law_n and_o by_o substance_n of_o man_n yet_o i_o well_o perceive_v they_o to_o be_v wicked_a and_o abominable_a &_o that_o also_o in_o my_o inward_a man_n i_o hate_v and_o abhor_v they_o here_o will_v one_o then_o ready_a to_o sin_n the_o second_o have_v in_o he_o as_o it_o be_v certain_a seed_n of_o honesty_n be_v more_o appliant_a to_o embrace_v virtue_n and_o according_a to_o his_o possibility_n and_o power_n he_o glad_o shun_v and_o strive_v against_o all_o corrupt_a motion_n and_o the_o filthy_a desire_n of_o sin_n how_o be_v it_o that_o part_n of_o we_o be_v most_o proper_o call_v the_o man_n which_o of_o itself_o be_v most_o pure_a and_o clean_a and_o best_a incline_v therefore_o as_o often_o as_o my_o inward_a man_n consent_v to_o the_o goodness_n of_o the_o law_n be_v stir_v and_o so_o consent_v to_o honesty_n and_o yet_o do_v the_o contrary_a it_o seem_v then_o that_o it_o be_v not_o i_o that_o do_v it_o for_o what_o be_v he_o which_o do_v the_o thing_n that_o he_o hate_v and_o to_o be_v no_o goodness_n at_o al._n for_o although_o i_o desire_v to_o do_v that_o thing_n which_o according_a to_o reason_n and_o knowledge_n be_v honest_a yet_o i_o find_v in_o i_o no_o power_n or_o strength_n to_o work_v that_o which_o i_o most_o glad_o esteem_v and_o commend_v but_o in_o as_o much_o as_o this_o corrupt_a and_o carnal_a concupiscence_n be_v in_o i_o of_o much_o more_o strength_n and_o force_n to_o drive_v i_o to_o offend_v than_o be_v reason_n which_o call_v i_o to_o the_o estimation_n of_o virtue_n i_o be_o forcible_o draw_v from_o the_o good_a use_n thereof_o law_n can_v take_v away_o from_o i_o but_o so_o oft_o as_o i_o yield_v and_o obey_v to_o evil_a than_o the_o law_n open_v and_o lay_v plain_o before_o i_o by_o the_o testimony_n of_o my_o conscience_n the_o just_a judgement_n of_o god_n over_o i_o and_o perpetual_a condemnation_n to_o my_o soul_n the_o good_a nature_n of_o reason_n and_o honesty_n through_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o the_o inward_a man_n draw_v i_o to_o the_o estimation_n of_o love_n and_o virtue_n whereunto_o i_o be_o true_o teach_v by_o the_o law_n but_o i_o find_v also_o a_o other_o law_n in_o the_o member_n of_o my_o outward_a man_n which_o be_v clean_o contrary_a to_o the_o law_n of_o my_o inward_a man_n and_o violent_o stir_v i_o to_o the_o greedy_a embracement_n of_o evil_a therefore_o concupiscence_n christ_n which_o be_v heavenly_a spiritual_a and_o the_o author_n of_o life_n be_v also_o strong_a and_o full_a of_o might_n have_v free_o deliver_v they_o all_o from_o the_o bondage_n and_o law_n of_o sin_n 4._o from_o death_n the_o familiar_a companion_n of_o sin_n and_o the_o just_a reward_n of_o the_o same_o which_o thing_n because_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n be_v carnal_a and_o in_o consideration_n thereof_o very_o weak_a of_o itself_o 7._o god_n do_v foresee_v and_o provide_v for_o the_o salvation_n of_o man_n after_o a_o other_o sort_n and_o fashion_n and_o like_v as_o i_o the_o one_o gross_a and_o carnal_a law_n and_o the_o other_o holy_a and_o spiritual_a the_o first_o of_o these_o two_o law_n have_v moses_n for_o his_o author_n and_o beginner_n which_o as_o it_o be_v not_o perpetual_a even_o so_o it_o be_v not_o of_o virtue_n to_o give_v any_o salvation_n to_o man_n the_o second_o law_n be_v spiritual_a strange_a full_a of_o efficacy_n and_o immortal_a which_o christ_n himself_o have_v consummate_v and_o fulfil_v to_o all_o such_o as_o believe_v in_o he_o howbeit_o it_o be_v very_o expedient_a that_o one_o flesh_n shall_v abolish_v and_o put_v away_o a_o thencefoorthe_o embrace_v the_o second_o part_n of_o the_o law_n which_o be_v heavenly_a and_o spiritual_a and_o that_o minister_v not_o ire_n and_o threaten_n as_o do_v the_o old_a part_n of_o the_o law_n but_o very_o righteousness_n to_o all_o such_o as_o do_v not_o lead_v their_o life_n after_o the_o letter_n and_o ceremony_n of_o the_o jew_n but_o after_o the_o spirit_n and_o inward_a mind_n
