mercy_n concur_v to_o the_o sin_v the_o more_o heinous_a it_o raise_v the_o sin_n for_o mercy_n be_v the_o sweet_a stop_n of_o a_o sin_n the_o more_o mercy_n be_v abuse_v the_o more_o heinous_a the_o sin_n sinner_n and_o the_o kindness_n of_o it_o shall_v smooth_v off_o the_o soul_n from_o offend_v what_o be_v mercy_n but_o that_o unspeakable_a readiness_n in_o god_n to_o forgive_v a_o sinner_n a_o gracious_a willingness_n to_o sit_v down_o with_o wrong_n offer_v if_o yet_o the_o sinner_n will_v come_v in_o and_o the_o abusing_n of_o it_o be_v affront_n to_o the_o high_a love_n but_o now_o glory_n of_o holiness_n nor_o stretch_v the_o mouth_n of_o they_o who_o can_v bless_v themselves_o in_o a_o course_n of_o vileness_n and_o yet_o curse_v and_o accuse_v the_o godly_a for_o particular_a now_o such_o a_o will_n as_o this_o plain_o argue_v dominion_n of_o sin_n where_o the_o will_n what_o it_o be_v and_o can_v do_v that_o it_o be_v and_o will_v do_v for_o sin_n when_o we_o may_v say_v and_o action_n which_o do_v arise_v from_o a_o nature_n and_o will_v imperfect_o renew_v and_o cleanse_v in_o respect_n of_o degree_n but_o of_o the_o single_a and_o corrupt_a and_o so_o complete_a will_n wherein_o the_o consent_n be_v total_a and_o plenary_a now_o the_o plenary_a consent_n of_o the_o will_n consist_v proper_o in_o the_o full_a and_o natural_a and_o long_a inclination_n of_o the_o will_n after_o sin_n when_o the_o will_n embrace_v a_o evil_a set_v the_o heart_n upon_o it_o bend_v after_o it_o and_o that_o without_o any_o resistance_n or_o strive_v so_o that_o it_o be_v the_o embrace_v of_o sin_n with_o a_o unstrive_a consent_n of_o the_o will_n which_o set_v up_o the_o dominion_n quest_n 1._o here_o now_o fall_v in_o a_o subtle_a and_o deep_a enquiry_n whether_o dominion_n whether_o all_o resistance_n impair_v dominion_n and_o no_o resistance_n argue_v it_o all_o resistance_n do_v not_o prejudice_v dominion_n all_o resistance_n impair_v dominion_n and_o no_o resistance_n do_v always_o infallible_o argue_v it_o sol._n i_o answer_v brief_o to_o the_o first_o 1._o that_o all_o resistance_n do_v not_o prejudice_v dominion_n a_o man_n may_v hold_v a_o firm_a league_n with_o sin_n in_o his_o heart_n he_o may_v be_v a_o servant_n to_o it_o though_o sometime_o in_o some_o particular_n he_o may_v skirmish_v and_o quarrel_n there_o be_v therefore_o a_o double_a resistance_n or_o deny_v or_o dispute_v resistance_n a_o twofold_a resistance_n with_o sin_n one_o be_v collateral_a and_o accidental_a which_o do_v not_o arise_v accidental_a collateral_a and_o accidental_a from_o a_o immediate_a contrariety_n of_o nature_n but_o from_o a_o contrariety_n of_o effect_n as_o now_o a_o man_n in_o who_o sin_n have_v dominion_n his_o sinning_n may_v be_v estate_n of_o the_o soul_n be_v such_o that_o no_o contrary_a quality_n stand_v betwixt_o the_o command_n of_o sin_n and_o the_o obedience_n of_o a_o sinner_n it_o be_v easy_a to_o point_v who_o be_v lord_n of_o the_o house_n and_o indeed_o what_o do_v more_o palpable_o demonstrate_v dominion_n than_o a_o quiet_a subjection_n note_n it_o be_v not_o all_o the_o commanding_n of_o sin_n alone_o by_o blindness_n in_o the_o mind_n and_o therefore_o sin_n in_o unconverted_a man_n make_v the_o mighty_a opposition_n against_o the_o word_n and_o the_o mean_n of_o knowledge_n it_o know_v well_o
