but_o that_o whole_a testament_n which_o the_o lord_n there_o promise_v by_o the_o prophet_n be_v confer_v unto_o we_o in_o this_o sacrament_n so_o look_v how_o far_o the_o testament_n extend_v that_o god_n make_v so_o far_o this_o sacrament_n extend_v itself_o the_o testament_n extend_v to_o the_o matter_n of_o our_o justification_n that_o he_o will_v forgive_v our_o iniquity_n and_o to_o the_o matter_n of_o our_o sanctification_n that_o he_o will_v put_v his_o law_n into_o our_o heart_n and_o therefore_o the_o sacrament_n be_v a_o effectual_a pledge_n of_o that_o whole_a testament_n do_v as_o well_o extend_v itself_o to_o the_o matter_n of_o our_o justification_n as_o to_o the_o matter_n of_o our_o sanctification_n in_o both_o which_o consist_v the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n and_o that_o which_o our_o saviour_n say_v luke_n 22.19_o do_v this_o in_o remembrance_n of_o i_o prove_v as_o much_o he_o say_v not_o in_o remembrance_n of_o my_o continuance_n and_o work_n of_o this_o and_o that_o act_n but_o of_o all_o that_o ever_o i_o have_v do_v and_o suffer_v for_o the_o accomplishment_n of_o your_o redemption_n in_o remembrance_n of_o whole_a christ_n as_o a_o man_n will_v say_v and_o whereas_o it_o be_v here_o say_v and_o likewise_o by_o the_o other_o evangelist_n for_o remission_n of_o sin_n this_o prove_v the_o point_n by_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o phrase_n and_o likewise_o by_o the_o matter_n itself_o by_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o phrase_n remission_n of_o sin_n be_v but_o one_o part_n of_o the_o covenant_n part_n be_v put_v for_o the_o whole_a as_o i_o show_v you_o in_o the_o open_n of_o the_o text_n but_o much_o more_o by_o the_o matter_n for_o the_o truth_n be_v this_o that_o god_n never_o remit_v any_o man_n sin_n but_o he_o regenerate_v he_o and_o therefore_o if_o it_o be_v effectual_a for_o the_o one_o it_o be_v also_o effectual_a for_o the_o other_o if_o for_o our_o justification_n than_o also_o for_o our_o sanctification_n last_o of_o all_o when_o it_o be_v say_v by_o our_o saviour_n in_o mather_n mark_v luke_n and_o paul_n that_o it_o be_v the_o testament_n in_o his_o blood_n it_o show_v that_o it_o be_v a_o pledge_n of_o the_o whole_a covenant_n of_o grace_n for_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o our_o justification_n and_o also_o of_o our_o sanctification_n the_o cause_n of_o our_o justification_n rom._n 5.9_o the_o cause_n of_o our_o sanctification_n 1_o pet._n 1.2_o that_o according_a to_o the_o foreknowledge_n of_o god_n the_o father_n through_o sanctification_n of_o the_o spirit_n unto_o obedience_n and_o sprinkle_v of_o the_o blood_n of_o jesus_n christ_n the_o blood_n be_v effectual_a both_o to_o our_o justification_n and_o sanctification_n the_o sacrament_n in_o a_o sacramental_a effectual_a seal_n of_o the_o whole_a work_n and_o covenant_n of_o grace_n the_o reason_n of_o this_o be_v these_o reas_n 1_o the_o first_o be_v draw_v from_o the_o shadow_n of_o the_o law_n for_o concern_v the_o passove_a what_o be_v that_o a_o sign_n to_o the_o people_n of_o israel_n of_o their_o departure_n out_o of_o egypt_n but_o be_v that_o all_o no_o it_o be_v also_o a_o token_n that_o god_n will_v receive_v they_o to_o mercy_n that_o he_o will_v not_o only_o deliver_v they_o out_o of_o aegupt_a but_o will_v also_o bring_v they_o into_o canaan_n the_o principal_a thing_n we_o look_v for_o in_o the_o sacrament_n be_v not_o our_o deliverance_n out_o of_o egypt_n from_o the_o slavery_n and_o bondage_n of_o sin_n but_o that_o he_o will_v carry_v we_o through_o temptation_n against_o our_o corruption_n satan_n oppostion_n the_o enticement_n and_o allurement_n of_o the_o world_n through_o the_o red_a sea_n and_o wilderness_n of_o this_o world_n through_o all_o affliction_n and_o will_v not_o leave_v we_o till_o he_o have_v bring_v we_o to_o our_o heavenly_a canaan_n a_o place_n of_o spiritual_a rest_n and_o happiness_n reas_n 2_o another_o reason_n be_v draw_v from_o the_o nature_n of_o a_o seal_n the_o seal_n must_v extend_v itself_o as_o far_o as_o the_o write_n the_o write_n extend_v itself_o to_o the_o whole_a covenant_n of_o grace_n and_o therefore_o the_o seal_n do_v so_o also_o whether_o the_o sacrament_n be_v a_o seal_n of_o the_o word_n that_o promise_v both_o or_o of_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n his_o blood_n be_v of_o both_o therefore_o the_o sacrament_n be_v of_o both_o reas_n 3_o again_o christ_n be_v give_v unto_o we_o whole_o body_n and_o blood_n both_o for_o there_o be_v our_o acceptation_n of_o god_n love_n towards_o we_o his_o body_n and_o blood_n either_o of_o they_o have_v be_v sufficient_a but_o because_o he_o will_v meet_v with_o our_o dulness_n hardness_n of_o heart_n and_o unbelief_n he_o have_v therefore_o appoint_v both_o of_o they_o that_o if_o any_o shall_v think_v his_o body_n more_o effectual_a than_o this_o blood_n either_o to_o justification_n or_o sanctification_n he_o may_v be_v satisfy_v thus_o the_o whole_a covenant_n of_o grace_n be_v plentiful_o deliver_v and_o seal_v up_o in_o this_o sacrament_n reas_n 4_o four_o look_v whatsoever_o be_v do_v upon_o the_o cross_n the_o same_o be_v represent_v resemble_v and_o tender_v unto_o we_o in_o the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n but_o his_o obedience_n and_o suffering_n upon_o the_o cross_n be_v effectual_a for_o our_o justification_n and_o sanctification_n and_o therefore_o the_o obedience_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n procure_v both_o at_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o the_o same_o be_v tender_v unto_o we_o in_o this_o sacrament_n reas_n 5_o five_o in_o the_o true_a participation_n of_o this_o sacrament_n the_o whole_a work_n of_o faith_n be_v employ_v when_o we_o come_v we_o bring_v not_o a_o piece_n of_o our_o
