24.3_o sure_o at_o the_o command_n of_o the_o lord_n come_v this_o upon_o judah_n for_o the_o sin_n of_o manasseh_n and_o also_o for_o the_o innocent_a blood_n which_o he_o shed_v 2_o sam._n 12.14_o howbeit_o because_o by_o this_o thy_o deed_n thou_o have_v give_v occasion_n to_o the_o enemy_n of_o the_o lord_n to_o blaspheme_v the_o child_n also_o that_o be_v bear_v unto_o thou_o shall_v sure_o to_o acknowledge_v the_o displeasure_n and_o justice_n of_o god_n as_o frequent_o we_o find_v they_o do_v and_o according_a as_o it_o be_v no_o doubt_n their_o duty_n to_o do_v see_v ezra_n 9.13_o 14._o dan._n 9.12_o 13._o neh._n 9.33_o and_o why_o else_o be_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n say_v to_o be_v kindle_v against_o his_o own_o people_n and_o in_o special_a against_o aaron_n the_o saint_n of_o the_o lord_n deut._n 9.26_o in_o stead_n therefore_o of_o say_v that_o the_o suffering_n of_o the_o wicked_a be_v inflict_v by_o god_n wrath_n and_o justice_n but_o of_o the_o godly_a by_o his_o love_n i_o shall_v choose_v to_o say_v that_o the_o suffering_n of_o the_o wicked_a comparative_o with_o the_o suffering_n of_o the_o godly_a do_v proceed_v from_o pure_a wrath_n &_o justice_n but_o the_o suffering_n of_o the_o godly_a from_o wrath_n and_o justice_n mix_v with_o fatherly_a love_n and_o mercy_n i_o say_v comparative_o with_o the_o suffering_n of_o the_o godly_a the_o suffering_n of_o the_o wicked_a do_v proceed_v from_o pure_a wrath_n and_o justice_n for_o if_o we_o compare_v the_o suffering_n of_o the_o wicked_a here_o with_o their_o suffering_n in_o hell_n i_o suppose_v that_o we_o can_v say_v that_o their_o suffering_n here_o do_v so_o pure_o proceed_v from_o god_n justice_n or_o from_o his_o pure_a justice_n in_o such_o sort_n as_o do_v their_o suffering_n in_o hell_n and_o that_o for_o the_o reason_n aforesaid_a viz._n because_o their_o repentance_n and_o amendment_n be_v one_o gracious_a and_o direct_a end_n of_o their_o suffering_n of_o many_o of_o their_o suffering_n at_o least_o in_o this_o life_n and_o because_o what_o i_o have_v here_o deliver_v be_v object_v against_o by_o the_o antinomian_o i_o shall_v endeavour_v to_o clear_v and_o vindicate_v the_o same_o from_o their_o exception_n and_o objection_n as_o follow_v ob._n christ_n have_v full_o satisfy_v god_n justice_n and_o how_o then_o can_v the_o suffering_n of_o the_o saint_n proceed_v from_o his_o justice_n or_o for_o sin_n ans_fw-fr the_o suffering_n of_o the_o saint_n and_o christ_n perfect_a satisfaction_n for_o sin_n be_v not_o incompossible_a but_o may_v very_o well_o stand_v together_o the_o coexistence_n whereof_o that_o it_o may_v the_o better_o appear_v the_o follow_a answer_n be_v to_o i_o considerable_a and_o as_o i_o hope_v will_v prove_v as_o to_o myself_o so_o to_o other_o satisfactory_a 1._o notwithstanding_o the_o suffering_n of_o the_o saint_n be_v from_o god_n justice_n yet_o be_v they_o not_o for_o the_o satisfaction_n of_o his_o justice_n in_o any_o such_o sense_n as_o christ_n suffering_n be_v have_v the_o suffering_n of_o the_o saint_n be_v inflict_v by_o god_n and_o endure_v by_o they_o for_o the_o satisfaction_n of_o divine_a justice_n in_o such_o a_o sense_n the_o objection_n have_v be_v of_o considerable_a force_n not_o otherwise_o now_o i_o say_v the_o suffering_n of_o the_o saint_n be_v not_o either_o inflict_v by_o god_n or_o endure_v by_o the_o saint_n to_o satisfy_v god_n justice_n in_o any_o such_o sense_n as_o wherein_o scripture_n affirm_v christ_n suffering_n to_o be_v alone_o satisfactory_a i._n e._n the_o suffering_n of_o the_o saint_n be_v no_o part_n of_o that_o 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d or_o price_n whereby_o a_o propitiation_n and_o atonement_n be_v make_v for_o sin_n and_o sinner_n and_o let_v it_o be_v note_v that_o herein_o we_o differ_v from_o the_o papist_n who_o do_v make_v the_o suffering_n of_o the_o saint_n in_o such_o a_o sense_n satisfactory_a to_o god_n justice_n as_o whereby_o they_o derogate_v from_o the_o all-sufficient_a satisfaction_n of_o jesus_n christ_n 2._o the_o procurement_n of_o this_o privilege_n viz._n that_o the_o saint_n shall_v not_o at_o all_o suffer_v for_o their_o sin_n in_o this_o world_n be_v not_o a_o thing_n intend_v in_o or_o by_o the_o satisfaction_n of_o christ_n so_o that_o in_o call_v into_o question_n how_o far_o forth_o or_o unto_o what_o intent_n and_o present_a effect_n the_o satisfaction_n of_o christ_n be_v intend_v by_o god_n and_o actual_o to_o avail_v i_o say_v in_o call_v this_o into_o question_n we_o can_v reasonable_o be_v think_v to_o impeach_v the_o perfection_n of_o christ_n satisfaction_n and_o let_v it_o be_v observe_v that_o i_o speak_v concern_v the_o effect_n and_o fruit_n of_o christ_n satisfaction_n according_a to_o the_o intention_n of_o himself_o and_o of_o his_o father_n for_o albeit_o there_o be_v never_o so_o much_o intrinsical_v worth_a or_o value_n imaginable_a in_o the_o suffering_n of_o christ_n i_o exclude_v not_o his_o active_a obedience_n from_o all_o ingrediency_n into_o his_o merit_n i_o conceive_v notwithstanding_o that_o his_o suffering_n do_v not_o satisfy_v by_o a_o natural_a necessity_n but_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o voluntary_a compact_n and_o agreement_n betwixt_o god_n and_o he_o and_o consequent_o that_o he_o satisfy_v for_o no_o other_o intent_n and_o purpose_n than_o be_v agree_v upon_o betwixt_o they_o q._n what_o do_v christ_n by_o his_o satisfaction_n according_a to_o compact_a betwixt_o he_o and_o his_o father_n procure_v and_o purchase_v for_o or_o in_o behalf_n of_o the_o saint_n answ_n 1._o negative_o not_o a_o actual_a present_a immunity_n from_o all_o manner_n of_o suffer_v for_o their_o sin_n or_o that_o they_o shall_v
