of_o justification_n as_o in_o the_o continuance_n of_o regeneration_n reconciliation_n adoption_n regeneration_n which_o be_v common_o call_v sanctification_n as_o continue_v be_v the_o first_o for_o that_o which_o they_o call_v sanctification_n which_o follow_v justification_n be_v the_o continuance_n of_o the_o first_o regeneration_n which_o be_v a_o b●anch_n of_o justification_n and_o a_o remove_n of_o that_o great_a penalty_n of_o loss_n of_o the_o sanctify_a spirit_n and_o the_o woeful_a immediate_a consequent_a thereof_o as_o blindness_n perverseness_n and_o the_o dominion_n of_o sin_n from_o which_o issue_n all_o actual_a transgression_n which_o will_v multiply_v to_o a_o great_a number_n and_o rise_v to_o a_o high_a degree_n of_o malignancy_n if_o god_n by_o restraint_n or_o renovation_n do_v not_o prevent_v both_o to_o understand_v this_o sanctification_n continue_v the_o better_a we_o must_v distinguish_v of_o it_o as_o active_a and_o passive_a as_o active_a its_o a_o act_n of_o god_n sanctify_v we_o passive_a it_o be_v those_o gift_n and_o grace_n of_o the_o spirit_n whereby_o we_o be_v enable_v to_o avoid_v sin_n and_o obey_v god_n for_o though_o this_o be_v a_o active_a power_n yet_o in_o respect_n of_o god_n give_v it_o and_o we_o receive_v it_o it_o may_v be_v call_v passive_a though_o proper_o it_o be_v a_o effect_n of_o god_n the_o cause_n and_o a_o cause_n of_o a_o obedience_n follow_v the_o active_a sanctification_n be_v 1_o the_o act_n of_o the_o spirit_n to_o prepare_v we_o convert_v we_o work_v faith_n in_o we_o and_o by_o faith_n unite_v we_o unto_o christ._n for_o all_o these_o may_v be_v call_v act_n of_o sanctification_n in_o a_o large_a sense_n yet_o in_o scripture_n they_o be_v call_v vocation_n whereby_o god_n through_o the_o power_n of_o the_o spirit_n accompany_v the_o word_n do_v convert_v we_o and_o bring_v we_o to_o christ._n 2_o this_o sanctification_n active_a
