do_v so_o great_o brag_v that_o they_o hold_v the_o faith_n of_o the_o romish_a church_n i_o mean_v to_o prove_v that_o they_o do_v not_o so_o 1._o even_o by_o their_o own_o canon_n harken_v now_o for_o there_o want_v no_o more_o but_o that_o they_o will_v allow_v the_o saint_n to_o be_v partner_n of_o the_o title_n of_o mediator_n &_o the_o masprieste_n to_o be_v partner_n of_o the_o title_n of_o sacrificer_n the_o doer_n of_o good_a work_n of_o supererogation_n to_o be_v partner_n of_o the_o title_n of_o a_o propitiator_n and_o the_o pope_n himself_o to_o be_v partaker_n of_o the_o title_n of_o spiritual_a king_n and_o sovereign_a sheaheard_n and_o then_o by_o and_o by_o there_o will_v be_v a_o peace_n conclude_v determine_v and_o establish_v betwixt_o the_o protestant_n and_o the_o romish_a cacholicks_n but_o the_o protestant_n will_v by_o no_o mean_n nor_o for_o any_o cause_n diminish_v any_o part_n of_o the_o title_n of_o honour_n which_o belong_v unto_o the_o son_n of_o god_n nor_o attribute_v they_o to_o any_o other_o creature_n whereby_o it_o appear_v evident_o that_o man_n do_v they_o great_a wrong_n in_o defame_v their_o doctrine_n to_o the_o king_n as_o though_o his_o permit_v of_o they_o to_o excercise_n the_o same_o be_v a_o mean_a to_o dispossess_v he_o of_o the_o title_n of_o most_o chrystian_n king_n for_o in_o asmuch_o as_o the_o name_n of_o christian_n come_v of_o christ_n out_o of_o doubt_n they_o be_v worthy_a of_o that_o name_n which_o yield_v christ_n his_o due_a honour_n and_o glory_n ¶_o of_o faith_n and_o good_a work_n the_o three_o chapter_n the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o romish_a catholic_n concern_v faith_n and_o good_a work_n differ_v great_o from_o that_o of_o the_o protestant_n for_o the_o catholic_n hold_v opinion_n that_o only_a faith_n without_o good_a work_n do_v not_o justify_v a_o man_n but_o that_o it_o be_v needful_a the_o faith_n be_v aid_v by_o good_a work_n contrariwise_o the_o protestant_n hold_v that_o only_a faith_n do_v justify_v a_o man_n without_o good_a work_n that_o be_v to_o say_v the_o faith_n be_v the_o only_a instrument_n whereby_o jesus_n christ_n who_o be_v the_o true_a and_o efficient_a cause_n of_o our_o justification_n appli_v his_o righteousness_n unto_o we_o and_o make_v we_o to_o be_v account_v just_a before_o god_n his_o father_n through_o his_o own_o merit_n without_o the_o help_n of_o our_o good_a work_n nevertheless_o they_o confess_v that_o good_a work_n be_v acceptable_a unto_o god_n but_o yet_o they_o affirm_v that_o good_a work_n be_v not_o of_o such_o power_n as_o to_o justify_v we_o before_o the_o face_n of_o god_n or_o to_o make_v we_o capable_a either_o in_o part_n or_o in_o all_o of_o everlasting_a life_n and_o they_o say_v also_o that_o they_o be_v not_o all_o good_a work_n which_o the_o catholic_n do_v take_v for_o good_a work_n for_o as_o touch_v the_o first_o point_n you_o must_v consider_v that_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o protestant_n do_v tend_v to_o attribute_v the_o honour_n of_o our_o salvation_n all_o whole_o unto_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n as_o unto_o he_o who_o be_v the_o true_a and_o only_a cause_n thereof_o for_o yea_o and_o he_o give_v we_o both_o of_o they_o free_o and_o for_o nothing_o but_o only_o of_o his_o own_o liberality_n and_o grace_n with_o out_o ask_v or_o receive_v of_o we_o any_o recompense_n for_o the_o same_o and_o true_o if_o we_o will_v go_v about_o to_o recompense_v so_o great_a and_o excellent_a a_o benefit_n as_o be_v everlasting_a life_n through_o our_o good_a work_n it_o be_v as_o much_o as_o if_o a_o man_n will_v purchase_v a_o great_a and_o rich_a inheritance_n with_o a_o small_a sum_n of_o base_a money_n such_o as_o in_o reason_n shall_v rather_o be_v cry_v down_o than_o allow_v for_o our_o good_a work_n of_o themselves_o be_v so_o unpure_a and_o unperfect_a mingle_v with_o hypocrisy_n and_o other_o ill_a affection_n that_o they_o be_v not_o worthy_a to_o be_v present_v before_o the_o face_n of_o god_n who_o do_v not_o esteem_v such_o untoward_a payment_n in_o recompense_n of_o eternal_a life_n notwithstanding_o when_o they_o be_v do_v through_o faith_n he_o do_v accept_v they_o in_o favour_n and_o for_o good_a will_n to_o his_o son_n our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n upon_o who_o only_a desert_n our_o faith_n rest_v because_o in_o that_o respect_n they_o proceed_v from_o the_o good_a tree_n which_o be_v jesus_n christ_n who_o work_v all_o our_o good_a work_n in_o us._n so_o as_o the_o work_n of_o faith_n be_v good_a and_o acceptable_a unto_o god_n for_o that_o they_o proceed_v from_o christ_n as_o from_o the_o efficient_a cause_n which_o work_v they_o in_o we_o but_o they_o be_v full_a of_o uncleanness_n &_o worthy_a to_o be_v reject_v in_o respect_n that_o they_o proceed_v from_o we_o who_o serve_v but_o as_o instrument_n howbeit_o yet_o unclean_a instrument_n to_o do_v they_o and_o therefore_o be_v they_o always_o defile_v &_o spot_v in_o some_o sort_n for_o jesus_n christ_n who_o work_v they_o in_o we_o do_v make_v they_o good_a and_o please_a to_o god_n his_o father_n but_o yet_o they_o do_v gather_v somewhat_o of_o the_o
