those_o gift_n be_v habitual_a or_o actual_a as_o faith_n love_n joy_n hope_v peace_n patience_n and_o the_o like_a these_o be_v style_v by_o the_o name_n of_o grace_n now_o the_o proposition_n that_o we_o deliver_v be_v that_o god_n election_n be_v of_o his_o free_a grace_n my_o meaning_n be_v it_o be_v not_o the_o gift_n of_o grace_n but_o by_o grace_n we_o be_v to_o understand_v the_o free_a grace_n and_o favour_n of_o god_n and_o the_o reach_a and_o extend_v of_o that_o grace_n in_o time_n so_o that_o this_o be_v premise_v the_o point_n be_v to_o be_v thus_o conceive_v that_o god_n eternal_a election_n of_o some_o to_o life_n and_o glory_n in_o heaven_n it_o be_v of_o the_o free_a grace_n and_o favour_n of_o god_n be_v extend_v and_o reach_v out_o to_o his_o choose_a and_o not_o of_o the_o work_n of_o man_n be_v they_o never_o so_o good_a or_o excellent_a though_o they_o be_v the_o work_n of_o grace_n and_o for_o the_o proof_n of_o this_o it_o be_v manifest_a in_o rom._n 11.5_o the_o apostle_n say_v that_o at_o this_o very_a day_n there_o be_v a_o certain_a remnant_n of_o the_o jew_n under_o the_o election_n of_o grace_n then_o he_o subjoin_v in_o the_o six_o verse_n now_o if_o it_o be_v of_o grace_n than_o not_o of_o work_n for_o than_o be_v grace_v no_o grace_n and_o if_o of_o work_n than_o not_o of_o grace_n for_o than_o be_v work_n no_o more_o work_n so_o come_v of_o his_o free_a grace_n and_o not_o of_o the_o work_n of_o man_n lest_o any_o man_n shall_v take_v any_o part_n of_o the_o glory_n to_o himself_o ephes_n 2.9_o no_o not_o of_o the_o best_a justification_n and_o salvation_n these_o two_o be_v at_o odds_o in_o matter_n of_o good_a life_n faith_n and_o good_a work_n must_v be_v but_o not_o in_o matter_n of_o justification_n or_o salvation_n as_o they_o teach_v again_o we_o find_v that_o justification_n and_o salvation_n they_o be_v by_o the_o apostle_n derive_v and_o fetch_v from_o the_o very_a same_o beginning_n and_o cause_n namely_o the_o free_a grace_n and_o eternal_a love_n of_o god_n as_o well_o as_o election_n and_o vocation_n rom._n 8.30_o who_o he_o predestinate_v they_o he_o call_v who_o he_o call_v they_o judgement_n be_v erroneous_a but_o to_o draw_v near_o unto_o ourselves_o thus_o stand_v the_o case_n with_o all_o unregenerate_a person_n and_o such_o as_o be_v in_o their_o natural_a estate_n the_o conscience_n of_o unregenerate_a person_n do_v many_o time_n witness_v much_o good_a in_o respect_n of_o the_o good_a thing_n say_v or_o do_v by_o they_o their_o conscience_n tell_v they_o oh_o they_o have_v much_o good_a and_o great_a comfort_n in_o hear_v the_o word_n especial_o if_o they_o live_v a_o civil_a honest_a life_n and_o be_v free_a from_o gross_a sin_n and_o deal_v just_o and_o true_o with_o man_n their_o conscience_n tell_v they_o that_o they_o be_v in_o a_o marvellous_a good_a case_n and_o you_o can_v drive_v they_o from_o it_o for_o why_o their_o conscience_n tell_v they_o so_o that_o they_o be_v no_o drunkard_n no_o thief_n no_o swearer_n and_o god_n be_v well_o please_v with_o they_o and_o they_o have_v much_o good_a and_o comfort_n by_o the_o testimony_n of_o their_o conscience_n but_o their_o conscience_n do_v witness_v false_o so_o as_o the_o prophet_n say_v a_o deceitful_a heart_n have_v cozen_v they_o esay_n 44._o and_o their_o conscience_n can_v possible_o
