fear_v the_o adversary_n that_o oppose_v themselves_o against_o we_o for_o when_o they_o persecute_v we_o from_o one_o city_n to_o another_o beat_v we_o imprison_v we_o and_o every_o way_n afflict_v then_o such_o principal_a cause_n of_o thanksgiving_n unto_o our_o god_n for_o the_o fellowship_n which_o we_o have_v with_o other_o church_n in_o the_o gospel_n and_o for_o the_o continuance_n of_o that_o seldom_o or_o never_o come_v unto_o the_o hear_n of_o it_o other_o that_z when_o they_o shall_v hear_v it_o turn_v their_o back_n and_o depart_v away_o from_o the_o hear_n of_o it_o other_o that_o hear_v it_o sleep_o or_o cold_o so_o that_o either_o it_o enter_v not_o in_o or_o quick_o after_o be_v choke_v by_o the_o care_n of_o this_o world_n do_v these_o thank_n god_n for_o the_o fellowship_n which_o they_o have_v with_o other_o in_o the_o gospel_n nay_o they_o have_v none_o and_o some_o of_o they_o will_v have_v no_o fellowship_n with_o other_o therein_o and_o therefore_o unless_o at_o length_n they_o take_v hold_v of_o the_o grace_n that_o be_v offer_v they_o they_o shall_v have_v no_o fellowship_n with_o the_o father_n or_o with_o jesus_n christ_n his_o son_n as_o for_o you_o belove_a that_o glad_o embrace_v the_o gospel_n of_o your_o salvation_n hold_v on_o your_o good_a course_n thirst_n after_o it_o as_o the_o hart_n do_v after_o the_o water_n brook_v frequent_a the_o place_n where_o you_o may_v hear_v it_o lay_v it_o up_o in_o your_o heart_n that_o you_o may_v not_o sin_n against_o the_o lord_n and_o let_v your_o mouth_n be_v ever_o fill_v with_o and_o know_v these_o thing_n and_o shall_v we_o not_o pray_v let_v we_o pray_v at_o evening_n and_o at_o morning_n and_o at_o midday_n let_v we_o pray_v and_o that_o instant_o that_o this_o judgement_n may_v never_o fall_v upon_o we_o that_o this_o light_n of_o the_o gospel_n may_v never_o be_v put_v out_o but_o that_o it_o may_v shine_v among_o we_o from_o generation_n to_o generation_n until_o the_o day_n of_o christ_n jesus_n the_o more_o that_o the_o danger_n be_v let_v we_o pray_v the_o more_o fervent_o and_o let_v we_o not_o give_v ourselves_o any_o rest_n but_o still_o pray_v for_o ourselves_o that_o we_o may_v continue_v in_o the_o fellowship_n which_o we_o have_v in_o the_o gospel_n we_o shall_v never_o pray_v but_o always_o in_o our_o prayer_n this_o prayer_n for_o our_o church_n and_o for_o ourselves_o shall_v continual_o be_v remember_v that_o the_o fellowship_n which_o we_o now_o have_v with_o other_o church_n in_o the_o gospel_n may_v for_o ever_o be_v constant_a perseverance_n that_o be_v to_o be_v use_v in_o prayer_n that_o howsoever_o for_o some_o time_n we_o seem_v to_o pray_v and_o be_v not_o hear_v yet_o we_o faint_v not_o nor_o give_v over_o but_o still_o pray_v and_o that_o instant_o now_o as_o we_o be_v to_o pray_v and_o to_o pray_v always_o so_o always_o in_o all_o our_o prayer_n this_o be_v to_o be_v remember_v that_o we_o pray_v that_o the_o lord_n his_o way_n may_v be_v know_v upon_o earth_n and_o his_o save_a health_n among_o all_o nation_n that_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o gospel_n may_v be_v fruitful_a unto_o we_o and_o unto_o the_o whole_a church_n that_o the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n may_v have_v free_a passage_n and_o be_v glorify_v that_o we_o may_v continue_v ground_v and_o establish_v in_o the_o faith_n as_o we_o have_v be_v teach_v in_o jesus_n christ_n that_o we_o and_o our_o whole_a church_n may_v continue_v in_o the_o fellowship_n which_o we_o have_v with_o other_o church_n in_o the_o gospel_n this_o the_o example_n of_o our_o apostle_n teach_v we_o to_o do_v who_o in_o that_o he_o do_v for_o other_o leave_v we_o a_o example_n what_o to_o do_v for_o ourselves_o and_o for_o other_o yea_o but_o be_v not_o the_o lord_n always_o more_o ready_a to_o hear_v than_o we_o be_v to_o pray_v and_o have_v he_o not_o say_v that_o whosoever_o ask_v receive_v that_o he_o that_o seek_v find_v and_o that_o to_o he_o that_o knock_v it_o shall_v be_v open_v or_o if_o it_o be_v so_o what_o need_v it_o always_o in_o all_o our_o prayer_n thus_o to_o pray_v as_o have_v be_v say_v true_a it_o be_v that_o whosoever_o ask_v receive_v and_o that_o the_o lord_n be_v more_o ready_a to_o hear_v and_o to_o grant_v our_o request_n than_o we_o be_v to_o pray_v and_o call_v upon_o his_o name_n for_o common_o my_o brethren_n say_v the_o apostle_n be_v not_o child_n in_o understanding_n but_o as_o concern_v maliciousness_n be_v child_n but_o in_o understanding_n be_v of_o a_o ripe_a age_n the_o apostle_n have_v before_o signify_v his_o own_o mind_n of_o pray_v and_o speak_v in_o strange_a tongue_n without_o understanding_n and_o in_o a_o know_a tongue_n with_o understanding_n therein_o tax_v their_o may_v not_o be_v so_o with_o you_o you_o be_v child_n sometime_o and_o care_v not_o for_o understanding_n and_o you_o be_v child_n sometime_o and_o but_o young_a in_o understanding_n and_o knowledge_n but_o you_o may_v not_o be_v so_o still_o but_o you_o must_v grow_v to_o be_v of_o a_o ripe_a age_n in_o understanding_n you_o must_v increase_v in_o knowledge_n as_o in_o year_n you_o do_v increase_v and_o lest_o they_o shall_v say_v that_o christ_n will_v have_v they_o to_o be_v like_a unto_o little_a child_n he_o prevent_v that_o 3._o mat._n 18_o 3._o and_o tell_v they_o that_o he_o will_v and_o grow_v forward_o more_o and_o more_o in_o knowledge_n even_o from_o knowledge_n to_o knowledge_n to_o the_o like_a purpose_n be_v that_o of_o the_o apostle_n where_o he_o say_v 6.1_o heb._n our_o time_n spend_v in_o the_o school_n of_o christ_n do_v require_v of_o we_o so_o must_v our_o profit_v be_v in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o his_o will_n out_o of_o his_o word_n yea_o look_v into_o our_o own_o practice_n and_o we_o shall_v find_v our_o own_o judgement_n to_o be_v such_o if_o we_o have_v child_n and_o set_v they_o to_o their_o book_n we_o look_v that_o according_a to_o their_o time_n spend_v thereat_o their_o profit_v shall_v be_v and_o that_o they_o shall_v increase_v in_o knowledge_n and_o learning_n as_o they_o grow_v in_o year_n and_o in_o time_n spend_v at_o their_o book_n and_o if_o they_o do_v not_o so_o profit_n we_o take_v they_o from_o the_o school_n and_o set_v they_o to_o some_o other_o thing_n so_o that_o by_o our_o own_o judgement_n so_o many_o of_o we_o as_o be_v teach_v in_o the_o school_n of_o christ_n we_o shall_v increase_v in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o christ_n and_o as_o we_o spend_v more_o and_o more_o time_n in_o the_o school_n of_o christ_n so_o shall_v we_o abound_v more_o and_o more_o in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o christ_n and_o if_o we_o do_v not_o so_o by_o our_o own_o judgement_n we_o be_v to_o be_v exclude_v as_o non_fw-la proficient_o out_o of_o the_o school_n of_o christ_n and_o what_o then_o become_v of_o we_o nothing_o then_o to_o set_v we_o unto_o but_o as_o it_o be_v say_v to_o the_o unprofitable_a servant_n cast_v that_o unprofitable_a servant_n into_o utter_a darkness_n there_o shall_v be_v weep_v and_o gnash_n of_o tooth_n 25.30_o matth._n 25.30_o so_o shall_v it_o be_v say_v to_o such_o non_fw-la your_o modesty_n if_o you_o presume_v not_o to_o read_v the_o scripture_n that_o will_v tell_v you_o it_o be_v enough_o for_o you_o to_o believe_v as_o the_o church_n believe_v though_o you_o know_v not_o how_o to_o give_v account_n of_o your_o faith_n that_o will_v allow_v well_o of_o learn_v nothing_o and_o after_o many_o year_n to_o be_v never_o the_o wise_a in_o a_o word_n that_o will_v the_o soon_o suspect_v you_o of_o heresy_n the_o more_o knowledge_n you_o have_v in_o the_o scripture_n such_o be_v they_o that_o will_v have_v pray_v sing_a reading_z and_o all_o other_o rite_n of_o the_o of_o his_o band_n â—herein_o commend_v himself_o to_o their_o prayer_n a_o good_a lesson_n for_o we_o to_o stir_v we_o up_o unto_o public_a and_o private_a prayer_n both_o for_o ourselves_o and_o for_o other_o see_v they_o be_v so_o powerful_a with_o god_n as_o to_o bring_v his_o blessing_n and_o grace_n both_o upon_o ourselves_o and_o upon_o other_o and_o this_o lesson_n be_v as_o needful_a as_o it_o be_v good_a especial_o in_o this_o our_o day_n wherein_o there_o be_v such_o neglect_n both_o of_o public_a and_o private_a prayer_n unto_o the_o lord_n private_a prayer_n so_o rare_a that_o if_o it_o be_v use_v by_o any_o it_o be_v note_v by_o many_o and_o they_o straight_a way_n censure_v as_o think_v themselves_o more_o holy_a than_o other_o man_n and_o public_a prayer_n so_o little_o regard_v by_o some_o that_o very_o seldom_o they_o be_v present_a with_o the_o congregation_n in_o public_a prayer_n i_o can_v stand_v of_o it_o only_o i_o say_v he_o that_o neglect_v the_o mean_n unto_o grace_n he_o shall_v never_o find_v grace_n second_o hence_o i_o observe_v a_o duty_n of_o the_o church_n in_o public_a prayer_n which_o be_v to_o pray_v for_o the_o afflict_a member_n of_o christ_n jesuâ—_n for_o the_o apostle_n in_o say_v that_o he_o know_v that_o this_o shall_v turn_v to_o his_o salvation_n through_o their_o prayer_n therein_o stir_v they_o to_o pray_v for_o he_o and_o see_v the_o point_n wherein_o the_o church_n be_v to_o commend_v they_o in_o their_o prayer_n unto_o god_n as_o first_o that_o the_o lord_n may_v turn_v their_o affliction_n and_o trouble_n to_o their_o salvation_n second_o that_o he_o will_v help_v they_o by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n in_o every_o needful_a time_n of_o trouble_n three_o that_o they_o may_v so_o stand_v in_o the_o defence_n of_o the_o truth_n of_o christ_n jesus_n that_o in_o nothing_o they_o may_v be_v ashamed_a four_o that_o the_o lord_n will_v strentghen_fw-mi they_o with_o strong_a faith_n and_o hope_n in_o he_o five_o that_o christ_n may_v be_v glorify_v in_o their_o body_n whether_o it_o be_v by_o life_n or_o death_n thus_o the_o church_n shall_v pray_v and_o thus_o the_o afflict_a shall_v desire_v the_o church_n to_o pray_v lecture_n xvi_o philip_n i._o verse_n 19_o and_o by_o the_o help_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n of_o jesus_n christ_n 20._o as_o i_o fervent_o look_v for_o and_o hope_n that_o in_o nothing_o i_o shall_v be_v ashamed_a but_o that_o with_o all_o confidence_n as_o always_o so_o now_o christ_n shall_v be_v magnify_v in_o my_o body_n whether_o it_o be_v by_o life_n or_o by_o death_n one_o thing_n hence_o i_o observe_v which_o be_v that_o not_o for_o our_o prayer_n or_o for_o the_o prayer_n of_o the_o church_n for_o we_o but_o through_o our_o prayer_n and_o through_o the_o prayer_n of_o the_o church_n for_o we_o the_o lord_n give_v his_o grace_n unto_o us._n and_o therefore_o the_o apostle_n say_v 22._o verse_n 22._o i_o know_v that_o this_o shall_v turn_v to_o my_o salvation_n through_o your_o prayer_n not_o for_o your_o prayer_n and_o to_o philemon_n i_o trust_v through_o your_o prayer_n i_o shall_v be_v give_v unto_o you_o neither_o do_v we_o ever_o read_v that_o for_o our_o prayer_n as_o for_o the_o merit_n and_o worth_n of_o they_o any_o grace_n be_v give_v unto_o any_o neither_o do_v i_o build_v this_o note_n upon_o this_o ground_n as_o if_o because_o it_o be_v say_v through_o therefore_o it_o can_v be_v for_o our_o prasyers_n for_o i_o know_v that_o we_o be_v save_v through_o jesus_n christ_n and_o yet_o for_o jesus_n christ_n even_o for_o his_o merit_n sake_n so_o that_o the_o phrase_n bare_o consider_v can_v infer_v the_o note_n but_o hereon_o it_o be_v build_v taht_v it_o be_v so_o say_v through_o that_o neither_o ever_o it_o be_v nor_o can_v be_v say_v that_o for_o our_o prayer_n any_o grace_n 〈◊〉_d give_v unto_o us._n for_o not_o for_o our_o prayer_n sake_n not_o for_o the_o â—erit_n and_o worth_n of_o our_o prayer_n do_v the_o lord_n hear_v we_o and_o â—rant_v we_o our_o request_n but_o for_o the_o promise_n sake_n which_o of_o his_o twne_n free_a grace_n he_o have_v make_v unto_o our_o prayer_n he_o have_v â—assed_v his_o promise_n 21.22_o mat_n 21.22_o that_o whatsoever_o we_o shall_v ask_v in_o prayer_n in_o â—is_n name_n if_o we_o believe_v we_o shall_v receive_v it_o and_o he_o have_v bid_v â—s_n ask_v and_o we_o shall_v entreat_v for_o grace_n through_o our_o prayer_n ask_v and_o have_v first_o ask_v and_o then_o have_v and_o â—he_v better_a beggar_n the_o great_a getter_n for_o it_o be_v not_o with_o the_o lord_n as_o with_o we_o we_o say_v a_o great_a beggar_n will_v have_v a_o good_a â—ay_n saier_n and_o unto_o who_o but_o even_o now_o we_o have_v give_v we_o love_v not_o that_o they_o shall_v by_o and_o by_o come_v again_o and_o beg_v of_o us._n but_o i_o say_v it_o be_v not_o so_o with_o the_o lord_n but_o of_o the_o great_a beggar_n he_o be_v most_o entreat_v and_o the_o often_o we_o come_v a_o beg_n to_o he_o the_o more_o welcome_a we_o be_v unto_o he_o for_o he_o love_v to_o be_v entreat_v and_o be_v entreat_v he_o promise_v to_o give_v and_o so_o through_o our_o prayer_n he_o give_v even_o for_o his_o promise_n sake_n but_o not_o for_o our_o prayer_n sake_n for_o they_o when_o they_o be_v best_a be_v so_o full_a of_o imperfection_n that_o they_o merit_v nothing_o but_o to_o be_v reject_v seldom_n but_o we_o be_v trouble_v with_o wander_a by-thought_n often_o we_o pray_v for_o thing_n and_o against_o thing_n without_o submit_v of_o our_o will_n unto_o the_o lord_n will_v often_o we_o pray_v not_o in_o faith_n towards_o god_n often_o not_o in_o love_n towards_o our_o brethren_n often_o cold_o often_o hypocritical_o and_o when_o not_o so_o but_o that_o our_o prayer_n may_v just_o be_v turn_v into_o sin_n unto_o we_o cause_n therefore_o they_o be_v not_o for_o which_o the_o lord_n bestow_v any_o grace_n upon_o we_o but_o mean_v only_o through_o which_o we_o receive_v grace_n needful_a for_o we_o for_o the_o promise_n sake_n make_v in_o christ_n jesus_n far_o be_v it_o therefore_o from_o we_o to_o stand_v upon_o the_o merit_n of_o our_o prayer_n as_o if_o for_o our_o prayer_n sake_n we_o deserve_v any_o grace_n to_o be_v bestow_v upon_o us._n let_v we_o as_o we_o ought_v pour_v out_o fervent_a prayer_n unto_o the_o lord_n in_o faith_n and_o in_o christ_n his_o name_n and_o assure_v we_o ourselves_o we_o shall_v be_v hear_v but_o withal_o let_v we_o know_v that_o it_o be_v for_o his_o promise_n sake_n make_v unto_o our_o prayer_n and_o for_o our_o prayer_n yet_o through_o our_o prayer_n he_o will_v be_v entreat_v of_o us._n let_v it_o be_v enough_o for_o we_o that_o he_o will_v hear_v we_o and_o let_v this_o most_o of_o all_o glad_a we_o that_o for_o his_o christ_n his_o sake_n and_o for_o his_o promise_n sake_n he_o will_v hear_v us._n and_o let_v this_o suffice_v to_o be_v speak_v touch_v the_o first_o mean_n in_o particular_a that_o through_o our_o prayer_n and_o the_o prayer_n of_o the_o church_n for_o we_o all_o thing_n work_v together_o for_o the_o best_a unto_o so_o many_o of_o we_o aâ—_n love_n god_n and_o be_v in_o and_o be_v glad_a and_o not_o mourn_v simple_o at_o the_o death_n of_o our_o best_a pastor_n and_o teacher_n but_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v glad_a and_o rejoice_v at_o the_o fruit_n which_o come_v to_o the_o church_n by_o their_o death_n if_o they_o suffer_v martyrdom_n for_o the_o confirmation_n of_o the_o brethren_n faith_n for_o see_v their_o constancy_n and_o their_o cheerfulness_n to_o seal_v that_o truth_n with_o their_o blood_n which_o they_o teach_v and_o preach_v this_o shall_v both_o make_v we_o rejoice_v that_o god_n give_v such_o strength_n unto_o his_o saint_n and_o
