it_o be_v ground_v on_o temporary_a cause_n which_o be_v three_o i._o a_o desire_n to_o get_v knowledge_n of_o some_o strange_a point_n of_o religion_n for_o many_o a_o man_n do_v labour_n for_o the_o five_o former_a degree_n of_o temporary_a faith_n only_o because_o he_o desire_v to_o get_v more_o knowledge_n in_o scripture_n than_o other_o man_n have_v the_o second_o cause_n be_v a_o desire_n of_o praise_n among_o man_n which_o be_v of_o that_o force_n that_o it_o will_v make_v a_o man_n put_v on_o a_o show_n of_o all_o the_o grace_n which_o god_n bestow_v on_o all_o his_o child_n though_o otherwise_o he_o want_v they_o and_o to_o go_v very_o far_o in_o religion_n which_o appear_v thus_o some_o can_v very_o bitter_o weep_v for_o the_o sin_n of_o other_o man_n and_o yet_o have_v neither_o sorrow_n nor_o grief_n for_o their_o own_o and_o the_o cause_n hereof_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o pride_n for_o he_o that_o shedde_v tear_n for_o another_o man_n sin_n shall_v much_o more_o weep_v for_o his_o own_o if_o he_o have_v grace_n yet_o thus_o be_v many_o man_n dispose_v even_o of_o pride_n and_o nothing_o else_o again_o a_o man_n for_o his_o own_o sin_n will_v pray_v very_o slack_o and_o dull_o when_o he_o pray_v private_o and_o yet_o when_o he_o be_v in_o the_o company_n of_o other_o will_v pray_v very_o fervent_o and_o earnest_o from_o whence_o be_v this_o difference_n sure_o often_o it_o spring_v from_o the_o pride_n of_o heart_n and_o from_o a_o desire_n of_o praise_n among_o man_n the_o three_o cause_n of_o temporary_a faith_n be_v profit_n commodity_n the_o get_n of_o wealth_n and_o riches_n these_o make_v man_n to_o receive_v religion_n and_o if_o other_o religion_n come_v they_o will_v receive_v it_o aswell_o as_o this_o but_o such_o study_v not_o the_o gospel_n because_o it_o be_v the_o gospel_n but_o because_o it_o bring_v wealth_n peace_n and_o riches_n with_o it_o and_o these_o be_v the_o three_o cause_n of_o temporary_a faith_n the_o three_o kind_n of_o faith_n be_v the_o faith_n of_o miracle_n when_o a_o man_n ground_v himself_o on_o some_o special_a promise_n or_o revelation_n from_o god_n do_v believe_v that_o some_o strange_a &_o extraordinary_a thing_n which_o he_o have_v desire_v or_o foretell_v shall_v come_v to_o pass_v by_o the_o work_n of_o god_n this_o must_v be_v distinguish_v from_o historical_a be_v untrue_a which_o they_o say_v for_o the_o godhead_n must_v not_o be_v sever_v from_o the_o father_n nor_o from_o the_o son_n nor_o from_o the_o holy_a ghost_n for_o the_o father_n be_v god_n or_o the_o whole_a godhead_n so_o also_o be_v the_o son_n and_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o the_o godhead_n likewise_o be_v in_o every_o one_o of_o these_o three_o person_n and_o every_o one_o of_o they_o subsist_v in_o the_o godhead_n and_o the_o godhead_n must_v be_v conceive_v to_o be_v in_o they_o all_o and_o not_o as_o a_o four_o thing_n out_o of_o they_o and_o therefore_o we_o must_v still_o maintain_v that_o these_o 3._o person_n be_v distinguish_v and_o not_o divide_v as_o three_o man_n be_v divide_v in_o be_v and_o substance_n for_o this_o division_n can_v not_o be_v in_o they_o if_o it_o have_v so_o please_v god_n he_o be_v able_a to_o have_v lay_v down_o a_o other_o kind_n of_o way_n of_o man_n redemption_n then_o by_o the_o incarnation_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n christ._n and_o he_o appoint_v no_o other_o way_n because_o he_o will_v not_o thus_o much_o of_o the_o incarnation_n in_o general_n now_o follow_v the_o duty_n which_o arise_v of_o it_o and_o first_o we_o be_v teach_v hereby_o to_o come_v to_o christ_n by_o faith_n and_o with_o all_o our_o heart_n to_o cleave_v unto_o he_o great_a be_v the_o deadness_n and_o sluggishness_n of_o man_n nature_n this_o first_o of_o all_o we_o must_v set_v it_o before_o our_o eye_n as_o a_o look_a glass_n in_o which_o we_o may_v clear_o behold_v the_o horriblenes_n of_o our_o sin_n that_o can_v not_o be_v pardon_v without_o the_o passion_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o the_o unspeakable_a love_n of_o christ_n that_o die_v for_o we_o and_o therefore_o love_v his_o own_o enemy_n more_o than_o his_o own_o self_n and_o last_o our_o endless_a peace_n with_o god_n and_o happiness_n in_o that_o consider_v the_o person_n of_o our_o redeemer_n who_o suffer_v the_o pang_n of_o hell_n we_o may_v after_o a_o sort_n find_v our_o paradise_n even_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o hell_n second_o the_o meditation_n of_o christ_n passion_n serve_v as_o a_o most_o worthy_a mean_n to_o begin_v and_o to_o confirm_v grace_n special_o when_o it_o be_v mingle_v with_o faith_n and_o that_o tâ—o_fw-la way_n for_o first_o it_o serve_v to_o breed_v in_o our_o heart_n a_o godly_a sorrow_n for_o our_o sin_n past_a when_o we_o do_v serious_o with_o ourselves_o consider_v that_o our_o own_o sin_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o all_o the_o pain_n and_o sorrow_n and_o calamity_n which_o he_o suffer_v in_o life_n and_o death_n when_o any_o man_n have_v sin_v under_o the_o law_n he_o bring_v unto_o the_o temple_n or_o tabernacle_n some_o kind_n of_o beast_n for_o a_o offering_n according_a as_o he_o be_v prescribe_v 29._o lay_v his_o hand_n upon_o the_o head_n of_o it_o and_o afterward_o slay_v it_o before_o the_o lord_n now_o by_o the_o ceremony_n of_o lay_v on_o the_o hand_n he_o testify_v that_o he_o for_o his_o part_n have_v deserve_v death_n and_o not_o the_o beast_n and_o that_o it_o be_v slay_v and_o sacrifice_v be_v a_o sign_n unto_o he_o of_o the_o sacrifice_n of_o christ_n offer_v upon_o the_o cross_n receive_v like_o young_a and_o little_a david_n and_o therefore_o if_o we_o desire_v that_o grace_n shall_v prevail_v against_o corruption_n we_o must_v disarm_v the_o strong_a man_n and_o strip_v he_o of_o all_o his_o weapon_n which_o be_v do_v by_o give_v all_o the_o member_n of_o our_o body_n to_o be_v instrument_n of_o the_o service_n of_o god_n in_o righteousness_n and_o holiness_n
