noah_n abraham_n isaac_n jacob_n moses_n david_n daniel_n and_o the_o rest_n there_o be_v communicate_v unto_o they_o a_o spirit_n of_o faith_n and_o a_o light_n suitable_a and_o proportionable_a whereby_o they_o be_v enable_v to_o behold_v christ_n who_o be_v the_o object_n of_o their_o faith_n then_o if_o it_o do_v arise_v from_o the_o spirit_n of_o faith_n within_o they_o &_o the_o light_n of_o christ_n who_o be_v the_o author_n of_o their_o faith_n it_o do_v not_o arise_v from_o the_o declaration_n of_o god_n in_o the_o promise_n without_o so_o that_o the_o mystery_n of_o faith_n scripture_n do_v give_v the_o spirit_n and_o this_o be_v a_o absolute_a contradiction_n as_o may_v be_v note_v so_o j.s._n be_v take_v in_o the_o snare_n contradict_v himself_o in_o one_o quarter_n of_o a_o sheet_n of_o paper_n and_o have_v not_o at_o all_o prove_v we_o to_o be_v self-contradictor_n concern_v any_o of_o these_o thing_n mention_v by_o he_o further_o he_o say_v in_o his_o 8_o the_o head_n that_o our_o possess_n perfection_n and_o quake_v after_o moses_n example_n cross_a shin_n on_o the_o other_o but_o wherein_o he_o do_v not_o show_v neither_o can_v the_o honest-minded_n read_v any_o contradiction_n in_o it_o but_o only_o it_o seem_v j._n s._n have_v set_v himself_o to_o cavel_v further_o he_o say_v we_o contradict_v ourselves_o concern_v quake_a and_o tremble_v from_o this_o confession_n that_o the_o same_o power_n that_o make_v moses_n to_o quake_v and_o tremble_v the_o same_o power_n we_o witness_v but_o wherein_o do_v this_o contradiction_n appear_v in_o these_o word_n let_v honest_a man_n try_v the_o cause_n and_o j._n s._n be_v silent_a and_o whereas_o he_o instance_n j._n p._n stand_v in_o a_o evil_a cause_n and_o of_o i._o p._n he_o may_v be_v silent_a who_o blood_n he_o or_o his_o generation_n fight_v after_o and_o now_o may_v they_o well_o be_v quiet_a of_o he_o their_o will_n be_v stifle_v by_o drink_v his_o blood_n as_o it_o be_v but_o that_o wicked_a man_n must_v add_v to_o their_o own_o wickedness_n till_o it_o be_v fulfil_v that_o they_o may_v receive_v their_o reward_n and_o i._o p._n be_v bold_a as_o be_v the_o child_n of_o god_n and_o though_o j._n s._n will_v clear_v himself_o and_o his_o company_n from_o what_o be_v do_v to_o i._n p._n yet_o by_o the_o effect_n it_o appear_v that_o there_o be_v enough_o envy_n in_o they_o towards_o he_o and_o the_o truth_n and_o though_o his_o body_n be_v in_o the_o ground_n yet_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o lord_n which_o guide_v he_o stand_v alive_a a_o sufficient_a witness_n against_o they_o and_o all_o their_o cruel_a and_o wicked_a deal_n and_o let_v j._n s._n judgement_n be_v what_o it_o will_v neither_o concern_v growth_n of_o grace_n nor_o form_n of_o religion_n nor_o fruit_n of_o the_o spirit_n do_v we_o at_o all_o contradict_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n neither_o do_v he_o prove_v we_o in_o these_o thing_n whereof_o he_o accuse_v we_o in_o strife_n and_o debate_n except_o against_o such_o as_o j.s._n and_o the_o devil_n kingdom_n neither_o in_o emulation_n hatred_n scoff_v or_o any_o of_o these_o thing_n which_o the_o lord_n have_v redeem_v we_o from_o though_o we_o be_v false_o accuse_v in_o these_o thing_n as_o in_o many_o other_o by_o he_o and_o whereas_o he_o will_v prove_v their_o preach_n in_o their_o method_n &_o point_n and_o reason_n and_o use_v from_o the_o example_n of_o the_o saint_n in_o former_a age_n he_o fall_v far_o short_a in_o effect_v his_o extent_n for_o he_o can_v prove_v that_o they_o study_v for_o what_o they_o speak_v nor_o that_o in_o such_o a_o way_n they_o deliver_v what_o they_o say_v a_o hour_n by_o a_o glass_n etc._n etc._n as_o the_o priest_n of_o this_o age_n do_v also_o if_o it_o be_v they_o preach_v in_o the_o like_a manner_n as_o the_o apostle_n do_v yet_o not_o by_o the_o same_o spirit_n but_o by_o the_o spirit_n of_o error_n and_o for_o a_o wrong_a end_n that_o be_v the_o thing_n which_o make_v their_o manner_n abominable_a when_o as_o they_o be_v not_o guide_v with_o the_o same_o spirit_n of_o the_o apostle_n and_o their_o preach_n in_o their_o method_n of_o point_n and_o particular_n be_v rather_o a_o art_n of_o preach_v by_o humane_a policy_n and_o not_o the_o gift_n of_o preach_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n neither_o do_v we_o concern_v humility_n and_o love_n contradict_v ourselves_o but_o be_v in_o humility_n &_o love_n towards_o all_o man_n even_o such_o as_o wrong_v we_o we_o seek_v no_o revenge_n against_o and_o herein_o do_v our_o humility_n and_o love_n appear_v yet_o can_v we_o respect_v any_o man_n person_n with_o hat_n or_o knee_n and_o that_o be_v it_o which_o j._n s._n i_o suppose_v be_v offend_v with_o in_o his_o 13_o the_o head_n concern_v ordinance_n he_o charge_v we_o with_o self-contradiction_n because_o we_o say_v we_o own_o pray_v etc._n etc._n and_o yet_o have_v give_v over_o family_n prayer_n morning_n and_o evening_n and_o at_o meal_n but_o this_o be_v no_o contradiction_n for_o we_o own_o pray_v in_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n burr_n do_v deny_v it_o without_o the_o spirit_n and_o this_o be_v no_o contradiction_n he_o may_v as_o well_o say_v it_o be_v contradiction_n in_o christ_n to_o cry_v against_o the_o prayer_n of_o the_o pharisee_n and_o yet_o to_o teach_v his_o disciple_n to_o pray_v and_o to_o pray_v himself_o this_o be_v the_o same_o cause_n of_o we_o which_o he_o foolish_o charge_v with_o contradiction_n and_o as_o i_o have_v say_v the_o prayer_n of_o the_o wicked_a we_o deny_v and_o yet_o do_v own_o
where_o his_o word_n can_v never_o reach_v they_o to_o take_v away_o their_o peace_n or_o disquiet_v they_o for_o as_o i_o say_v we_o be_v establish_v upon_o a_o sure_a foundation_n and_o be_v try_v and_o prove_v and_o can_v be_v blow_v away_o with_o any_o windy_a doctrine_n of_o man_n which_o beget_v into_o strife_n and_o not_o into_o true_a sincerity_n of_o heart_n but_o woe_n unto_o that_o man_n that_o work_v offence_n and_o do_v cast_v stumbling-block_n in_o the_o way_n of_o the_o simple_a and_o though_o the_o lord_n people_n be_v a_o suffer_a people_n yet_o woe_n unto_o they_o that_o cause_n thom_n to_o suffer_v and_o though_o he_o and_o some_o other_o in_o their_o spirit_n be_v elevate_v think_v thereby_o to_o trample_v upon_o the_o innocent_a by_o that_o occasion_n happen_v concern_v j._n n._n which_o be_v not_o suffer_v of_o the_o lord_n to_o be_v as_o a_o occasion_n to_o destroy_v his_o people_n but_o as_o a_o occasion_n to_o try_v they_o and_o to_o prove_v they_o and_o thereby_o be_v they_o try_v and_o prove_v and_o the_o more_o settle_a rather_o than_o confound_v and_o john_n jackson_n and_o such_o like_a may_v glory_v in_o such_o thing_n for_o a_o moment_n because_o the_o appearance_n of_o it_o seem_v evil_a yet_o the_o lord_n will_v make_v their_o glory_v void_a for_o the_o lord_n have_v way_n enough_o to_o preserve_v his_o people_n and_o this_o we_o
