almost_o a_o unlawful_a thing_n to_o request_v the_o other_o at_o his_o hand_n for_o if_o he_o be_v a_o man_n that_o can_v bear_v somewhat_o with_o the_o untowardness_n of_o other_o he_o take_v the_o uncharitable_o do_v we_o judge_v of_o love_n and_o charity_n as_o if_o he_o love_v a_o man_n who_o be_v not_o provoke_v by_o any_o affection_n boil_v in_o he_o to_o hate_v or_o at_o least_o to_o mislike_v he_o whereas_o in_o very_a deed_n love_n be_v a_o tender_a like_n conceive_v of_o a_o man_n and_o so_o great_o delight_v &_o affect_v of_o he_o that_o it_o make_v he_o both_o marvellous_a apt_a and_o easy_a to_o do_v whatsoever_o may_v pleasure_v he_o and_o also_o very_o hear_v by_o any_o grief_n or_o displeasure_n to_o let_v go_v the_o good_a like_n that_o once_o he_o have_v conceive_v of_o he_o the_o world_n know_v not_o this_o affection_n for_o it_o be_v the_o special_a work_n of_o god_n grace_n it_o need_v no_o long_a speech_n to_o declare_v that_o the_o world_n be_v love_n have_v great_a thing_n in_o it_o that_o it_o mighty_o carry_v the_o affection_n to_o that_o which_o it_o love_v &_o keep_v they_o occupy_v there_o even_o oftentimes_o to_o the_o neglect_n of_o itself_o the_o rareness_n of_o it_o and_o the_o great_a measure_n that_o we_o shall_v see_v ourselves_o come_v short_a thereof_o must_v force_v we_o to_o often_o &_o earnest_a prayer_n to_o god_n upon_o it_o to_o gather_v together_o the_o conjecture_n that_o may_v be_v have_v of_o great_a evil_a to_o be_v in_o it_o hereby_o it_o appear_v that_o love_n be_v far_o from_o suspicion_n of_o evil_a where_o there_o be_v no_o apparent_a token_n thereof_o see_v it_o pass_v with_o such_o speed_n and_o turn_v the_o thought_n so_o soon_o from_o muse_v upon_o and_o examine_v see_v and_o know_v evil_n in_o those_o who_o it_o love_v it_o be_v also_o incident_a unto_o love_n as_o a_o true_a mark_n to_o discern_v it_o by_o not_o to_o rejoice_v in_o iniquity_n but_o to_o rejoice_v in_o the_o truth_n so_o do_v the_o holy_a ghost_n report_n of_o it_o in_o this_o place_n the_o truth_n wherein_o he_o that_o love_v be_v say_v to_o rejoice_v signify_v true_a and_o sincere_a deal_n according_a to_o the_o usual_a speech_n of_o the_o scripture_n which_o may_v also_o be_v understand_v in_o that_o it_o be_v set_v here_o against_o iniquity_n or_o unrighteousness_n as_o be_v contrary_a thereunto_o this_o property_n of_o not_o rejoice_v in_o iniquity_n be_v very_o fit_o join_v unto_o the_o former_a for_o in_o that_o it_o be_v say_v not_o to_o think_v evil_a but_o friendly_a not_o to_o impute_v it_o it_o may_v be_v think_v that_o love_n have_v a_o delight_n in_o the_o evil_a deal_n of_o he_o who_o she_o love_v therefore_o be_v this_o add_v that_o it_o rejoice_v not_o in_o his_o evil_a deal_n love_v shall_v do_v any_o thing_n which_o in_o his_o judgement_n can_v not_o but_o bring_v harm_n or_o hurt_v unto_o he_o and_o when_o any_o such_o thing_n escape_v he_o he_o be_v grieve_v and_o vex_v by_o he_o who_o he_o love_v to_o this_o it_o may_v be_v answer_v that_o he_o according_a to_o the_o blindness_n and_o hardness_n of_o his_o heart_n think_v not_o that_o his_o such_o deal_n will_v any_o way_n turn_v to_o his_o hurt_n or_o discredit_v but_o think_v rather_o that_o it_o will_v work_v his_o credit_n among_o those_o man_n that_o he_o use_v to_o make_v account_n of_o as_o for_o fear_n of_o punishment_n from_o god_o against_o he_o that_o be_v far_o out_o of_o sight_n hereupon_o it_o be_v plain_a that_o perfect_a love_n be_v not_o to_o be_v find_v but_o among_o the_o godly_a for_o all_o other_o through_o blindness_n and_o hardness_n of_o heart_n rejoice_v at_o many_o thing_n do_v by_o those_o who_o they_o love_v which_o be_v not_o sincere_a and_o righteous_a and_o own_o wit_n go_v no_o further_o but_o hold_v themselves_o well_o content_a with_o that_o never_o suspect_v any_o want_n in_o it_o and_o yet_o another_o sort_n shall_v so_o suspect_v their_o own_o wisdom_n and_o the_o device_n of_o their_o own_o head_n and_o see_v such_o want_n in_o it_o that_o let_v it_o alone_o they_o betake_v they_o to_o the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n reveal_v in_o his_o word_n become_v painful_a travailer_n therein_o and_o careful_a framer_n of_o their_o life_n according_o the_o answer_n be_v ready_a that_o christ_n who_o be_v make_v of_o god_n the_o father_n wisdom_n unto_o he_o have_v lay_v claim_n unto_o the_o one_o sort_n and_o take_v possession_n of_o they_o as_o upon_o his_o own_o but_o not_o upon_o the_o other_o this_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o this_o diversity_n and_o none_o other_o thing_n and_o therefore_o the_o apostle_n prove_v that_o the_o testimony_n of_o jesus_n christ_n be_v confirm_v amongst_o the_o corinthian_n because_o they_o abound_v in_o all_o knowledge_n 1.5.6_o and_o here_o by_o the_o way_n it_o be_v manifest_v that_o ignorance_n be_v not_o mother_n but_o stepmother_n unto_o devotion_n and_o true_a christianity_n for_o christ_n and_o another_o sort_n content_v they_o self_n with_o the_o bare_a and_o naked_a simplicity_n of_o god_n word_n in_o the_o worship_v and_o serve_v of_o he_o do_v condemn_v and_o utter_o reject_v all_o those_o invention_n of_o man_n and_o show_n of_o holiness_n and_o humbleness_n of_o mind_n which_o stand_v so_o strong_o upon_o the_o wisdom_n and_o reason_n of_o man_n the_o matter_n be_v plain_a and_o the_o answer_n soon_o make_v christ_n be_v make_v of_o god_o the_o father_n wisdom_n unto_o he_o this_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o his_o servant_n find_v no_o wisdom_n but_o in_o he_o
this_o be_v the_o reason_n why_o it_o seem_v madness_n and_o extreme_a folly_n unto_o his_o servant_n whatsoever_o be_v not_o approve_v by_o his_o word_n have_v it_o never_o so_o strong_a reason_n of_o man_n wit_n to_o uphold_v it_o withal_o it_o be_v not_o their_o wisdom_n they_o can_v see_v no_o wit_n in_o it_o for_o christ_n be_v become_v wisdom_n unto_o they_o and_o they_o have_v learn_v reason_n shall_v mislike_v that_o religion_n which_o have_v nothing_o else_o in_o it_o but_o force_n of_o wit_n and_o strength_n of_o reason_n but_o let_v we_o cease_v to_o marvel_v and_o begin_v to_o magnify_v the_o goodness_n of_o that_o god_n who_o vouchsafe_v to_o become_v wisdom_n unto_o he_o teach_v they_o in_o his_o word_n another_o manner_n of_o wisdom_n then_o that_o which_o be_v teach_v with_o god_n or_o man_n we_o like_v well_o enough_o of_o the_o counsel_n have_v from_o our_o own_o wit_n in_o vain_a be_v this_o boast_n make_v that_o christ_n be_v become_v wisdom_n unto_o we_o for_o he_o pull_v he_o from_o the_o device_n of_o their_o own_o wit_n in_o the_o order_n of_o their_o conversation_n unto_o the_o government_n of_o his_o word_n let_v they_o understand_v and_o feel_v the_o want_n &_o wretchedness_n of_o the_o one_o and_o the_o sufficiency_n and_o blessedness_n of_o the_o other_o christ_n as_o you_o see_v at_o his_o first_o come_n change_v our_o wisdom_n this_o be_v his_o work_n where_o be_v then_o our_o frank_a and_o free_a will_n unto_o that_o which_o be_v good_a when_o it_o be_v manifest_a we_o can_v see_v what_o be_v good_a before_o christ_n lighten_v we_o who_o be_v become_v our_o wisdom_n we_o have_v no_o will_n unto_o any_o thing_n but_o that_o which_o our_o wit_n approve_v and_o our_o judgement_n do_v embrace_v and_o good_a thing_n can_v we_o not_o in_o judgement_n embrace_v and_o like_v before_o christ_n who_o be_v our_o wisdom_n shall_v have_v change_v our_o judgement_n if_o christ_n must_v open_v our_o heart_n and_o change_v our_o mind_n before_o we_o can_v have_v true_a wisdom_n and_o understanding_n of_o good_a thing_n which_o we_o must_v approve_v in_o judgement_n before_o we_o have_v a_o desire_n and_o will_n unto_o they_o in_o our_o affection_n it_o follow_v necessary_o that_o not_o from_o ourselves_o but_o from_o christ_n come_v all_o the_o free_a will_n which_o we_o have_v unto_o that_o which_o be_v in_o deed_n good_a for_o we_o have_v no_o will_n unto_o any_o thing_n but_o that_o which_o we_o approve_v and_o like_v in_o our_o judgement_n we_o can_v approve_v and_o like_v in_o our_o judgement_n no_o good_a thing_n before_o our_o judgement_n be_v good_a good_a judgement_n &_o wisdom_n we_o have_v not_o of_o ourselves_o but_o be_v teach_v it_o of_o christ_n and_o have_v it_o with_o he_o who_o be_v make_v our_o law_n can_v reprove_v nor_o just_o charge_v with_o any_o want_n this_o be_v perform_v to_o we_o in_o christ_n who_o have_v satisfy_v in_o his_o suffering_n for_o our_o sin_n and_o wrought_v our_o full_a discharge_n and_o also_o perfect_o keep_v the_o whole_a law_n and_o every_o commandment_n thereof_o in_o the_o behalf_n of_o we_o that_o be_v he_o for_o he_o be_v god_n and_o therefore_o above_o the_o law_n as_o lord_n and_o giver_n thereof_o need_v not_o to_o have_v become_v a_o subject_n thereunto_o for_o himself_o whereby_o it_o appear_v plain_o that_o he_o go_v under_o that_o work_n of_o christ_n in_o they_o to_o assure_v they_o to_o be_v accept_v for_o the_o righteousness_n of_o a_o other_o and_o to_o give_v over_o all_o the_o hold_n that_o they_o have_v by_o the_o reason_n of_o any_o thing_n that_o they_o shall_v have_v do_v themselves_o our_o natural_a wit_n and_o reason_n can_v not_o allow_v of_o that_o it_o be_v apparent_a therefore_o that_o we_o have_v a_o other_o schoolmaster_n that_o do_v teach_v we_o this_o doctrine_n can_v one_o man_n for_o his_o good_a work_n that_o he_o have_v do_v stand_v so_o strong_o assure_v in_o his_o opinion_n of_o salvation_n and_o to_o be_v accept_v for_o they_o that_o he_o shall_v offer_v his_o overplus_n to_o help_v other_o withal_o and_o a_o other_o man_n that_o be_v not_o inferior_a unto_o this_o other_o neither_o in_o wit_n reason_n nor_o good_a deed_n so_o give_v over_o all_o the_o hope_n of_o they_o that_o in_o flat_a denial_n and_o utter_v renounce_v thereof_o he_o shall_v lay_v claim_n only_o
