true_o and_o thorough_o humble_v and_o so_o of_o demas_n and_o many_o civil_a worldling_n and_o temporary_n who_o in_o many_o thing_n change_v their_o course_n from_o evil_a to_o good_a but_o have_v no_o change_n of_o their_o heart_n ground_v upon_o unfeigned_a contrition_n and_o humiliation_n but_o what_o be_v this_o but_o to_o build_v without_o a_o foundation_n and_o to_o dismember_v and_o to_o thy_o carnal_a taste_n yet_o thou_o shall_v find_v it_o wholesome_a though_o not_o so_o toothsome_a if_o not_o delightful_a meat_n yet_o at_o least_o profitable_a physic_n which_o by_o purge_v away_o the_o corrupt_a humour_n of_o sin_n will_v help_v to_o preserve_v thy_o spiritual_a health_n and_o life_n yea_o in_o truth_n my_o soul_n thou_o shall_v upon_o good_a experience_n find_v this_o repentance_n not_o only_o good_a and_o profitable_a but_o also_o sweet_a and_o comfortable_a cause_v thou_o to_o possess_v and_o enjoy_v thyself_o with_o much_o peace_n and_o patience_n §._o sect._n 2_o motive_n to_o repent_v take_v from_o the_o author_n and_o efficient_a cause_n of_o this_o grace_n for_o who_o be_v the_o author_n of_o it_o but_o god_n himself_o who_o with_o his_o sweetness_n pleasant_a turn_v our_o mourning_n into_o rejoice_v and_o raise_v out_o of_o the_o subject_n of_o sorrow_n matter_n of_o joy_n it_o be_v a_o cup_n of_o god_n temper_v and_o therefore_o refuse_v not_o to_o drink_v it_o it_o it_o must_v needs_o be_v good_a come_v from_o he_o who_o be_v the_o chief_a goodness_n be_v author_n of_o all_o good_a it_o be_v god_n gift_n o_o my_o soul_n and_o not_o natural_a act_n in_o thy_o own_o power_n and_o therefore_o when_o thou_o want_v it_o sue_v unto_o he_o that_o give_v liberal_o to_o all_o that_o ask_v of_o he_o &_o when_o thou_o have_v it_o ascribe_v nothing_o to_o thyself_o but_o let_v he_o have_v the_o glory_n of_o his_o own_o gift_n it_o be_v his_o gift_n and_o not_o in_o thy_o own_o power_n take_v it_o then_o thankful_o at_o his_o hand_n whilst_o in_o his_o acceptable_a time_n he_o offer_v it_o lest_o pull_v it_o back_o for_o thy_o ungrateful_a neglect_n thou_o seek_v it_o too_o late_a and_o never_o find_v it_o it_o be_v a_o gift_n of_o the_o spirit_n which_o like_o the_o wind_n blow_v when_o and_o where_o it_o list_v and_o not_o at_o thy_o appointment_n spread_v thy_o sail_n my_o soul_n while_o this_o gale_n last_v and_o open_v the_o door_n of_o thy_o hart_n while_o the_o spirit_n knock_v it_o be_v the_o gift_n of_o grace_n and_o not_o of_o merit_n towards_o which_o thou_o have_v bring_v nothing_o as_o the_o cause_n but_o thy_o sin_n only_o as_o the_o occasion_n and_o therefore_o as_o it_o be_v give_v free_o so_o free_o take_v it_o it_o be_v the_o grace_n of_o god_n which_o like_o the_o sun_n with_o kindly_a heat_n do_v with_o the_o beam_n of_o his_o favour_n dissolve_v the_o cloud_n of_o grief_n and_o cause_v they_o to_o distil_v in_o repentant_a tear_n and_o not_o the_o strong_a and_o cold_a wind_n of_o his_o rigorous_a justice_n and_o terrible_a threat_n which_o either_o blow_v they_o quite_o away_o or_o congeal_v they_o unto_o a_o icy_a hardness_n make_v thy_o tear_n while_o they_o be_v drop_v like_a hailstone_n which_o will_v destroy_v thy_o fruit_n of_o obedience_n rather_o than_o cause_v they_o to_o grow_v and_o multiply_v it_o be_v not_o a_o common_a but_o a_o save_a grace_n see_v to_o whosoever_o god_n give_v it_o he_o give_v they_o also_o salvation_n with_o it_o and_o therefore_o my_o soul_n if_o thou_o will_v have_v the_o one_o refuse_v not_o the_o other_o for_o these_o gift_n mixture_n of_o thy_o hypocrisy_n he_o look_v not_o to_o receive_v much_o where_o he_o give_v but_o little_a nor_o will_v reject_v any_o of_o his_o own_o grace_n as_o small_a and_o worthless_a see_v though_o they_o be_v but_o of_o small_a value_n as_o they_o be_v thou_o yet_o from_o the_o author_n and_o giver_n they_o have_v sufficient_a worth_n and_o excellency_n for_o which_o he_o will_v accept_v they_o it_o be_v a_o gift_n which_o thy_o god_n have_v free_o give_v thou_o but_o by_o and_o for_o his_o son_n thy_o saviour_n it_o come_v to_o thou_o of_o free_a grace_n from_o god_n by_o christ_n but_o to_o he_o by_o purchase_n thou_o have_v it_o for_o nothing_o save_o grateful_a acceptance_n but_o thy_o saviour_n buy_v it_o at_o a_o dear_a rate_n even_o with_o the_o inestimable_a price_n of_o his_o precious_a blood_n nothing_o else_o can_v procure_v thy_o pardon_n without_o which_o there_o be_v no_o place_n to_o repentance_n for_o never_o will_v thou_o have_v return_v to_o god_n who_o thou_o have_v incense_v to_o wrath_n by_o thy_o sin_n have_v not_o christ_n by_o that_o propitiatory_a sacrifice_n reconcile_v thou_o and_o wrought_v thy_o peace_n beside_o so_o be_v thy_o rebellious_a heart_n harden_v through_o the_o deceitfulness_n of_o sin_n unto_o more_o than_o a_o adamantine_a hardness_n that_o nothing_o but_o the_o blood_n of_o the_o slay_a goat_n or_o innocent_a lamb_n can_v mollify_v and_o soften_v it_o that_o it_o may_v be_v fit_a to_o receive_v the_o impression_n of_o this_o save_a grace_n and_o to_o melt_v and_o resolve_v in_o repentant_a tear_n and_o therefore_o see_v thy_o saviour_n have_v buy_v it_o at_o so_o dear_a a_o purchase_n do_v not_o now_o ungrateful_o refuse_v it_o when_o he_o so_o gracious_o offer_v it_o unto_o thou_o of_o free_a
