his_o statute_n and_o to_o do_v they_o and_o not_o know_v that_o we_o be_v not_o of_o ourselves_o sufficient_a to_o think_v any_o thing_n and_o not_o know_v that_o supernatural_a power_n must_v be_v the_o foundation_n and_o cause_n of_o all_o supernatural_a work_n and_o not_o know_v that_o god_n just_o may_v and_o often_o time_n do_v deny_v his_o grace_n and_o help_v to_o they_o who_o have_v refuse_v it_o and_o do_v leave_v the_o refuse_v sinner_n forever_o to_o his_o own_o lust_n and_o way_n sect_n ii_o 2_o use_n do_v the_o lord_n god_n himself_o undertake_v to_o cause_v his_o people_n to_o walk_v selfconfidence_n take_v heed_n of_o selfconfidence_n in_o his_o statute_n and_o to_o do_v they_o this_o may_v serve_v for_o caution_n unto_o all_o the_o people_n of_o god_n especial_o unto_o strong_a christian_n that_o they_o take_v heed_n of_o all_o selfconfidence_n beware_v of_o all_o selfconfidence_n when_o you_o be_v to_o do_v any_o duty_n or_o any_o work_n which_o the_o lord_n require_v from_o you_o see_v that_o you_o do_v not_o attempt_v it_o or_o set_v upon_o it_o in_o the_o power_n of_o self_n there_o be_v many_o sort_n of_o a_o man_n self_n there_o be_v 1._o his_o natural_a self_n the_o strength_n of_o natural_a knowledge_n and_o judgement_n and_o will_v be_v how_o many_o sort_n of_o self_n there_o be_v and_o resolution_n 2._o his_o learned_a self_n the_o strength_n of_o acquire_v part_n and_o ability_n of_o understanding_n of_o wisdom_n of_o tongue_n of_o utterance_n and_o of_o other_o gift_n 3._o his_o gracious_a self_n the_o strength_n of_o a_o renew_a mind_n and_o of_o a_o renew_a will_n and_o of_o renew_a affection_n now_o hear_v my_o advice_n when_o you_o be_v to_o do_v any_o work_n for_o god_n beware_v that_o you_o rest_v not_o on_o any_o of_o these_o self_n strength_n jer._n 9_o 23._o let_v not_o the_o wise_a man_n glory_n in_o his_o wisdom_n neither_o let_v the_o mighty_a man_n glory_n in_o his_o might_n neither_o let_v the_o rich_a man_n glory_n in_o his_o riches_n so_o say_v i_o let_v not_o the_o prudent_a christian_a rest_n on_o his_o wisdom_n and_o let_v not_o the_o know_a christian_a rest_n upon_o his_o part_n and_o let_v not_o the_o renew_a christian_a rest_n upon_o his_o grace_n and_o let_v not_o the_o forward_a christian_a rest_n on_o his_o resolution_n and_o let_v not_o the_o experience_a christian_a rest_n on_o his_o comfort_n as_o if_o those_o be_v able_a and_o enough_o to_o furnish_v and_o enable_v he_o to_o do_v the_o work_n or_o work_n which_o god_n require_v of_o he_o there_o be_v three_o reason_n why_o i_o will_v serious_o press_v this_o caution_n upon_o you_o that_o fear_v god_n first_o the_o exceed_a aptness_n and_o propension_n in_o the_o best_a to_o be_v and_o to_o do_v something_o self_n of_o self_n be_v appear_v in_o repentance_n man_n will_v not_o forsake_v their_o own_o strength_n in_o the_o work_n of_o faith_n man_n will_v undertake_v to_o believe_v by_o their_o own_o strength_n in_o the_o work_n of_o justification_n man_n be_v apt_a to_o look_v upon_o their_o own_o righteousness_n in_o active_a duty_n man_n be_v many_o time_n of_o their_o mind_n in_o jeremiah_n the_o lord_n be_v a_o faithful_a witness_n between_o we_o if_o we_o do_v not_o according_a to_o all_o thing_n which_o the_o lord_n thy_o god_n shall_v send_v thou_o to_o we_o jer._n 42._o 5._o and_o in_o passive_a a_o kind_n of_o atheism_n the_o creature_n which_o will_v be_v a_o selfsufficiency_n unto_o itself_o deny_v god_n in_o his_o alsufficiency_n it_o be_v proper_a to_o god_n as_o god_n to_o be_v a_o be_v of_o himself_o and_o to_o give_v be_v unto_o all_o beside_o himself_o to_o be_v independ_v on_o any_o for_o be_v and_o work_v 3._o at_o least_o you_o take_v the_o work_n of_o god_n out_o of_o the_o
