be_v nothing_o contrary_a the_o one_o to_o the_o other_o and_o both_o may_v have_v be_v in_o the_o right_n have_v i_o say_v that_o they_o never_o pursue_v their_o prey_n when_o it_o be_v too_o far_o off_o and_o that_o the_o distance_n be_v the_o only_a cause_n they_o cease_v to_o pursue_v it_o he_o will_v have_v reason_n to_o object_n against_o i_o that_o distraction_n often_o be_v the_o cause_n often_o also_o the_o only_a knowledge_n of_o the_o distance_n be_v cause_n of_o their_o forbearance_n and_o m.c._n have_v produce_v no_o proof_n to_o the_o contrary_a i_o see_v nothing_o that_o diminish_v the_o strength_n of_o i_o nor_o which_o oblige_v i_o to_o change_v my_o opinion_n in_o effect_n why_o shall_v not_o the_o distance_n hinder_v a_o dog_n from_o pursue_v his_o prey_n since_o he_o well_o know_v the_o height_n of_o a_o precipice_n and_o that_o that_o only_a knowledge_n be_v able_a to_o retain_v and_o hinder_v he_o from_o throw_v himself_o down_o it_o i_o see_v no_o that_o of_o the_o understanding_n extend_v itself_o to_o all_o thing_n whatsoever_o second_o in_o that_o the_o imagination_n form_v no_o universal_a notion_n and_o consequent_o can_v make_v no_o ratiocination_n but_o particular_a one_o instead_o that_o the_o understanding_n have_v the_o liberty_n to_o form_v general_a notion_n of_o all_o thing_n and_o to_o draw_v from_o thence_o universal_a or_o particular_a consequence_n at_o its_o pleasure_n whence_o we_o conclude_v that_o the_o imagination_n be_v not_o only_o inferior_a to_o the_o understanding_n in_o the_o manner_n of_o operate_a but_o also_o in_o the_o order_n of_o nature_n and_o essence_n for_o the_o power_n which_o judge_v of_o all_o thing_n and_o which_o make_v universal_a notion_n can_v be_v tie_v to_o the_o matter_n and_o aught_o to_o be_v spiritual_a forasmuch_o as_o the_o matter_n determine_v and_o can_v admit_v of_o universality_n that_o so_o the_o understanding_n reason_v universal_o aught_o to_o be_v in_o the_o order_n of_o spiritual_a thing_n whereto_o the_o imagination_n can_v pretend_v be_v reduce_v to_o particular_a discourse_n whence_o it_o follow_v that_o speak_v general_o reason_n be_v not_o the_o specific_a difference_n of_o man_n but_o such_o a_o species_n of_o reason_n to_o wit_n universal_a reason_n and_o because_o its_o the_o most_o noble_a and_o the_o most_o perfect_a of_o all_o it_o retain_v the_o name_n of_o the_o whole_a gender_n according_a to_o the_o example_n of_o several_a other_o species_n and_o have_v part_n with_o this_o privilege_n in_o the_o definition_n of_o man_n yet_o it_o be_v not_o therefore_o that_o this_o word_n reason_n although_o it_o shall_v signify_v the_o faculty_n or_o action_n of_o reason_v precise_o make_v the_o essential_a difference_n of_o man_n because_o both_o the_o one_o and_o the_o other_o be_v pure_a accident_n and_o that_o the_o difference_n of_o man_n ought_v to_o be_v a_o substance_n but_o as_o in_o the_o ignorance_n wherein_o we_o be_v of_o the_o last_o difference_n of_o thing_n we_o make_v use_v of_o propriety_n and_o power_n which_o be_v near_a their_o essence_n to_o design_n their_o nature_n philosophy_n which_o herein_o be_v no_o less_o enlighten_v than_o elsewhere_o have_v employ_v the_o faculty_n of_o reason_v to_o mark_v the_o essential_a difference_n of_o man._n but_o to_o follow_v his_o design_n and_o small_a portion_n of_o ratiocination_n which_o god_n and_o nature_n have_v give_v they_o first_o he_o approve_v not_o that_o the_o imagination_n be_v different_a from_o the_o understanding_n in_o that_o its_o knowledge_n be_v restrain_v to_o corporal_a thing_n which_o be_v necessary_a to_o life_n and_o proper_a to_o the_o nature_n of_o every_o species_n instead_o that_o that_o of_o the_o understanding_n extend_v to_o all_o thing_n whatsoever_o for_o although_o at_o first_o he_o say_v that_o he_o will_v not_o contest_v thereupon_o if_o i_o will_v not_o make_v these_o knowledge_n pass_v good_a or_o at_o least_o that_o all_o the_o sweet_a thing_n it_o know_v be_v good_a and_o when_o a_o sheep_n shall_v see_v divers_a wolf_n together_o will_v it_o not_o judge_v that_o all_o the_o
