see_v the_o sensible_a effect_n yet_o their_o cause_n be_v unknown_a and_o we_o perceive_v not_o the_o way_n and_o manner_n how_o they_o be_v produce_v we_o see_v animal_n be_v generate_v nourish_v and_o move_v the_o loadstone_n draw_v iron_n etc._n etc._n but_o the_o cause_n that_o operate_v and_o the_o manner_n they_o be_v produce_v in_o we_o can_v only_o guess_v and_o probable_o conjecture_v in_o these_o matter_n analogy_n be_v the_o only_a help_n we_o have_v and_o it_o be_v from_o that_o alone_o we_o draw_v all_o our_o ground_n of_o probability_n thus_o observe_v that_o the_o bare_a body_n themselves_o which_o we_o call_v so_o thus_o we_o see_v that_o fire_n at_o one_o distance_n produce_v in_o we_o the_o sensation_n of_o warmth_n which_o at_o a_o near_a approach_n cause_v the_o sensation_n of_o pain_n now_o what_o reason_n have_v we_o to_o say_v that_o the_o idea_n of_o warmth_n be_v actual_o in_o the_o fire_n but_o that_o of_o pain_n not_o in_o the_o fire_n which_o the_o same_o fire_n produce_v in_o we_o the_o same_o way_n the_o bulk_n number_n figure_n and_o motion_n of_o the_o part_n of_o fire_n be_v real_o in_o it_o whether_o we_o perceive_v they_o or_o no_o and_o
