what_o condition_n they_o shall_v be_v capable_a of_o his_o favour_n and_o continue_v in_o it_o he_o shall_v take_v off_o all_o the_o punishment_n their_o past_a crime_n have_v deserve_v this_o will_v be_v to_o encourage_v they_o to_o commit_v new_a one_o and_o give_v they_o just_a ground_n to_o hope_n for_o a_o absolute_a and_o perpetual_a impunity_n shall_v god_n have_v grant_v by_o the_o punish_v if_o he_o have_v do_v this_o if_o he_o have_v set_v out_o a_o stand_a act_n of_o grace_n and_o mercy_n to_o all_o sinner_n without_o any_o condition_n or_o proviso_n that_o they_o turn_v from_o their_o wickedness_n which_o they_o have_v commit_v that_o they_o shall_v come_v in_o and_o lay_v down_o all_o their_o hostile_a weapon_n and_o be_v faithful_a and_o loyal_a hereafter_o or_o mediation_n of_o a_o sacrifice_n to_o pardon_v and_o yet_o to_o punish_v the_o sinner_n by_o the_o same_o way_n to_o give_v a_o instance_n of_o his_o mercy_n and_o a_o remonstrance_n of_o his_o justice_n and_o the_o design_n of_o all_o that_o be_v to_o show_v that_o though_o he_o be_v the_o most_o incline_v to_o mercy_n and_o clemency_n yet_o he_o will_v never_o show_v it_o but_o in_o such_o a_o way_n as_o be_v consistent_a with_o the_o honour_n and_o wisdom_n of_o his_o government_n he_o be_v willing_a to_o abate_v of_o his_o extreme_a right_n over_o his_o creature_n and_o to_o take_v off_o the_o edge_n and_o severity_n of_o his_o law_n so_o far_o as_o prudence_n and_o the_o wise_a end_n of_o government_n will_v give_v leave_n but_o not_o so_o far_o as_o shall_v give_v any_o manner_n of_o encouragement_n to_o disobedience_n and_o wickedness_n and_o that_o will_v be_v unavoidable_a if_o he_o shall_v ever_o grant_v a_o pardon_n to_o wicked_a man_n upon_o any_o other_o condition_n than_o turn_v away_o from_o their_o wickedness_n 2._o as_o it_o be_v this_o alone_a can_v consist_v with_o the_o honour_n and_o wisdom_n of_o god_n as_o he_o be_v a_o wise_a governor_n excellency_n and_o perfection_n and_o be_v ground_v upon_o a_o true_a and_o a_o last_a principle_n his_o own_o nature_n rather_o than_o his_o will_n so_o that_o whilst_o god_n himself_o be_v unchangeable_o holy_a he_o will_v always_o love_v any_o soul_n that_o be_v true_o holy_a and_o come_v up_o to_o his_o original_a holiness_n by_o such_o measure_n and_o proportion_n as_o its_o nature_n only_a thing_n that_o god_n hate_v and_o the_o only_a cause_n why_o he_o be_v angry_a and_o displease_v with_o any_o of_o his_o creature_n and_o as_o long_o as_o this_o remain_v there_o be_v a_o everlasting_a breach_n and_o a_o perpetual_a ground_n and_o foundation_n of_o enmity_n between_o they_o and_o not_o only_a light_n and_o darkness_n but_o heaven_n and_o hell_n be_v more_o irreconcilable_a than_o a_o righteous_a god_n and_o a_o wicked_a soul_n all_o the_o sacrifice_n that_o can_v be_v offer_v to_o atone_v and_o expiate_v for_o such_o a_o one_o if_o it_o continue_v spring_v out_o of_o it_o natural_o as_o a_o foul_a stream_n from_o such_o a_o corrupt_a fountain_n grow_v upon_o it_o as_o the_o proper_a and_o bitter_a fruit_n from_o such_o a_o poisonous_a root_n and_o sin_n as_o a_o true_a parent_n have_v the_o seed_n of_o all_o evil_a in_o its_o own_o bowel_n a_o mind_n that_o be_v overrun_v with_o vice_n will_v as_o necessary_o be_v corrupt_v and_o weaken_v and_o vitiate_v as_o the_o body_n be_v decay_v and_o impair_v by_o a_o disease_n the_o one_o will_v as_o necessary_o put_v the_o mind_n out_o of_o order_n as_o sickness_n do_v the_o other_o and_o till_o it_o be_v cure_v and_o make_v sound_n it_o will_v always_o be_v in_o pain_n and_o uneasy_a its_o faculty_n will_v necessary_o be_v weaken_v and_o impair_v and_o disorder_v by_o it_o and_o so_o lose_v their_o true_a and_o proper_a happiness_n and_o it_o will_v be_v put_v into_o a_o unnatural_a frame_n and_o temper_n and_o be_v like_o the_o body_n when_o its_o limb_n be_v out_o of_o joint_n in_o great_a torture_n till_o it_o be_v set_v right_o again_o god_n must_v alter_v his_o own_o nature_n and_o the_o nature_n of_o thing_n too_o or_o else_o vice_n and_o wickedness_n whilst_o it_o be_v continue_v in_o will_v make_v the_o mind_n miserable_a sickly_a and_o uneasy_a and_o fill_v it_o with_o restlessness_n and_o disquietude_n and_o make_v it_o a_o torment_n and_o vexation_n to_o itself_o 4._o without_o repentance_n and_o be_v free_v from_o our_o sin_n we_o can_v never_o be_v capable_a of_o partake_v or_o enjoy_v any_o true_a and_o positive_a happiness_n much_o less_o that_o great_a and_o eternal_a one_o in_o heave_v happiness_n must_v be_v something_o within_o ourselves_o like_o health_n it_o consist_v in_o the_o right_a crasis_n and_o constitution_n of_o the_o mind_n in_o the_o strength_n and_o vigour_n and_o regular_a operation_n of_o all_o its_o faculty_n till_o it_o be_v put_v into_o this_o state_n by_o repentance_n and_o virtue_n it_o be_v uncapable_a of_o enjoy_v any_o true_a happiness_n our_o vice_n must_v therefore_o be_v first_o cure_v and_o purge_v out_o or_o else_o our_o soul_n will_v be_v as_o uncapable_a of_o enjoy_v their_o proper_a spiritual_a and_o rational_a pleasure_n with_o their_o sin_n and_o wicked_a habit_n and_o disposition_n upon_o they_o as_o our_o body_n of_o enjoy_v their_o animal_n and_o sensual_a one_o witha_v lethargy_n or_o apoplexy_n or_o whatever_o destroy_v their_o proper_a strength_n sense_n and_o perception_n without_o holy_a mind_n and_o virtuous_a disposition_n and_o heavenly_a affection_n and_o inclination_n as_o we_o can_v no_o way_n hope_n for_o heaven_n so_o we_o be_v no_o way_n fit_v or_o qualify_v for_o it_o and_o therefore_o our_o mind_n must_v necessary_o be_v dispose_v and_o prepare_v for_o that_o by_o repentance_n and_o previous_a habit_n of_o virtue_n and_o such_o a_o divine_a temper_n and_o holiness_n of_o mind_n as_o can_v alone_o make_v we_o meet_v to_o be_v partaker_n of_o the_o inheritance_n of_o the_o saint_n in_o light_n as_o st._n paul_n speak_v coloss_n 1.12_o without_o which_o we_o shall_v no_o more_o enjoy_v heaven_n than_o a_o blind_a man_n enjoy_v the_o light_n of_o the_o sun_n who_o organ_n be_v spoil_v and_o vitiate_a and_o who_o want_v the_o use_n of_o those_o sense_n and_o faculty_n by_o which_o he_o shall_v perceive_v it_o so_o that_o if_o a_o sinner_n shall_v be_v unfit_a for_o but_o like_o one_o that_o have_v the_o great_a dainty_n set_v before_o he_o but_o that_o be_v sick_a and_o have_v no_o stomach_n and_o so_o can_v not_o taste_v or_o relish_v any_o of_o they_o till_o the_o mind_n be_v bring_v to_o love_n god_n and_o delight_n in_o he_o and_o in_o all_o the_o action_n of_o virtue_n and_o exercise_n of_o religion_n it_o can_v be_v happy_a in_o heaven_n restore_v to_o a_o virtuous_a and_o holy_a and_o good_a mind_n he_o can_v enjoy_v heaven_n
